He meowed non stop for half an hour this morning, then ate 2 pouches of Sheba and is now fast asleep on my bed

How are your cats coping in this weather?

Mine are indoor cats. We have a really hot flat (was 30c in our room last night!) and they are extremely fluffy and yet they don't seem to be remotely bothered. I'm a bit by this.

WildPeaceCat brought me a stunned but live mouse last night, with much loud ceremony. I'm sleeping downstairs in a room that backs onto the conservatory and had the doors open. Had to close the doors and shut out the wildlife.

Cat stayed out all night and is now exhausted and sprawled on cold stone kitchen floor.

We're significantly colder inside the house than outside, here - it felt like opening an oven door when I went outside yesterday evening.

I used to (gently) sprinkle some water on The Lodger if he overheated in the previous house. He seemed to appreciate that.

I have five of them flopped around looking hot.

Four of them are Siberian. Too much furs for this weather.

Leroy is flaked out on the landing. We went out for a little while this morning and he just flopped around the garden.

Girlie is just sleeping on top of a tool box in the coldest part of the house (the back hall) as it gets no sun whatsoever. she meows if you go past her as if to tell you to piss off it's too warm.
Boy needs to be close to me all the time. He's currently as close to me as he can get without touching as he's to warm if he does. so he's taking up 2/3 of the sofa sprawled lengthways :D

I put ice cubes in their water dish yesterday which they appreciated and keep the curtains closed in hot weather anyway. Thn when it had cooled down later in the evening I let them out for some air and they rolled around for ten minutes- it was too hot to even sniff around.

Ice cubes in their water, and an ive pack sounds good. I'm going to put a cat food pouch in the freezer!

Mine are not very happy about it. Sensibly staying indoors. Lots of lying on their backs in protest!

My boy decided he was not staying in last night, had his supper and promptly legged it through a first floor window, which enables him to get on to the garage roof. So I was up very late trying to find him, then again at 5am. He returned 7.30am through the same window and has spent the day asleep...

PicklePig has flomped down on the floor in front of the fan. He was out most of the night which is very unusual for him. He usually sleeps on the bed snuggled up next to me.
He did come in at about 4am, miaowing loudly & headbutting me. I think he wanted to tell me how hot it was.
I agreed with him, particularly when he then lay down next to me and snuggled into my neck. I love him but I don't need a furry hot water bottle in this weather.
I'm thinking of getting one of those cool pads for him but I think he's too thick to work out how to use it.

Okay I popped in to show my age and say OP is Mrs Slocombe and I claim my five pounds. ;-) But then you all posted adorable pics and I ended up staying. I currently have mice :-( and need a mouser but don't want half alive ones or gifts on my pillow or I might end up a wibbling wreck on the floor. Is there such a thing as a cat that can pretend it's a mouser but in fact is as squeamish as me but the mouse won't know that?! (Sorry OP for the derail and that your cat is feeling it: swap you Puccini for a frazzled tazzy devil child though, who has not yet worked out that having a paddy and running round in circles ain't helping with the heat).

Can in join in with my poor chihuahua cross? he's not a cat but he's miserably hot so I've soaked a thin muslin in cold water and laid it over him I'm pretty sure he'd have cried with relief if he could.

My cat has no fur so warm weather is his thing. He has stopped napping on his electric blanket for the last few days and settled for crawling under a non heated one instead.

BogBastard is also a Siberian and has a huge fluffy ginger coat thing going on which is great for snowy Russian pine forests, less good for a UK heatwave.

He is sprawled out in his patch of shade like a particularly grumpy antimacassar

Mine is camped under the bed where it's cooler. He won't play in the paddling pool or eat ice cubes like the dog!

Mine is sleeping on our bed all day then going out all night. She doesn't seem remotely bothered apart from the fact that I refused to get up and let her in at 6am.
