Pawsitive thoughts for Fattycat's heart scan tomorrow.

I totally panicked when the vet said the scan wasn’t actually till next week so got her booked to a independent cardiologist tomorrow. (One who doesn’t charge extra just to stay with her!) I may be clutching at straws but I think the fluid in her lungs may be due to fluid overload during her dental. As she’s just Too well and respiratory rate is normal. But please keep all your paws crossed for my darling girl.

Good luck! I will keep everything crossed for good news. Will she be getting shaved??

Harry’s doing fine thanks Dances, although I might be packing him off to live with Toddler and the girls if he doesn’t stop trying to shred my new rug!

I hope everything went well today for the lovely Fattycat.

Unfortunately it was not good news. Her heart is in pretty bad shape. She has cardiomyopathy as I suspected. Prognosis isn’t great but hopefully the drugs they’ve started her on will help her.l, by easing the strain on her heart and lungs. She’s got a beta blocker, a diuretic and an anti coagulant. She could go on for a few years but we’ll just have to see how she goes. Managed to get first dose of tablets down her without to much trouble. The main thing is that she is well in her self and happy. The vet did say that although it would have always happened, her rubbish start in life has not helped. Here she is having her ECG and trying to blend in with the bed!

Ps. Both are still up for some dating!

Oh Toddler, I’m so sorry, I really thought it would be better news than that. I’m glad she took her meds like a good girl. As you say, the main thing is she’s well in herself and happy.

I'm sorry it's not good news. I really hope you have more time together than you've been told. One of mine has had long standing health issues and he's got quite used to being pilled. The other ones require full riot gear...
