I don't think anyone's begun a new thread yet?

Hope you don't mind Cozie. Smile Newboy's Fairy God(cat)mothers love hearing about his progress.

Most tom fights outside are really just a bit of bluster to establish rank. Maybe he has that Siamese note in his voice? (Siamese come home carrying their shields or on them. They take it very very seriously.)

Lanaorana2 · 13/12/2017 23:10

Next up for 2018: The Litter Tray X Factor. I can't wait.

Dying to hear what they both sound like.

I always talk back to Mr C '(no pumpkin... no... not snacktime.... snacktime PRESENTLY... all right, all right, I do it, coming now, calm down I can't hear myself think. There you are....I am watching telly... TELLY....ok then sit on me...ouf....all right I do your belly.. doing it now....'')

Sorry, Ollivander. Judging by those, he's an amateur. Grin

cozietoesie · 13/12/2017 23:59

He's been sitting on the bed since 11.15.Smile

cozietoesie · 14/12/2017 00:29

I went into the downstairs sitting room (after tidying the Siberian waste) and found him 'investigating' the as yet undressed tree. If I were being charitable, I'd say 'Of course - change to his environment.' We'll see what happens overnight.

Kibobear · 14/12/2017 03:40

Ah the dulcet tones of Siamese 😁 Newboy is making great strides😍😍😍
He and Hermione could perform duets (and shatter eardrums)

Lanaorana2 · 14/12/2017 11:24

N has had a crafty kip on you I bet. Dying to listen to oli,s latest chart smash but am in docs and fear the howls would bring all medics running.

Actually, been waiting ages might just do it. Grin

YetAnotherSpartacus · 14/12/2017 12:50

It's how Siamese win most of their fights. They just open their mouths and their poor opponents think 'OMFG - what have I got facing me?

I've always thought the same thing. I grew up near one that ruled the street. When he used to fight the other cat would have to muster everything to sound half as loud and menacing. As a child, I didn't know you should not interrupt fighting cats, so I picked up the meezer for a snuggle. He was such a sook that he forgot the fight and accepted hugs and pats. The other cat took the opportunity to slink away (backwards). I did the same from then on in to break up fights and never got mauled (although I did on other occasions for more innocuous things).

cozietoesie · 14/12/2017 13:53

It's a question of attitude. I was coming out of a tube one day and came across a waiting tableau. This little chihuahua was in this woman's arms but giving it laldy (verbally) to this humungous Shepherd sitting peaceably nearby. The Shepherd was terrified. Grin Heck, even I wasn't too sanguine about the whole situation.

The chihuahua was clearly yelling 'Let me at it so that I can kilt it in various unmentionable ways'. The Shepherd heard the intention and clearly hadn't noticed the (considerable) size disparity. The chihuahua's owner paid no mind - she was obviously used to it! Grin

cozietoesie · 14/12/2017 13:54

kill.........Wink

YetAnotherSpartacus · 14/12/2017 14:00

OMG - I had exactly the same scenario when I was holding the meezer once! I would have been about 5 and there was this huge Shepherd (people were more lax about letting dogs run free then) and I was terrified. The meezer was letting the dog have it with both barrels, but at the same time was relishing being up high / in my arms...

Lanaorana2 · 14/12/2017 18:37

Our first family cat, Catone, went for an Alsatian. She was a tiny tortie. She LOVED terrifying local hounds - they fled incontinent through the streets of South London, owners dragged helpless in their wake. Alsatian went like the clappers.

Once she knew the Alsatian was a weed, her fave was to hide in the privet hedge outside the house and leap out, 20 claws splayed, onto his back. He took off, Catone astride tallyho-ing like a deranged Calamity Jane.

Mum got a letter from the council.

Mightybanhammer · 14/12/2017 19:18

Ooh. I have an Alsatian story!
My big black very vocal super affectionate, somewhat dare I say, Olli-like person, had to have an essential and nasty blood draw. I was upstairs in the waiting room, chatting to a lady with a large hairy Alsatian when loud shrieks of horror and outrage wafted up the stairs . Alsatian bolted and stood quivering in the corner.Blush

Ollivander84 · 14/12/2017 22:31

Ollie has just had a complete freak out Hmm
Home from work and my back is sore after lots of lifting. Thought I would do child's pose (yoga).
In ollies eyes I had obviously keeled over on the floor face down so I have been screamed at, head butted and had a paw shoved in my face until I "woke up" at which point he chirruped and did his happy feet dance Grin

TheLongRider · 14/12/2017 22:45

He evidently cares a lot about your well being. Hmm

Ollivander84 · 14/12/2017 22:50

I think it was more the fact there might not have been food Grin

YetAnotherSpartacus · 14/12/2017 23:20

Take care of your back Ollivander. I'm assuming you were at work?

Ollivander84 · 14/12/2017 23:23

Yes, worked this morning for 3hrs then 4hrs tonight. All hoisted patients though so lots of rolling etc. I'm having another MRI soon hopefully to check I haven't reherniated the disc

YetAnotherSpartacus · 14/12/2017 23:37

Think about whether its worth it .... Any news on your appeal re your old job yet?

cozietoesie · 14/12/2017 23:37

I'm having a (sort of) stand-off with Newboy. He wouldn't eat his teatime plate of Country Hunter so I hung tough and left it there. He grudgingly ate all but some crumbs by 20.30 - which put First Supper's 21.00 schedule in jeopardy.

He's now eaten First Supper (some AGAIL DD) so we'll have to see how he reacts to Final Supper.

I may be feeding him too much of course. Grin

cozietoesie · 14/12/2017 23:39

He seems a little confused but very cheerful. (No protest pees as far as I can see and lots of playing.)

Ollivander84 · 14/12/2017 23:39

Yet - I have to do it to pay the mortgage. Not ideal I know but it's anything that brings money in. No actual lifting just lots of rolling really. No news but not expecting to hear until after Christmas
Interview for Jaguar on Monday

YetAnotherSpartacus · 14/12/2017 23:41

Good luck on Monday Ollivander!
