Yep, did everything that we could. The weather has been utterly shite here since he's been gone. The fairytale hope is that he's found somewhere else. He is microchipped to us so if he is found hopefully they'll take him to a vet and scan him.

We are adopting a new cat from the local SPCA on Friday. If Leaf comes home, we'll just have 5 cats instead. There's always room for another one.

TheLongRider · 23/11/2019 21:06

I think Paws is fabulous! I also think that Ollie is quite enjoying being top cat and having a human and another cat under his paw

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/11/2019 21:08

Don’t give up hope.

Supersimkin2 · 23/11/2019 21:25

any tips on how to flush out a feral kitten? it's getting boring.

TheLongRider · 23/11/2019 21:27

Ignore him. Cats hate being ignored.

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/11/2019 21:31

Feed him so much he can’t fit in his hidey hole?. Where on earth is he going?.

Supersimkin2 · 23/11/2019 21:55

I'm trying that :)

No idea. None. Grin Every night he pulls a disappearing act and it's draining when you're ill and need to go to bed. Just been thumping round like the big pink monster he thinks I am. Grin

Papergirl1968 · 23/11/2019 22:27

I’m sorry Leaf has gone missing, Long.
The not knowing must be so hard. But don’t give up hope.

Supersimkin2 · 23/11/2019 23:16

Tried and trusted.

Ooh, he has got golden eyes. He's considerably bigger than in the previous photo. Your kitten care is exemplary.

The mouse hunting & slaughter continues chez Allergic, count is currently 3.

First one the corpse hasn't been found, probably festering somewhere in the "junk room" upstairs.

2nd one was brought in still alive presumably as a gift from Girlcat to Boycat for him to practice on. Boycat managed to let it escape under the sofa that evening. Unmarked but decidedly dead corpse found on the floor yesterday morning.

3rd one was brought in last night still alive. Between them they managed to catch then lose it dozens of times (bastards); Boycat has clearly been learning well from his sister. He was actually GROWLING at his sister whenever she went close and it was in his mouth - first time I've ever heard an aggressive sound from either. Once the poor little thing was dead, they lost all interest so I removed the unmarked but soggy remains (Boycat is a bit of a dribbler).

Both cats spending more time sleeping & cuddling each other & me than ever before, and Boycat has developed a bit of a swagger!

Supersimkin2 · 24/11/2019 08:35

@Allergictoironing that is the best news.

He’s so handsome L, he’s really chunked up.

Allergictoironing · 24/11/2019 08:41

I'm not letting them in the conservatory this morning - have DSis & nephew round later & don't particularly want the next mouse running around the living room while we are trying to watch Bohemian Rhapsody. But once they have gone home, I suppose it's time for no. 4 (I reckon there's a fair number still out there).

Once the "visitors" seem to be gone, it will be time for a very thorough worming & fleaing for the kitties I think!

Supersimkin2 · 24/11/2019 08:43

@Fluffycloudland77 how goes it mrs sweetly. I was up at dawn again doing tinkly feather.

The kitten's learnt to sulk if I don't serve Second Breakfast fast enough.

Thanks so much @TheLongRider. He's grown a very fat, very emotional, very fluffy tail that's currently longer than he is. Thumps it for snacks.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/11/2019 09:21

Not good.

Supersimkin2 · 24/11/2019 09:22

(((((((arms round you)))))) xxxxx

TheLongRider · 24/11/2019 09:57

I love cats that talk with their tails. You can tell exactly what humour they're in. Tail up, talkative, tail thrashy, fuck off. Question mark tail, inquisitive, flippy tail tip, you have annoyed me and you will pay!

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/11/2019 11:10

Bertie’s breeder provisionally named him Spartacus, then Peter.

Peters a shit name for a cat.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 24/11/2019 11:15

I think Bertie was an Asbo at heart.

Papergirl1968 · 24/11/2019 12:31

Socks is in disgrace after getting into a carrier bag in my bedroom, and opening her stocking!
I gave her a ball out of the stocking and moved the bag, but the little monkey went to it again.
I told her Santa doesn’t come to bad kittens!

Justonedayatatime11 · 24/11/2019 17:07

Start a new job tomorrow. V nervous. Outfit all laid out. Until Santi decided to claw not only my arms but my throat too Hmm think I'll be replanning that outfit and replacing it with a very high polo neck jumper Angry

Supersimkin2 · 24/11/2019 17:09

@Papergirl1968 Tell Socks that is NOT adorable and I am NOT laffin' and you are NOT secretly proud of her. Grin Grin

@Fluffycloudland77 asbo was royalty, and thus must have many names and many titles. Smart move to swerve Peter tho.

On 12 Dec in the evening there is a Light Up a Life candlelit parade of memory and tribute in the park that ends at a private lake - in the middle of London.

Everyone walks in silence with candles, and on arrival later in the night the candles are sent off across the water. People give thanks and prayers amid a shimmering glow you can see from miles off.

This year the parade will include lit candles for Bertie, a candle for @ClientListQueen's horse, and a candle for Mr C. They will all light up the skies this Christmas.
