@BigBundleOfFluff
@Cocopuff

Will have to look back to tag others as cannot remember all names.

@Riverlee - how's Billy-no-balls Riverpup doing today?

tizwozliz · 04/09/2023 17:18

Another first today, first proper swim!

Riverlee · 04/09/2023 19:58

River pup is doing fine now. He looked a bit stoned on Friday after the op. It was quite sweet really, because he was very cuddly (he’s not usually a cuddly lab) and cried if he couldn’t see me or dh.

The vet was covered about the polyp thing on his leg and sent it away to histology. We’ll get the results later this week.

He looks very fetching in his bodysuit. For this contemplating getting a body suit, buy two incase they wee whilst wearing it.

@Riverlee ahh, little Sweetie 😘

BigBundleOfFluff · 04/09/2023 21:36

Ooo riverpup looks very snazzy! But good to hear he's doing well.

Britintheusa · 05/09/2023 02:55

@EinyLinky your post made me feel so much better. Britpup is almost 6 months and it's only just feeling like the toilet training is clicking. I feel like all my friends with dogs got there so much quicker. It is discouraging sometimes for sure. Mine's a CKC spaniel and they're definitely know to be tricky toilet trainers so I try to throw that into conversations to make myself look a little better 😂

Britintheusa · 05/09/2023 02:59

Well, luckily she's so adorable

Riverlee · 05/09/2023 07:21

Adorable she is!

Gizlotsmum · 05/09/2023 08:06

So totally failed yesterday. 2 wee accidents inside, one I could have prevented if I had trusted my gut and not my husband!

Riverlee · 05/09/2023 22:09

I hope you got your husband to clear it up!

Riverlee · 07/09/2023 14:09

Went to Pets at Home yesterday and they have the cooling mats reduced. The cashier said they don’t normally sell summer stock now (gearing up for Christmas!), but in this heat, they’ve got them out again.

BigBundleOfFluff · 07/09/2023 14:47

If it makes you feel better my 15 month dog just did a revenge wee in my hall. I'd say she was toilet trained in the first couple of months and now this....
She didn't want to come in from a walk - dropping the lead and walking on without her didn't work and neither did treats. In the end I picked up her 30kg fluffy backside and carried her in. She looked at me and then flipping cocked her leg - which she's never done before and wee'd whilst making eye contact. All I could do was step over it to get the kitchen roll!

Meeko505 · 07/09/2023 15:00

I need to join this thread! We have a 17 week old samoyed puppy who is overall an easy puppy but still feels a lot! We just had our back garden turfed with astro which means it's been off-limits for a few days, and I really feel like this has set us back on toilet training because she effectively couldn't go in the place we had been training her to go for the past few weeks!

Poor Florapup was stung by a wasp yesterday. She trotted in from the garden, opened her mouth and out it flew. In the hours that followed, the right side of her muzzle swelled-up. Thankfully, it was nowhere near her throat and didn’t effect her tongue. I gave her Cetirizine and she carried on eating and drinking normally. She had a restless evening, so a bit uncomfortable, but her face was nearly back to normal this morning and is fine now.

Welcome Meekopup. Thats v one ball of fluff you’ve got. Hope he’s okay in this heat.

Poor Florapup. Glad he’s okay now. Did you give him human ceturizine?

@BigBundleOfFluff That did make he laugh.

AnnieSnap · 07/09/2023 20:28

@Riverlee yes, my vet told me when one of my others had allergies that it’s fine for dogs.

Yeah, I've bought a cool igloo, eyeing it up wondering if I can squeeze myself into it.

AnnieSnap · 09/09/2023 12:07

I’ve left Florapup for 3 weeks and my heart is aching 😳 Currently travelling. She’s a handful, but I’m going to miss her so much.

Here she is with her DH and her woolly brother’s. I will miss them too, but they are more his dogs and Florapup is devoted to me in a way that makes my heart melt 😌

NoWordForFluffy · 09/09/2023 12:19

Ah, Annie, the welcome when you get back will be amazing! I'm sure she'll have fun in your absence, even though she'll miss you.

(Loving the Kelpies picture in the background!)

BigBundleOfFluff · 09/09/2023 12:28

Oh yes I see the Kelpies too! I love how florapup has managed to casually leave her limbs everywhere to max out her spot on the sofa.

Orangebadger · 09/09/2023 13:39

Awww lovely florapup. @AnnieSnap like that pillo pad! May look into one of those for my daughter!

New pup is arriving next week and while i'm on top of the paraphernalia I realise I haven't a clue about a routine, do people just see how it goes or get a routine in place straight away ?

Riverlee · 10/09/2023 18:40

Welcome Userxx. Can’t wait to see a photo of the new addition.

Regarding routine, a bit of both. For the first 48 hours, Theresa’s no routine as everyone got used to each other. Then we began to recognise when Riverpup was tired, either by behaviour or white crescents shape in his eyes. We did some enforced naps, and eventually a routine was established.

Cocopuff · 11/09/2023 07:15

Hopping on to say aargh teenage dogs are a nightmare! In the last week Coco has run after a passer by barking at her, run into the road, run off instead of to us when called, been aggressive to a parent at football practice and today is spitting out her working tablet (which she used to take nicely). I despair…

Cocopuff · 11/09/2023 07:16

Have a lovely holiday @AnnieSnap - am sure Florapup will have a lovely time and be v pleased to see you
