drinkswine that sounds very much like BiteyDog until we let him on our bed. We tried everything and it was all hit and miss as he would just wake and clip clop about the bedroom shaking his ear and generally waking us up. We didn't want him on our bed but two years of on and off sleep deprivation forced the issue.

We have been away on holiday and I have really missed him. Just lying here in bed with him snuggled up to my back is bliss Grin

The mutts have eaten another pair of flip flops. Must remember not to leave them where they can get to them.

Attached (mutts, not flip flops)

Haha ShootsFruit Grin.

Enjoying being back at home with BiteyDog. Think he's now realised it's back to normal routine now and actually let us sleep in this morning and had to drag his arse out of bed in the end Hmm

Did some garden sweeping today, while PurplecatDog ran about the garden being no help whatsoever. Then cleaned the outside of some windows, while PurplecatDog ran about being no help whatsoever.. then we came inside and he went for a snooze. Tough life in my house let me tell you!

BiteyShark · 16/09/2019 18:46

At least PurpleDog didn't try and 'help' by eating everything you were sweeping up like BiteyDog does Grin

DBitch let out a yelp yesterday. Went outside and there was a baby pit viper (like, newborn size) on the step. It was raised up to its full height, which wasn't very impressive I have to say

wasn't sure if Dbitch had been bitten but she has her tail between her legs and wouldn't eat her dinner. couldnt find any mark on her and she's fine today, which is a relief

We seem to have acquired another reptilian visitor

it steals the dogs' leftover food.

they don't quite chase it off, more bark after it.

ShootsFruit what a lovely visitor and great entertainment for the dogs Grin.

We seem to have lots of grasshoppers about at the moment which is driving BiteyDog crazy trying to eat them Hmm

I am very embarrassed to say I had to protect me and mugdog today with a few fuck offs and a kick.
Went for a lovely on lead walk ( she's yet again hurt her leg) it was a local walk path that goes through people's land, so few sheep , cows and horses. Mugdog very well behaved no barking. Walked onto a courtyard to get into the next field, signs saying public right of way. A pack of about 10 dogs of various breeds charged at us barking. I know it's private land but if there's signs for a public foot path surely you would keep it safe for walkers . Happy to be told otherwise. Any how. Mugdog scared shitless nearly jumped into my partners arms to get away from these dogs. The owner comes out doesn't attempt to call the dogs away. Wasn't arsed that my dog was scared. Wasn't arsed that we were scared. The dogs chased us through the court yard to the field. I had to kick out at one of the dogs to keep it away as it was trying to bite at my feet! The dogs finally ran into another field and terrorised a pony instead. Not my proudest moment having to kick out at a dog . Don't think I hurt it but was trying to stop it from how I perceived an attack. ☹️

drinkswine I think it's normal instinct to want to protect them when they are scared. I would be with that many dogs as you just don't know what they are like Sad.

I have made it my mission to try and decorate the house so if I go quiet for a while it's because I am up a ladder swearing a lot Grin.

On the subject of decorating I wonder whether BiteyDog, who is brown, will end up a brilliant white colour at any point? Hmm

Mugdog was covered in white speckles by the time I had finished the ceiling. Then wagged her tail when I finished painting the walls....

I fear a disaster involving a dog and a bucket of paint taking place Shock. Might have to dig out the play pen to make sure BiteyDog can't get anywhere near any paint.

How's everyone and their dog been?
Mugdog causing the usual chaos. Dislocated her toe at the weekend. At the top of a hill . In the middle of a forest 😒 she jumped off an embankment and landed funny. So partner clicked it back into place and carried her all the way back to the road. Plan I would stay and he would run and get the car.....
Mugdog has other ideas. Let me run about and jump over bushes and show my Hooman slaves there is nothing wrong with my foot, but thanks for the lift!
Checked for bruising, swelling etc . Nothing . Walking & running fine.
What is it with this bloody dog and her feet/legs.
She's a one dog trotting disaster!
So missed out on an emergency vet trip as no ill effects. Good job as she now needs muzzling at the vets. So would I if some bugger squeezed my arse on every other visit !

Poor Mugdog. Not sure I would have been brave enough to have put the toe back into place Shock.

I have been a bit quiet as decorating the house. Couldn't have contemplated this before now but BiteyDog seems to have chilled a lot recently and just gets on his bed, huffs to show his disapproval and then watches me paint Grin

It’s been ages since I posted but I’m back.

Bluepuppy is mostly going well but he’s such a tricky dog to train.

I’ve swallowed my pride and signed us up for another Level one training class. The problem with the first class was he was almost too well behaved Shock

His usual behaviour on walks is to madly pull to try and get me moving at a more whippet-like pace and if he is really excited he will either go up on his back legs or leapin the air with all four feet in the ground. Sometimes he’s okay if he sees another dog, other times he goes mad with excitement, just wanting to play. Strangely when we go on organised group walks he’s usually pretty good.

During the class he didn’t react to the other dogs at all and did really good loose lead walking. At least I know he’s not a completely hopeless case!

I’m looking at buying him either a Ruffwear or Perfect Fit harness so we have something to use with a chest attachment. Annoyingly I’d have to but these online so won’t be able to try it on him.

blue I've dipped in and out of training all the time. I think it somehow helps to go back to training later on.

BiteyDog has a lovely white patch on his ear and face where he must have brushed against a door frame I had just painted Shock

Biteydog has just decided he wants some white markings Grin

Bluepuppy showed his true colours at training today. The weather was cool and windy and while doing loose lead walking he ended up doing some spectacular leaps in the air. I know have a harness with a chest lead connection to try. At least next week is recall week. We’re actually good at that!

Ooo maybe you could train bluepup to jump on command and say it's his party trick Grin.

I know this thread is now very quiet but need a little moan Wink.

I am shattered. BiteyDog didn't like the loud bang type fireworks and kept running into the spare room. Except he wouldn't stay in there so kept coming back into ours and waking us up. Ended up sleeping in the spare room with him then he decided he needed a pee at 4am after which he happily snored away whilst I couldn't get back to sleep.

Not looking forward to a repeat performance tonight. Bloody knackered good job I love the furry boy

Oh no, poor Bitey dog Sad

Luckily my dog doesn’t care about fireworks or thunderstorms which is surprising considering how highly strung he is about most things.

I’ve nearly finished our second go at level one obedience. Think this might be the end of our group training days. It’s has just sooo hard to keep is attention. Sometimes I think he’s not that bright but then he’ll do something smart and surprise me. Maybe he just has a very independent sighthound mindset. At least we’ve tried!

One positive is his recall is pretty good and since move to a front attach harness walking has become less stressful for both of us.

He used to be fine with loud noises but it all regressed after his first vet admission when aged one. It's like he went in confident and came out a nervous dog.

Tbh I would say if you have cracked recall then some of the other obedience stuff might just come with age. Really noticed a difference now BiteyDog is 3.
