Mr September on the Litter Tray 2017 Abandoned Cats Calendar? Grin

RubbishMantra · 22/07/2016 02:18

In spite of the heat, MCat is curled up next to me, attempting to climb on my lap, at every opportunity. I have to decline, because it would overheat us both. He's purring though. Smile

Little Monsieur is being more sensible, lying on his back, legs splayed in every direction, little pink belly catching the breeze. Grin

Rollypoly100 · 22/07/2016 13:59

Here is New Kitten. He likes it hot.

cozietoesie · 22/07/2016 14:27

Ha! I think Mr March is still unfilled, Rolly. Grin

FluffyPersian · 22/07/2016 17:08

No flies on my cat.... He tends to like the cool tiled floor in the kitchen or in front of the fan Smile

RubbishMantra · 22/07/2016 21:27

I've let the boys stay out a bit later tonight, because I can't bear to shut the back door at the moment, in order to catch what little breeze is available.

Little Monsieur is delighted, and speeding round the garden, back into the house, rinse and repeat.

He also has a nemesis, which warbles (a Thrush I think, def. not a blackbird) at him from the holly tree. He chatters at it. I really just think he wants to make friends with it. Then decapitate it. Grin

cozietoesie · 22/07/2016 22:27

If he's 'chattering' at it, I rather think that his thoughts are already at the decapitation stage I fear. Wink

RubbishMantra · 22/07/2016 22:50

Fortunately, MCat has forbidden him from climbing the holly tree. I like to think he's looking out for the Little M.

MCat just likes to sit on the wall and give the poor bird panic attacks.

Little M also sits on the windowsill, chattering at passers by. Thank goodness he isn't the size of a lion. Even so, I'm sure he'd just drag people in "to make friends with". Grin

Bogburglar99 · 22/07/2016 22:51

BogBastard has one like that. It sits on next doors TV aerial and shouts what I assume are extremely rude things in Blackbird.

BB meanwhile, who hasn't yet quite worked out the whole issue about birds going up and cats not, sits there looking very intent ...

cozietoesie · 22/07/2016 22:52

Although from the sound of it, he's not quite so 'Little' any more?Smile

cozietoesie · 22/07/2016 22:54

Just how long is it taking BB to work all this out? Grin

RubbishMantra · 22/07/2016 23:08

He's a bit overweight Cozie. The vet, at his last check-up said, "Don't let him put anymore weight on, will you?"

They are a breed known to gain weight easily.

But because of his tiny head and lack of fur, he still looks so small. apart from the swingy pink baldy tummy

I shall get the Flying Frenzy out forthwith...

WellWhoKnew · 22/07/2016 23:12

WWCat is melting.

Who's got a hot pussy?
Bogburglar99 · 22/07/2016 23:17

cozie he is the loveliest of cats with the most amiable temperament but I fear he was behind a few doors when the brains were being handed out Smile The other explanation is that being able to jump like a coiled spring and climb like a lumberjack, he refuses to accept that one day he won't also be able to fly ...

He still has quite a way to go to catch up with the cat of my youth who was a strong contender (in a wide field) for the Thickest Cat Ever. Watching him stalk a squirrel was a whole comedy episode in itself.

RubbishMantra · 22/07/2016 23:21

Bog, a resident blackbird is a nightmare. Especially when sitting in the garden, enjoying the breeze after your Friday night hangover, with it screaming at you.

My resident Blackbird would sit on our fence, shouting at my cat. Who would sometimes get the bottle to stalk up the path, before losing bottle, and running back into the house. It even brought it's fledglings into the garden one day. Cue one unhappy cat, locked in all day.

We moved.

HoobleDooble · 22/07/2016 23:32

Hooblepuss has moved into the bath as it's the coolest spot in the house. Glad I'm not wearing a fur coat in this heat!

bloodyteenagers · 22/07/2016 23:38

I have two hot pussies. They have been walking around for days crying. They haven't done this since I first acquired them. One is very fluffy, he just moves a bit and flings himself on the floor, like he's going for an Oscar.
They have realised however, the coolest place is the bath. Haven't caught them in there, but seen and heard the evidence. And no, they don't care if there is water in the bath. In they jump and stay until they hear someone approach.
They hate the fans though. Either they run away from it or try and attack it. When we go out, I have to lock the fans away from them. Come in a few times to see fans on the floor and bite marks on the grills.

RubbishMantra · 25/07/2016 20:00

M.Cat knows where the cool spots are.

On the other hand, Little Monsieur hasn't quite worked it out yet, and just sprawls in front of me, expecting me to sort it. Or he goes for shade, making himself into a cat pancake and slithering under chests of drawers. I shouldn't laff, but tis amusing watching his back legs, splayed out, dragging himself under the furniture, like a wounded soldier. He's semi bald ffs!

I'm going to try the smoothing with a cold flannel. Poor little mite, he's only 2, and this is his first experience of an English heatwave.

cozietoesie · 25/07/2016 20:10

I had to turn off Seniorboy's electric blanket. Now that's Summer! Grin

LoreleiGilmoreIsMyBFF · 25/07/2016 20:18

I'll probably get a bashing, but I'm a cat- hater. Unfortunately, a pal emotionally blackmailed asked me to look after 'Wiggins' while she is on holiday. Darn thing insists on sleeping across my stomach every night, making me unfeasibly hot when I wake. Are cats not aware of the three date rule?

cozietoesie · 25/07/2016 20:23

What can I say? If they love you they love you! Grin

PurpleKittyKnitting · 25/07/2016 20:28

Our Misty is hot, we got a cooling mat from B&M for a fiver. We ended up putting it in his favourite sleeping place and he has gone on it a few times

RubbishMantra · 25/07/2016 20:39

Afraid not Lorelei. Cats are the most entitled beings ever, and they can be complete cocks at times. Yet when you need them, they're there with an empathic paw, and a slow blink (cat smile).

I wouldn't change my 2 fools for anything in the world.

Anyway, welcome to the darkside. You'd not be looking after your friend's entitled tyrant- cat otherwise. Grin

LoreleiGilmoreIsMyBFF · 25/07/2016 20:40

I'd be lying if I said I wan't a little emotionally attached too.... (still officially anti-cat). Tried pushing her off at regular intervals throughout the night, but she always resumes the original position. Partly hate it, partly feel disproportionately flattered.... Damn cats.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/07/2016 20:40

Loreli, just wait till he throws you off your pillow by insisting that you must admire his backside! You'll never complain about him sleeping on your tummy again.Grin
