@NoWordForFluffy I wish my pup would chill like that , I feel mine ( 15 weeks ) is at toddler why why why stage 🙄 . Wants to know everything and whines a lot if bored.
With regards to meeting other dogs , I've never really had any bother and try to send positive messages around other dogs not being a bad thing .

BigBundleOfFluff · 02/06/2023 14:26

Fluffpup is shockingly lazy and laid back. Spends 90% of her day waiting around for next meal. Instant arrival in the kitchen if the fridge opens though. Pic is if her hanging around on her cool mat by my feet right now.
@Riverlee funny enough Fluffpup isn't keen on the wind. She walks right beside me and glares at her ultra long fluffy tail when the wind waves it around.

I really can't remember ! My current pup is fifteen wks so she is still a bit bitey , we haven't got an ankle biter this time though 🙈 poor you .
They do get better soon , I promise!

Doseydots · 02/06/2023 18:14

Ah bless you and thank you, I am going to get the wellies out, she’s a cocker spaniel so renowned for it !

Cocopuff · 02/06/2023 18:48

@BigBundleOfFluff our emergency recall for Coco is “to the fridge” - she comes running at speed!

The raised bed looks good.

Biting phase passed by 20 weeks here - we figured out biting was hungry, bored or tired biting so worked through offering solutions - legal chew toys helped too!

BigBundleOfFluff · 02/06/2023 19:35

I see your elevated dog bed - and I raise you - the raised bed WITH shade. Arrived this afternoon. Pretty sure Fluffpup will turn her nose up at it but will see. From Aldi, arrived quite quickly. I got it in grey.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/06/2023 19:39

Oh yes, I saw those (and think you can get a shade for ours). We have a parasol in the garden, so will utilise that. FluffyPup would likely destroy a shade over the bed!

pookiedoodlepuppy · 02/06/2023 19:43

@BigBundleOfFluff Ooo that raised bed with the shade looks nice ..

Mumma2Ro · 03/06/2023 09:45

Hi guys how is everyone doing?
Our silver lab is 10 weeks and wow the nights are killing me!!
she’s an absolute dream during the day no trouble at all (as long as I don’t take my eyes off her! Lol) but the night times….. I was sleep on the living room floor with her from 4am this morning. she wakes up 3 times a night crying and just wants to be with someone. I know she’s a baby and misses her dog family but this is killing me

Riverlee · 03/06/2023 13:05

@Doseydots Can’t remember how longer the biting stage lasts but it’s one of those things when you wake up one day and realise you haven’t been bitten. One tip is to not make a game if it (easier said than done). Therefore, if they go for your feet, stand still, and don’t dance around.

@Mumma2Ro It’s a horrible stage. One thing we learnt was to wake RiverPup up late to do a wee. He’s 11 months old and we still do that. We also did a kind-of controlled crying technique. So was in the room with him at first. Then moved away so we were out of line of sight, but could still call out. Also, has he got a blanket with his mum scent on it, or you could give him an old T-shirt you’ve wearing. We also saw a good McCann YouTube clip which helped on crate training.

Gizlotsmum · 03/06/2023 16:04

@Doseydots we are seeing less biting now. Gizlotpup is coming up to 22 weeks. He still nips if excited or over tired but much less frequently. He is teething so he does like holding parts of us in his mouth but no pressure applied. He is still very jumpy when excited and has found his voice!

Doseydots · 03/06/2023 16:06

Thank you so much for replying, today I have upped her food, stood still when she had tried to bite my feet and today she’s been amazing!! I am by no means suggesting we are out of the cockerdile woods, but today has been a good day. She’s asleep and is melting my heart just looking at her !!

pookiedoodlepuppy · 03/06/2023 16:13

@Doseydots Aww so cute just chewed the toys until fell asleep .

AmyyL · 03/06/2023 16:22

We have a 15wk lab, nights had been relatively ok for the last 7 weeks, in the crate at 9pm slept until 5am up for a wee then asleep on sofa with me until 7.

But the last few nights she wakes up 11pm or 12pm yelping incredibly loudly. I take her out and try to put her back in the crate but she makes such a commotion crying that it wakes everyone up. Some are up early for work and studying for exams, so I really can't have the whole house disturbed so I've slept on the sette with her which is bad enough but she will not settle! takes up to an hour and a half of manic lunging and biting which is horrible and painful. I ignore her, lights off etc and she does eventually nod off but omg I can't be sleeping on the sofa with her every night. What may have caused the regression, teething? What should I do when I have a tiny terror constantly biting before she goes to sleep.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2023 18:14

Does anybody else grow strawberries in their garden? FluffyPup is hunting out our ripe ones and eating them before we've a chance to pick them! 🍓 🙈🤣

pookiedoodlepuppy · 03/06/2023 18:27

I don't grow strawberry's but I do have a weird dog who apparently likes them , also tomatoes and cucumber😮 ,weird puppy(never had one eat these before)

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2023 18:42

FluffyPup likes carrots, apples, cucumbers and bananas. Plus the strawberries! 🤣

pookiedoodlepuppy · 03/06/2023 18:47

Yes my husband likes to give our pup a carrot to chew on unfortunately that's what she does , chews it and leaves an orange trail all over the rug 🙄.

BigBundleOfFluff · 03/06/2023 18:57

Fluffpup will eat anything. Doesn't have to be food. Hmm

I chose not to mention the wicker linen basket (RIP!) and the sofa (thankfully under the cushions)!

Southwest12 · 03/06/2023 19:29

I feel such a bad dog mum, I've had Bob dog a month and he's at the vets already. He was fine and then went really tired and sleepy and wasn't himself and then was sick twice. He looked so sad at the vets, he didn't even flinch when the vet put the thermometer up his bum. Poor Bob dog. Hopefully some fluids will get him back to normal.

I can't think of anything he's eaten that he shouldn't, unless he found something at the park today. He is a proper scavenger and will try and eat everything. He's only been allowed out since Monday. The house is so strange without him.

Riverlee · 03/06/2023 19:57

Doseydotpup is gorgeous. He looks just like a cuddlytoy himself. What breed is here?

@AmyyL could be teething. We got some teething calming treats which helped, plus some teething toys,

Riverpup is a lab so also will eat anything - carrots, butter, tomatoes, watermelon, bread, tortillas, and any bug that was wandering across our patio.
