Ollie is missing and I'm hysterical sobbing. Searching since 4am and no sign

Leopards stay quiet when vulnerable. It's how they are so successful as a species.

I can't get my hopes up though until he's back. This must be the most clicked thread on mn.

Fingers crossed xxxxxx

Do you have a torch to try to shine in his eyes??? When you get inside, he could be scared and hide stock still. I've read that you can walk right past them and their instinct overrides everything and holds them still.

He's chipped with anibase, just checked and all details are right
Please come home Ollie, your hooman needs you
I don't feel he's dead, my gut says he is stuck and will be back

Do you know where his old haunts were? When he was feral?

Is there any chance the new cat could have forced him away and he's tried to get back there?

Did you try the garage?

Report
hollinhurst84 · 19/06/2016 09:13

No news on garage, he said he would ring if he found him
He's not from this area, checked that with CPL yesterday
Tom could have chased him away but Ollie won the standoff last time

Oh he was taken in by CPL in June or so last year and was stray for four years before that

Why don't you put a note on the garage as well (you could even say you heard some sounds in there, so please can they or you check thoroughly Wink )

Please don't rely on neighbours looking in their garages/sheds but ask if you may do it yourself.
When my cat was missing I thought I could hear him crying near garage down the road but they had looked and, no he was not there. But a few days later one of their children was playing in there and spotted him. He was so terrified that he had climbed up amongst the rafters and was very well hidden. It took me a while to persuade the family to leave me alone in the garage and only then could i coax him down.

I'm trying, the problem is I'm working and there are SO many garages and sheds. 150 flyers has covered three roads in less than a 500m radius so that gives you an idea of density

My routine at the minute is get up at 5, search for an hour then go to work. Get home at 5, change and check house. Search and flyer for two hours. Home, shower and bed
My condition means I get tired v easily and work is mentally draining so am usually in bed early after work anyway
I've lost 5 lbs because I can't eat and I keep thinking it's my fault, I was meant to keep him safe and I didn't

You poor thing. I can tell from your posts that you love the little guy. Is there someone else who can do some of the legwork for you? Ollie will need you in good health when he reappears.

Oh holl it really isn't your fault. I've followed your threads on here and no one could take better care or love Ollie more.

Much as we'd love to, we can't ever protect our cats from everything that's out there. With his history there's no way Ollie could ever be housecat - freedom is a huge part of his happy, happy life.

You're doing everything and more to find your boy. I really hope there's some good news today Flowers

Sadly it's just me. I am tweeting like mad and a few people who have seen the flyers have rung to say they will watch out for him
I adore him, no conditions attached, he is my little baby!
At my haematologist on Tuesday so I will know how well I am then

Just seen this thread, and have my fingers crossed for you. Hopefully Ollie will come home soon!
It's still possible he has gotten stuck, or taken in by someone who thought he was a stray (esp with bald patches). And if something had happened he would prob have been scanned once someone saw him.
Best of luck!

I'm having to try and forget a little
It's really hard to articulate it. Not that I'm giving up but more I can't carry on like this and rushing home from work every day and my heart sinking when he's not home

In my head that means I should be serene and play the long game and wait. In reality I do that for about an hour and then have a "where the hell is he, I can't cope, come home now, what if he's hungry or scared or?"

I promised him a forever home when he came to me and that he would never have to be cold or hungry again. See, and now I'm crying again SadSad

The one thing I haven't been able to do because it takes ages to get through and I'm at work is check with the council
I need to know if they scan or keep a record of cats found that have been hit by cars etc
I don't feel I can ask anyone to ring for me so I'll just have to keep trying on my breaks

Have you tried animal search UK?

I'm sure they have people who will help you search. I'm going to google.

Just rung the council. Amazed but they do actually scan all cats involved in road accidents for microchips. So well done to that council
