@Supersimkin2 Little K has a much nicer life than me. Can I come and live with you?

PotterHead1985 · 14/11/2019 19:02

I have purchased a new dirt tray (extra), food bowl, water bowl, kitten food, a cute collar, balls, a wand toy with catnip, dreamies and this platform thing with three catnip mice on springs for new kitty.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 15/11/2019 09:03

Had you finished with the icecream or did you share it amongst the three of you? :)

ClientListQueen · 15/11/2019 09:46

Ah well, WW3 started
Paws climbed on the cuddle chair, next to me. Ollie decided to sit on the floor and scream about this and then wave his paws about. Paws thought this was great fun and joined in and they had the most pathetic scrap I've ever seen

Supersimkin2 · 15/11/2019 10:46

Score from past 24 hours of taming feral kitten:

Kitten 1 human 0.

The bookies weren't taking any bets on that, were they.

Little K has now rejected his box and is sitting under the sofa again. I have not been hissed at for presenting breakfast :) Yesterday he only scratched me once :)

My hands & wrists are so battered I'm wearing gloves to the doc later in case they start head-tilting and asking about self-harm Grin Grin

YetAnotherSpartacus · 15/11/2019 10:57

What's the score for ham, sausage and roast chicken?

Papergirl1968 · 15/11/2019 11:08

You’re winning him over, Lana Smile

PotterHead1985 · 15/11/2019 11:22

My 11y/o kitty reached up for a hug last night - and took a chunk out of my top lip. Dear god it hurt.

powkin · 15/11/2019 14:25

@ClientListQueen my parents have a rescue that was clearly abused and is scared of people and is SO LAZY but if he sees another cat he’s out like a shot to defend his territory.

Ours just stares at other cats and lets them do what they like. Sometimes I’ll chase really mangey ones away and then he’ll run after me like “yeah! And stay out!... btw Mum, I was just about to do that but thanks for having my back”.

coastergirl · 15/11/2019 20:52

Somebody refused to come in when I was going to work this morning so was stuck outside in the cold all day. He's just come along attacking me with his very pointy nose, demanding affection. Only too happy to oblige (like I have a choice).

Supersimkin2 · 15/11/2019 22:22

I have been savaged twice Grin In bed on strong antibiotics, steroids etc for dodgy chest. Little K has moved sofa to hide under. Likes Gourmet.

ClientListQueen · 16/11/2019 09:21

Had to leave for work today and Ollie was outside
Opened the window and screeched "OLLLIEEEE"
Ollie - comes galloping down the pavement happily Grin little weirdo

Papergirl1968 · 16/11/2019 13:15

Stupid stupid stupid dd1 came home drunk late last night and managed to shut Socks in the garage. I didn’t get up till late, couldn’t find her, called her name and heard frantic meows. Immediately burst into tears at the thought of her in the dark and cold for hours.
It took ages to coax her out. Matt went in and kissed her and helped get her out in the end 😿

Supersimkin2 · 16/11/2019 13:42

Oh Paper Flowers No harm done, sweetheart, she is back safe now. And will probably avoid garage.

Spend a nice afternoon with both kitties on sofa - @cozietoesie's cure-all prescription of lie down and a movie to heal hurt feelings will see you right.

Little K has vanished somewhere in the flat. He can't hurt himself or exit premises, it's a waiting game. He hoovered a massive breakfast before exiting the sitting room, so he's not hungry.

coastergirl · 16/11/2019 14:10

@Papergirl1968 you are probably more traumatised than little Socks. Bless you both.

@Supersimkin2 when we were at this stage with Bertie he was a master at hiding. To be fair, he still has a hiding place somewhere I can't find. He only uses it when strangers visit now though.

Walter has just scared himself silly. Jumped on something in the kitchen that made a loud noise (I don't know what because I was in the next room). He's sped outside and is sat by the back door, all swivelling ears and puffed-up tail. He's not very bright.

Papergirl1968 · 16/11/2019 14:18

Stupid thing is she came out of the garage tentatively and as soon as anyone went near she ran back in. Her prison became her refuge in a Stockholm Syndrome way.
But she’s out now, the door is locked, heating on to warm chilly kitty toes, and she’s eaten and been playing so I think she’s ok.
Matt, the hero, is fast asleep on a bed.

Supersimkin2 · 16/11/2019 14:44

Things aren't great here.

I'm very frail with severe asthma and chest infection. Little K also has flu and has vanished.

I am too weak to move the furniture to find him, it's sodding stressful. I daren't risk getting any sicker or it's hospital tonight.

Breathing is very bad and I can't open a window in case kitten escapes.

Don't know what to do.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/11/2019 14:54

Is it bad enough that your not smoking? I always knew dh was bad when he stopped smoking.

Supersimkin2 · 16/11/2019 16:06

Yep, really stressed & grumpy because I can't smoke that much.

I have cut down on smoking a lot, evidently not enough. Just realised I can't take the steroids because they clash with the thyroid meds. Has there ever been a more middle-aged remark? Grin

Glitterball Little K has had FIRST DREAMIE. Glitterball

And 2nd to 39th Dreamies upon exit from behind telly. Is now back under my arse under sofa, safe in the knowledge I can't reach him.

The small animal is training me well with a series of emotionally-based nutritional demands and bush baby face.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/11/2019 16:43

If it’s a short course they’ll consider the benefits to outweigh the risks.

One of dhs drugs is contraindicated with another drug but the consultants still prescribed it.

Papergirl1968 · 16/11/2019 17:57

Oh, Lana, that sounds awful. Look after yourself.
Glad Little K turned up at least.
