Is that a vet trip or a keep an eye?

OP posts:
LanaorAna2 · 31/12/2018 10:02

is it broken off or the whole thing?

Ollivander84 · 31/12/2018 10:14

Whole thing

OP posts:
Ollivander84 · 31/12/2018 10:19

He shook his head, tooth flew out, he looked a bit surprised and then shouted for food Confused
Vet suggested a dental may be needed

OP posts:
LanaorAna2 · 31/12/2018 10:41

Whole thing is way better news than a bit of it. It was that Dragon film as did it.

You might have to take him in so they can have a look in case the hole goes gammy, but it probably won't. Vet doesn't sound urgent, which is a relief.

Ollivander84 · 31/12/2018 10:46

He will probably feel better without a wobbly tooth. Vet said £350 ish for dental. I did point out he has about 6 teeth remaining now so please could they charge per tooth Grin

LanaorAna2 · 31/12/2018 11:13

No hang on a bit for £350!!!

asbo has made the papers again www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2018/08/cities-animal-intelligence-fishing-cats/567538/

Ollivander84 · 31/12/2018 11:19

He's booked in for the 8th to go in at 7pm and then i will collect him the next day around the same time. Will be raging with an overnight stay Grin

LanaorAna2 · 31/12/2018 11:32

You might get a decent night kip in though Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/12/2018 11:42

I’d be tempted to get them all out, long run it’s less traumatic. Asbo had already lost a tooth when he had his dental. I felt like the worst owner ever.

LanaorAna2 · 31/12/2018 11:55

Zero reason to feel bad - teeth fall out all the time!

Not neglect - a lot of the time it's genetic or they never grew properly in the first place. Mr C has only three missing teeth for some reason, but the remainers are so ground down and stumpy I'm not worried if they take early retirement.

I'm off to buy Nurse Lee his Xmas present. Again. I think he might deserve more than one Grin

cozietoesie · 31/12/2018 17:16

How long do teeth last among well nourished ferals? (Nearest I can get to wild cats.)

Weezol · 31/12/2018 18:22

Usual NYE lined up chez Weezolcat. At 2355 self and She Who Must Be Obeyed will be flat on our backs under the velux watching the fireworks that everyone else spends thousands of pounds on. City living on a shoestring at its best.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2019 (how is it 2019??? I'm sure it should only be about 1988).

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/12/2018 19:05

Asbo pissed on dhs side of the duvet earlier. He is creeping around trying to get in my good books.

It’s not working.

LanaorAna2 · 31/12/2018 19:19

asbo! that is very silly and naughty.

There's already evidently been fireworks in the Fluffy Residence.

Ollivander84 · 31/12/2018 20:00

I think ferals average life span is only about 7 years anyway, or less
It's his bottom fang that's come out so we are down to one remaining fang!

cozietoesie · 31/12/2018 20:08

I seem to recall that ferals in 'managed colonies' do much better, Ollivander. Perhaps their teeth do also? (Within reason.)

Ollivander84 · 31/12/2018 20:14

Makes sense. I think his is just a bad diet, lack of dental care and who knows what as a kitten. Am suggesting to nice vet who removed tooth from nose whether we should whip all his teeth out now
He ate two pouches for tea so it's not hindering that HmmGrin

I always regret leaving a rear tooth in Seniorboy. By the time it started to causer trouble, he was too old for a GA.

Ollivander84 · 31/12/2018 21:13

I think he heard the V.E.T word. What with that and an overnight kip there... I'll need bribery Grin

You said it? GrinShock

Ollivander84 · 31/12/2018 21:21

I thought I was out of earshot. Apparently he's got ears like a bat unless I'm telling him not to do something

OP posts:
LanaorAna2 · 31/12/2018 21:29

It looks like it's time for a nice soothing defang. Toothache is never a necessity.

Same here Weezol -The London fireworks are starting soon. We will be lying in bed watching the ones in Trafalgar Square, which Mr C disapproves of as they are very full on. And very, very beautiful - historic skyline lights up lilac, silver showering the rooftops.

Mind you, nothing inc world-famous scenery turning to popping fizzy molten metal beats not having to go out.

LanaorAna2 · 31/12/2018 21:30

Yep. He heard. Grin

Justonedayatatime11 · 31/12/2018 21:49

How do cats with no teeth get on? Snow is off to the vets on Fri to have ALL hers taken out Sad. Can they have normal food?
