We live in the countryside and we were walking when we found the tiny one. I took her to the vet straightaway to get her checked. She has nasty diahorea but is quite bright otherwise. They gave me a deworming, a probiotic thingy...I try to give her kitty milk but she is not keen. She drinks water and some specialised food that I bought from the vet. I'm planning on offering food every 3 hours : milk-food-water...she is asleep on heating pad on low. What else can I do !? I'm really worried she is not drinking the milk :(

She has been named Bella ! She has been eating well, only did one diahorea so far. She has had her medicine all good ! She is getting a bit of cleaning later on with cotton ball and boiled water. I'm shattered, Dh is doing the day shift !

Beautiful Bella :)
but you know we need another picture don't you?

Eating well and only one diarrhoea? Fingers crossed that her innards are 'working it through'. Smile

Yes cozie and the diahorea was not as liquid (sorry tmi)...yesterday when she ate she was eating and it went right through her. She ate about 4 times this morning and only did 2 poos. I took a sample. I really hope she has no illnesses. She is really bright and playful.

That's a seriously cute floofball

Flowers for taking her in.

cozietoesie · 26/11/2016 12:52

That sounds quite promising. Smile

PleaseNotTrump · 26/11/2016 12:52

Awww.

cozietoesie · 26/11/2016 12:54

By the way - is she managing to get to her tray for the diarrhoea? Smile

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 26/11/2016 13:11

Oh she's so sweet. Couldn't you just eat her.
Hope she's feeling better soon.

Our two were found at 4 weeks old and DH brought them home. I fed them mainly kitten milk for the first 2 weeks every 2-3 hours. Then I moved onto mixing the milk with wet food to make a "gruel" type thing.

Ours had really really runny poo for the first week. We were told as long as they were eating/drinking well, it wasn't anything to worry about. Our vet said it was the equivalent of switching from breastfeeding to formula and their digestive system gets a bit confused.

Ours are now nearly 18 months and so affectionate and very, very attached to me.

Shameless place marking for kitten updates.

DragonitesRule · 26/11/2016 14:10

We also have a rescue baby (mother run over and killed when they were 5days old. We had her at 4 wks (had been abandoned at vets). She suffered with diarrhoea too. What we found made an enormous difference was giving her really high quality food, with a high protein percentage such as Wainwrights. We mashed it up with a little water at first.

She is now 12 wks and just hit 1.5kgs so doing really well, and is mistress of the house, queening it over the 30kg Labrador! 😻

Awwww dragonites !! So cute ! Thank you for sharing your story! Cozie : she pooed and weed on the tray. We have organised all our week end around her, dh took the kids shopping for her so I'm watching her now then when they are back one of them will watch over her. She is sleeping now, will send pictures later.

Squeeeee again.

Where is Pinot when you need her.

AugustRose · 26/11/2016 16:18

Ooh she's lovely, I love kittens.

We took in a stray who was one of 5 kittens left in a box when they were only 4/5 weeks old. He too suffered with diarrhoea for about a week/10 days while his little tummy settled into his new diet then he was fine. He's now 2 and currently stretched out in front of the stove.

DragonitesRule · 26/11/2016 16:31

Her she is now...asleep on the dogs bed! Poor dog is on the floor!Grin

She poos less and the constitution of it is better however I'm worried because she really is not keen on her milk.

Twolittlejobbys · 26/11/2016 17:29

So glad you found her! Just to say kittens really don't need milk. Also if she's eating wet food they will drink very little water. She looks like she's doing great!
