@BiteyShark rescue remedy is your friend. £8 from Holland and Barrett

BiteyShark · 03/11/2019 13:28

drinkswine I think I could do with that as well as BiteyDog Grin

Do you know what makes being awake at 5am tolerable on a weekend? Having a dog lying on you snoozing away Grin. So bloody happy we caved and let him sleep on the bed.

Hi all! Had to play around with my user name. Logged out and sod knows what happened 🤷🏻‍♀️
Any way me and mug dog are fine, she's starting to calm down and relax , she's been with us and had a stable life since January.
She has her own advent calendar and loads of presents !
Hope everyone is ok

BiteyShark · 23/11/2019 15:01

What presents does mugdog have?

We used to buy BiteyDog loads but all he wants is his ball so instead he will feast well on turkey and steak over Christmas Grin.

I am very tired today, so much that I had to go for a snooze after lunch only to be woken up by BiteyDog sniffing and licking my face Shock

Sorry bitey mugdog has so far 2 toys
that I got from ALDI! They are the only toys that last more than a week! I'm getting her a new collar and some novelty leg warmers from B&M 😂
Mil got excited to tell us she had brought her 1st Xmas present, for mugdog! Not her grandchildren 🙄

Animum2 · 24/11/2019 14:21

@BiteyShark

This is the other one I was looking after, he's 14 now, my aunt got him when he was 7 and been left with the dogs trust, he was very nervous when she first got him but it didn't take long to get over that

drinkswine apparently DH was eyeing up lots of dog gifts in pets at home the other day so I suspect BiteyDog might get a present after all which he will ignore in favour of his ball

Animum2 that's the best kind of 'babysitting' Grin.

Hmmm BiteyDogs stomach is a bit off lately. Hoping it just a passing bug. Just another thing to watch out for. He has a very small (talking less than 5mm across) bump under his skin which I need to get checked out next month at the vets. I am sure it's nothing and it hasn't grown anymore in the past 6 months but there is always the 'what if' worry.

Afternoon all, hope all is well. Me and mugdog finally met another Belgian shepherd today. Very interesting talk to a lady who had owned Belgians for 40 yrs! What she didn't know ....
She could describe mugdog a behaviours by just looking at her. She said she has friends at dogs homes and Belgian Mali are now bought in frequently due to they look cute as pups but no one understands the physical and mental upkeep of them. I admit we learnt the hard way but in my defence I thought she was a whippet until she was dna tested. She informed us about them being used as working dogs especially for cattle! And how they are very family oriented and will herd the family together - or to the fridge on our house! It was fascinating to talk to her.

BiteyShark · 01/12/2019 16:10

It's so nice isn't it when someone 'gets' your breed. For us spaniel owners is usually the refusal to ever walk nicely on the lead Grin. I can just imagine MugDog herding you to the fridge 🤣.

BiteyDog is so good. I had to call DH home as he was miles away as I needed to leave the house in an emergency yesterday and wasn't sure how long I would be gone. By the time he got home he said BiteyDog did the biggest pee outside so must have really needed the loo bless him.

Happy new year everyone!

Just come for advice. Mugdog has bitten me 🙁
Never done it before. Was clearing the back garden of leaves and stuff and I must of disturbed or gone near something she had buried ( treat/bone)
I now have a mugdog sized bruised bite mark on the back of my calf. I didn't shout or hit which you shouldn't but did use a stern voice, I did cry out when she did it and she knew she had done wrong as head down, tail between legs. I put her in the house & closed the back door. I can't afford to take her back to a behaviouralist till pay day. I'm not on Facebook to look at help sites.
I'm taking her now to buy a muzzle ☹️
Any other advice ?
Please don't flame me and tell me I'm a bad owner . Feeling bad as it is

BiteyShark · 08/01/2020 16:41

drinkswine sorry I don't have a clue how to manage that one Sad. Bumping in case someone does. Or maybe as this thread is very quiet perhaps start a thread just for this issue as it may attract more traffic.

Googled it resource guarding. Going vets tomorrow to see if any physical issues as well.
All down to abuse etc

BiteyShark · 12/01/2020 19:00

How is it going drinkswine? Anything physical found at the vets?

Bitey same drinks so no probs 😂
So went and had a physical and she's in grand health. He seemed o think she's guarding her hidden food, maybe due to her being starved or natural instincts. I will phone around when free from work and see about a behaviourist again.
