What's your DCat up to today? (Thread 7!)

I wanted to reply to @EachandEveryone but thread number 6 is full! That cooling mat thing looks fab.

What is everyone's cat up to today?

Today I am 26 weeks pregnant and my cat Freya is communing with the baby. Mainly purring and gentle pawing in response to little kicks. I am hoping they'll be friends! Meanwhile Maisie is looking on disdainfully. She's in the huff because I tipped her out of the pregnancy dungarees, which she had commandeered as her personal nest.

What are your furry overlords all up to?

Ernie! He has decided that if a bear is shitting in his woods then he does not want to shit there too.

I hope that he heals well and does not develop an abscess.

Oldraver · 14/09/2019 12:40

Oh that's hilarious Spartacus

It didn't occur to me Ernie may be put off by the Bear watching him. He does sort of glare at it

The wound looks better than on the pic but will keep an eye on it. He's snuggled up trapping me at the moment

Sybil has chosen her latest favourite spot, the edge of a nest of coffee tables.

Our male cat for some unknown reason decided to leave a turd on the hall carpet (about 10" away from the perfectly clean litter tray in the understair cupboard) and I bloody stepped on it

I think something may have flustered him outside , both cats are very good , I know they miss the tray sometimes but it's in their cupboard on paper , not the carpet .

They accepted chicken liver ( just a treat amount) and he's still giving me that look .

I didn't tell him off or shout , it was just a "Eurgh, DH , bring me bogroll"

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 22/09/2019 15:41

Cat conference (well it is raining outside)

Our male cat went out ( pre-rain) for breakfast and found himself a delicious cranefly ,even though there was fresh water, wet food and some biscuits. That's for later .

Our female has decided to sleep in a Tesco Bag For Life on the table .
Obviously the rain is entirely my fault .

TheLongRider · 22/09/2019 20:11

He was in this position for 10 minutes. He eventually went out and immediately came back in, it's too wet. Currently sleeping on his tower until the rain fecks off.

Haha, a great picture Grin

DCat · 23/09/2019 17:25

Maybe this position is bit... unflattering?

Just discovered this thread Grin and loving it!

I usually only read the mumsnet Archers thread, but I'm going to start looking at this one aswell.

Here are three of my cats - two sisters and their brother. Their Mother is the one on my shoulder. It's her favourite place when showing those three young upstarts who is really in charge around here.

When my little girl cat had kittens (just over two years ago now Shock) I couldn't bear to part with them, so I had all of them spayed and kept the lot.

Sorry - I meant four cats!

I tend to think of the kittens as a separate gang of three 😼🐱‍👤😼alongside their put-upon Mother 🙀!!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 25/11/2019 14:59

Got to love a shoulder cat Grin.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 01/12/2019 16:06

I have Sybil on my shoulder and Basil on my lap.

Finally finished my exclusive limited edition Guinness Marmite (only 11 years out of code - tasted great). Used on my toast this morning and Sybil has finished the very meagre remains left in the jar.

Here's a question for you all.

Changing the bedlinen - how do YOU do it?

Do you:

A) Firmly shut the bedroom door, locking the cats out of the bedroom, and getting the job done in ten minutes.

OR....

B) Letting the cats 'help', and spending an hour playing hide and seek, peekaboo and getting scratched hands (resulting in blood stains on your pristine cotton bedding?

You can probably guess how I've just spent the last hour 😸!!

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 28/12/2019 14:51

When my cat, Tabitha, had kittens, she produced three:

A huge silver tabby boy.
A black and calico girl.
A completely blue girl.

How does that happen? Three different fathers?

Has my Tabitha been 'putting it about a bit?'

Also, can we get this thread moving again, please? It seems to have stopped in October Hmm

caoraich · 28/12/2019 22:34

Goodness! This thread is still going on! Hello all the cats

We have recently moved house and Freya and Maisie are outdoor cats now! They are loving it. Maisie hunts leaves and the neighbours ham. Freya brings us headless mice.

The baby is a proper toddler now and freya and her are best buds. Freya tolerates tail pulling, tummy smashing and being a general plaything with nothing but purrs. Here she is on a walk with her human kitten

Where has that tine gone? You must be well back to work now.

My girls are fine i also seem to have a ginger lodger. A stray that the cat neuterer helped last year when he turned up with a huge burst abscess. The girls tolerate him sleeping here which i dont mind.

Supersimkin2 · 29/12/2019 22:56

Each he is absolutely beautiful. Is he definitely a lodger? I know someone who wants a ginger cat.

EachandEveryone · 29/12/2019 23:59

Hes adorable but cowardly! Hes frightened of his own shadow and doesnt know how to get in through the flap so only comes in when i open the door. Hes very affectionate I love him to bits but my girls arent so keen and my flat isnt that big. Has your friend rang around the rescues? The thing with this boy is that i think it would be hard to keep him indoors for afew weeks as hes so used to exploring. I dont know really because I also think he deserves more.

Supersimkin2 · 30/12/2019 00:42

Little prince! I'll ask.
