Not going better here. My doc mate has just said the steroids and the pneumonia-type bug are prob down to infection caused by cat allergy & enhanced by not having most windows open.

Very worried as I fell asleep briefly with window open to balcony (both catproofed) and there is a new rip in the cat fencing. It wasn't there yesterday. It's been secure for 10 years, TCN checked it herself.

Just crawled round flat again with a torch, no sign.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/11/2019 20:48

Oh lord.

Papergirl1968 · 16/11/2019 20:50

I wondered if it was a cat allergy but if u were ok with Mr C, I couldn’t see why Little K would have set it off. Unless he is long haired.
Was Little K not under the sofa as you thought then? I hope he hadn’t escaped from the balcony but you can’t blame yourself. Keep shaking the Dreamies. Hopefully he is there somewhere.
These kitties like to worry us.

Supersimkin2 · 16/11/2019 21:47

All is not lost. Yet. TCN and I have conferred. I have toured outside with the torch. There is no kitten, and if he's ripped a hole in the wire, escaped and fallen off balcony wall, he'll have landed barely two floors down on neighbour's verandah. She is out.

Basically, it's not a high drop - you'd be worse off falling out of the bedroom window of a bog-standard terrace.

Will report in morning. Both TCN and I are on high alert but I'm not allowed to move much, and don't want to get so hysterical the breathing gets worse.

Bloody hell, what a night. I am VERY angry about the catproofing, it's all being redone come what may. We both checked it.

Papergirl1968 · 16/11/2019 22:17

Try to get some sleep, you don’t want to end up in hospital.
If Little K is just hiding in the flat, he may come out when it all goes quiet.
Leave some food out and then you will be able to see if any is eaten during the night.

Supersimkin2 · 16/11/2019 22:31

That's what I've done - and redone the litter tray and hoovered so I can spot signs of activity.

Thanks everyone.

Little K is long-haired. I don't want to let him go. Off to sleep.

coastergirl · 17/11/2019 09:42

Oh dear, how worrying. I hope he's emerged from his hiding place overnight. Like I said, I still haven't found out where Bertie hides when he's scared. They are so clever.

Supersimkin2 · 17/11/2019 10:28

Pawprints on the sofa!!

Roast chicken all gone!!

No sign of Little K... but I heard a sneeze by way of Good Morning :)

YetAnotherSpartacus · 17/11/2019 10:45

My bet is that Mr K is inside that sofa somewhere (so do be careful sitting down).

How are you feeling today?

Supersimkin2 · 17/11/2019 11:14

Found in hall.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 17/11/2019 11:28

Rewarded with roast chicken?

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/11/2019 11:30

Well that’s an anti climax. I was expecting found in skirting board or under floor or he’s burrowed under the sofa.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/11/2019 11:33

I lost Asbo once, bedroom window was open and I was in tears about to ring dh to say cat hurt and run off to die when I found him in a rolled up duvet on a chair like a sausage roll filling.

Stealth Level #expert.

Could have killed him.

Papergirl1968 · 17/11/2019 11:44

Oh thank goodness! Naughty Little K!

Supersimkin2 · 17/11/2019 12:14

Me and TCN's nerves are just about wobbling back to normal. Had to crawl round the locality with a torch in dead of night. I still haven't taken the steroids because I was in such a state the thought of being on hyperdrive would really have sent him missing :)

Uncle asbo would be proud of Little K's spirit.

Can't post pics - just found packet of dreamies in hall with tiny baby toothmarks :)

TheSilveryPussycat · 17/11/2019 15:22

Fluffy, have you ever read The Tale of Samuel Whiskers? Tom Kitten gets rolled up in a suet crust by 2 rats.

Foxton20 · 17/11/2019 21:15

Help!

We all went away for the weekend and had a friend come by 3/4x a day to play with Demelza. We came home this evening and she’s acting so hyper, jumping off everything, climbing on everyone. And being abit naughty and very bitey!

She won’t come near us apart from jumping all over us.

does she hate us :(

Supersimkin2 · 17/11/2019 21:29

Demelza is disciplining you. Weekend trips and minibreaks have not met with royal approval.

You have been warned.

ClientListQueen · 17/11/2019 21:31

Ollie pushed Paws out the window. Again
Paws came back so all is not lost

Foxton20 · 17/11/2019 21:40

She keeps biting me 😭 she’s never bit before!

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/11/2019 21:52

It’s only ok for them to bugger off, it’s not ok for you to go away.

I’m aware of the suet wrapped kitten 😂

Angliski · 17/11/2019 22:20

@Angliski she is just furrous and gorgeous.

@Justonedayatatime11 they are looking pleased with themselves, correctly so. Lovely pic - the sun always shines on the righteous, eh. Is there anything left of the pheasants worth freezing for Xmas.

Supersimkin2 · 18/11/2019 07:44

Little K has come out. We are having fun with Dreamies in the hall.
