Pawsitive thoughts for Fattycat's heart scan tomorrow.

I totally panicked when the vet said the scan wasn’t actually till next week so got her booked to a independent cardiologist tomorrow. (One who doesn’t charge extra just to stay with her!) I may be clutching at straws but I think the fluid in her lungs may be due to fluid overload during her dental. As she’s just Too well and respiratory rate is normal. But please keep all your paws crossed for my darling girl.

Snorg has thickening of her septum, but no enlargement and no obstruction. So although it's not completely all clear, I can relax a bit with her. No treatment needed and rescan in 6 months as it's not affecting her at all. She did say it could be age related thickening, if she is actually older than 7. But I really don't know if she is or not as I don't have any history on her. So all in all I'm fairly reassured.

I'm glad you feel better. Smile

TheLongRider · 14/12/2017 18:51

Yay! I'm also glad that went well. Enjoy their floofiness over Christmas.

Does their fur grow more in the winter? My semi-longhaired mog is rocking an epic winter tail at the moment.

Toddlerteaplease · 14/12/2017 19:51

Yes. They look like they are in dire need of a hair cut!

Great news :).

Fatty is having another scan tomorrow. Hoping that her heart has not got worse. If it's stayed the same as last scan, I'll be happy, any improvement will be a bonus.

Good luck to the lass. Smile

When should the results be through?

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 07/02/2018 19:25

Sending love and positive thoughts from me and Baron Harry xx

Toddlerteaplease · 07/02/2018 19:30

Will know straight away, as I'll be stroking her head during the scan and being very Envyat the nurse burying her face in her floof Grin

Good for you. Let us know as soon as you can then? Smile

Yes. Just a check up. I think her respiratory rate and efforts is slightly increased again. But only to the same level as it was before she started treatment. Last time her heart was listened too, she had a grade 2 murmur.

But the main thing is that she is happy and well.

Dances, the thought of her 'strutting in like a boss' almost made me spit out my tea laughing. I had to buy top entry boxes as I got fed up having to take the entire thing apart to get them out. The nurses and the cardiologist do seem to be genuinely quite taken by how lovely and well behaved they are.

She refuses to get out of the basket then lies on the bed trying to blend in and doesn't move!

Heart the same as it was as in December. The cardiologist thinks it's as good as it's going to get. But it's not any worse, and still better than it was when she was first diagnosed. Her breathing is a bit more laboured. So I can increase the frusemide. She'll see her again in June. So am happy with that.

I'm glad it was positive and big smooshy hugs to the lovely Fatty (if she'll allow it of course!) x

Toddlerteaplease · 08/02/2018 12:16

Had lovely snuggles in the waiting room. Abd the nurse couldn't resist a cuddle as well. Lots of comments about how sweet she is.

cozietoesie · 08/02/2018 14:36

Well they're both sweeties.

I'm glad there's been no deterioration. Smile

Toddlerteaplease · 09/02/2018 20:39

Have upped her diuretic and she seems much better. So will carry on over the weekend and oho r the cardiologist on Monday to see if I should reduce or stay on it. Now I know I can increase if needed I'm happy to adjust the dose as needed.

Hope that fatty (bit actually the svelte and streamlined one of the pair) is doing well.
I didn't realise this was an update to the December issues.
Poor little girls, they've been through the mill.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/02/2018 08:37

They are both fine. Thanks. Snorg says she's definitely looking more svelte as well. A year next week since she tried to die on me..
