Welcome Brit Pup and AnotherBlackLab pup. Both gorgeous.

We’ve given up on furry toys now due to Riverpups destructive and de-stuffing nature, although I’ve still got a couple I could sew up.

pookiedoodlepuppy · 10/06/2023 21:26

Yes , welcome new owners and pups 👋.

Midnightstar76 · 10/06/2023 21:53

Pup has survived her first thunder storm. There was whining and some barking and she wanted to go out in it. Just crazy. When it died down and had stopped for a good while we let her out in the rain and she had full on zoomies. She is now settled and ready for bed. So so hot today that we really haven’t done much and I have encouraged her to stay in the cool inside as sweltering outside. No walks have definitely accounted for crazy zoomies just now.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/06/2023 22:15

We had a storm too, Midnight. FluffyPup was out in it for a bit (we all were!), then came inside. He was unsettled when it was on its way, but ok during it.

I took him for a walk when the thunder stopped at 9-ish. He loved leaping around in all the massive puddles. We didn't want to miss the walk else he'd be crazy!

Cocopuff · 10/06/2023 23:27

No thunder here yet but had lots of rain post collecting Coco last October - facing it when young seems to help them cope!

Wouldnt say Coco is a vigorous chewer of soft toys at all - bud she has a Santa sloth with a bow tie she likes to chew on: she terrified me last week suddenly throwing up a very sodden bow tie that she’d somehow Swallowed!

Orangebadger · 11/06/2023 09:58

I got Orangepup 2 new toys yesterday as felt so sorry for her as she has none ( destroyed!) well one ended up in the bin after 10 min of play! , the other the ears are already off!
I have ordered some tug toys from tug and ruff, they seem to last the longest and she loves a game of tug!

No storms here yet, but it's so humid I want one!

Another lightening thunderstorm very early this morning and she was a lot more calmer. Just came for her usual morning cuddle but did not seem phased this time. Must be because she had just woken up. Toys don’t tend to last very long with her an excuse to buy more. I like The Range for their selection of toys etc

BigBundleOfFluff · 11/06/2023 15:03

If it's the destuffing experience they like you could get a hol-lee bell and stuff it with an old T-shirt. I tie knots it in to make it last longer. Fluffpup properly ragdolls them.

Riverlee · 11/06/2023 19:28

Tk maxx are good for dog toys also.

tizwozliz · 12/06/2023 10:56

One week in and it's all going as expected. Not too nippy at the moment, I'm not sure if that's character, we just haven't reached that stage yet or whether her big sis is taking the brunt of it.

Gizlotsmum · 12/06/2023 12:14

How are all your pups coping in the warmer weather. Gizlotspup loves his paddling pool but we aren’t doing his afternoon walk ( normally coincides with school run so 3ish) till later. He hasn’t eaten much lunch today…

BigBundleOfFluff · 12/06/2023 13:10

Fluffpup is a winter dog and is suffering. I'm in Scotland and it's not even that hot.
We've just done a tiny walk round the block and she's cooling off on the tiles now. Lots of sleeping. I do more indoor games instead.
Annoyingly our evening walk is somewhere where they have those annoying sap producing trees so she's all sticky and it's not brushing out!

NoWordForFluffy · 12/06/2023 14:27

FluffyPup is sleeping loads too. He's unimpressed with the weather in the main!

We walk him first thing in the morning (about 6.30) then around 8-ish pm, if we can get him to wait. Sometimes he's too bouncy! He had to wait until after the storm on Saturday, which made it really late. We played a game with kibble hidden in paper and put in a cereal box to entertain him while he waited.

Doseydots · 12/06/2023 16:45

Doseypup isn’t too keen on the heat either, she had a really sloppy poo earlier which I wondered if it was because of the heat. Bless her

Ilikeblacklabsandicannotlie · 12/06/2023 16:52

Anotherblacklab is very nippy at the moment. No canine siblings so highland cow and I are taking the brunt.

PastaPup · 13/06/2023 20:18

Our boy came home yesterday! Absolutely besotted, everything we’d dreamt of and more!

tizwozliz · 14/06/2023 06:55

How was the first night @PastaPup ?

We had a five hour uninterrupted run of sleep last night, felt great!

PastaPup · 14/06/2023 10:55

He was great @tizwozliz a bit of barking (2 minutes) then settled down, wee at 4am then back to bed, wee, poo and breakfast at 7 and then back to sleep until 10am!

Last night was wee at 3am and 6am, no barking at all at bedtime. Between crying, going for a wee and back to sleep it took 5 minutes. He then slept until 9am (I think it’s the heat) and had his breakfast late

No accidents at all yet! And we’re on day 3. He was a dream at the vet for his vaccines, cuddled by the whole team and then fell asleep on the consult table.

For some reason it won’t let me attach a photo

Britintheusa · 14/06/2023 14:00

It wasn't my comment but it did make me nervous! So far we couldn't ask for a sweeter dog though and she has just had her first vet check with us and has a great report!

PastaPup · 15/06/2023 10:51

Slept through the night! Still no accidents in the house

tizwozliz · 15/06/2023 11:03

Can't wait for a full night's sleep but think it's likely to be a while yet for us. Luckily she's cute!

PastaPup · 15/06/2023 11:15

She’s adorable @tizwozliz How old is she?

Our boy is 8 weeks and 4 days old today so I’m shocked he slept through 12-7.30 but so proud of him. He’s mastered sit and down is almost there. He is just a joy.

You can tell he’s a retriever through and through. He just loves to bring his toys

tizwozliz · 15/06/2023 11:23

She's 10 weeks. Very little compared to our last pup but she's definitely growing. She showed me how she could now get her paws up to the dining table this morning!

Her sit is pretty good, we're working on duration.

Unluckycat1 · 15/06/2023 11:33

Aww @PastaPup and @tizwozliz both utterly gorgeous puppies ❤️

Unluckypup got one of those dog sprinkler pools, was scared of it unless the water was coming out at 10% power, then tore a massive hole in it 🙄 have been on the look out for a hard plastic pool but haven't come across one yet, though I'm not convinced she'll use it. We spent the weekend at various rivers and the kids were swimming and endless other dogs were swimming, and Unluckypup wouldn't do more than a very careful paddle. Ridiculous as she has such a thick coat now and could definitely do with a good cooling down.

BigBundleOfFluff · 15/06/2023 13:30

Fluffpup has a splish splash mat and is exceedingly wary of it. She knows "tidy" so I kept throwing toys in there and she dutifully retrieved them for me. Everytime I chucked another in I could see her rolling her eyes and thinking "Christ, when will this ever end?" She has a paddle in rivers but I've never seen her swim!
