We live in the countryside and we were walking when we found the tiny one. I took her to the vet straightaway to get her checked. She has nasty diahorea but is quite bright otherwise. They gave me a deworming, a probiotic thingy...I try to give her kitty milk but she is not keen. She drinks water and some specialised food that I bought from the vet. I'm planning on offering food every 3 hours : milk-food-water...she is asleep on heating pad on low. What else can I do !? I'm really worried she is not drinking the milk :(

Twolittlejobs-she ears regularly with regular water. So glad you are saying milk is not a big deal...I have tried the syringe, the bottle feeding, let her take it...nope no interest !

I keep popping back for updates, and pics. She is so gorgeous!

OP, you are a star! Beautiful Bella fell on her feet when you found her, and I am so happy she did.

Twolittlejobbys · 26/11/2016 18:00

You sound like you're doing everything right! Keep us updated lol. She's as cute as a button Smile

SoupDragon · 26/11/2016 18:53

:)

How have your other cats taken to her?

JenTeale · 26/11/2016 18:59

This is just lovely, you're doing the most brilliant job! Great experience for the dc too.

user1477462353 · 26/11/2016 20:18

Thank you for being so kind. She is a sweet little thing, it's hard not to get attach to her. She looks in good shape and I'm hopeful but you never know. I just hope the test on the poo is ok and that she is not ill. I haven't showed her to our other 2 cats yet as the vet said not too in case of she is carrying disease !

My experience with young animals is that if they're not going to make it at an early stage, they show it by 'going into themselves' - they stop eating and playing etc and become quiet and reserved. She's not like that, though, I think? Smile

Maybe just keep a weather watch on her eyes? Young kittens often get eye infections when they're feral born - which she likely was. They're treatable but you don't need to leave it too long.

SoupDragon · 26/11/2016 22:51

Did you look for the rest of the litter at all?

SoupDragon · 26/11/2016 22:53

I need to stop looking at kitten threads.

I'm not getting any more animals until SoupDogg and FatCatSlim have moved on.

In many many years time.

user1477462353 · 27/11/2016 08:03

Cozie - we are constantly watching her and I regularly offer food and water, I hope I won't see those signs 😢. She is going to the vet for another check up and I will also give them the poo sample. I signed her up for pet plan insurance too.

Soup dragon - we looked for her family and they were no signs.

Poor little abandoned kitty! The late SoupKitten was found abandoned in a gutter as a tiny, ill kitten and I felt she needed extra love to make up for it.

Do mother cats dump ill kittens to protect the rest of the litter?

I'm a bit worried, she is not eating much this morning. Last time she had wet food it was 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning. She had water, she did a big we (clear). She had her med, just doesn't want to eat.

orangebird69 · 27/11/2016 15:49

How is she now OP? X

user1477462353 · 27/11/2016 15:51

Well she had a bit of mix of wet food and kitty milk a couple of hours ago. She is not having so many poos, her wees are clear.I guess she is ok. Thank you for asking x

Maybe she's working out that food isn't scarce anymore so she's just calming down. She's such a poppet. Are you keeping her?
