BiteyDog is getting used to the extra daycare now but just like me he gets to the end of the week and looks very tired Grin

Weekends are now a leisurely affair to let him chill but today he will be 'helping' me weed the garden Hmm

SquirrelDog is harassing a wasp. Hmm Idiot.

BiteyShark · 03/08/2019 13:58

They never learn do they. Clearly if it moves flies then it must want to play Grin.

BiteyDog has been very good. He just sat with his ball and stared at me whilst I was in the garden. Finally finished and he's fast asleep next to me on the sofa.

Yep done the garden as well here. Let mugdog have one more roll in the curry plant before it goes in the front garden😂

BiteyShark · 04/08/2019 09:25

Ponders if MugDog will find something else disgusting to roll in as a protest for no curry plant Grin.

Mugdog thinks she's a stunt dog, and aged my partner by 10 years today . Went for a nice stroll around a local lake. Dog runs up an embankment, that bits fine, she jumped off it. Must of been about 20 ft!
Flew off the top , landed on all 4 paws and trotted off.
Partner was white in the face, I missed it as on sheep watch.
Checked her over. Nothing.

Oh and big note to self never ever ever again buy a squeaky rubber chicken 😬 it may just disappear at this rate

You want to hope that MugDog eats the squeak soon Grin

landed on all 4 paws and trotted off. Are you sure MugDog isn't a cat in disguise? Shock

Advice needed.
Top of our garden I have a mature hedge. The neighbours behind put a fence up.
Dog escaped today into their garden 😬 I had to go round and find her. So as I'm chatting to them I can see their water butt has fallen and broke the fence. Told the lady said I would look at it my side but I will have to cut the hedges right back.
So I've cut the hedge so I could climb threw. Pushed the water butt back into their garden and fixed the fence.
Now the dilemma , they want me to pay for them to have a new fence. I know it's my responsibility to keep dog controlled in my garden, she's now on a spike and long lead. Until the butt slipped and broke their fence we had no problem. Surely it's their issue as it's their fence?
Partner is saying it's not our problem their fence is broke. We didn't break it. Pass don't know what to suggest 🤷🏻‍♀️

BiteyShark · 08/08/2019 18:13

I think (no expert) but as it's their fence and their waterbutt that broke it it's up to them to repair the fence.

However, who actually owns the boundary and has a responsibility to maintain it? It gets tricky because if it's your boundary then you might want to get legal advice as to what that involves if it's your hedge but their fence and which one is the boundary. It also gets tricky if you want to keep your dog safe but off lead as then you might both agree that a fence is good and both contribute to it. I remember seeing something online that if someone pays to put up a fence on a boundary that they don't own they need to ensure that it doesn't mean they take responsibility for the boundary in the future hence why I think these things are very complicated from a legal viewpoint.

Do you have legal cover on your house insurance as it might be prudent to know your rights before deciding anything and sometimes the cover also has an advice line. However, if it's their fence and their boundary and you don't care about a fence then maybe you don't do anything and tell them you didn't damage it so why pay?

Personally if it wasn't my fence and I didn't cause the damage it would depend on how much I wanted a fence up for the dog. I 'may' decide to contribute 'something to it' if the other side was struggling to pay for it.

Thanks Bitey . If they want to replace the fence for something abit more substantial I'm happy to contribute. Dog is on a long line so can't go anywhere. I did try not to laugh when the lady said her husband thought he was seeing things when he spied a black dog sunbathing on their back lawn 😂

Squirrel26 · 09/08/2019 16:58

I don’t know anything about the legalities of fences and boundaries, but If it is t your fence and you didn’t break it...then I’d be pretty cross at them saying you have to pay to replace it. I’d be slightly tempted to make a fenced bit well inside your garden for MugDog if you have space - but then I’m petty like that. Grin

I left work early to see SquirrelDog as I’m going out later. He’s not in. Hmm

Is SquirrelDog having a sneaky pint at the pub? Grin

I'm listening to BiteyDog getting more and more irate because DH isn't home yet and he knows it time and he wants to play no way am I sitting outside in the gale force wind throwing a ball

OP posts:
BiteyShark · 10/08/2019 06:09

The joy of having a spaniel is seeing their ears flap about and take off in the wind Grin

You joke; SquirrelDog once came home late because he'd been for a pub lunch with the dog walker. Grin

drinkswineoutofamug · 11/08/2019 10:31

Don't know wether to be proud or vomit but we had a strange holes in the front garden . Never knew what was down there. Found out today. Rats. Mugdog caught it by the tail. Clean kill and then tossed it about in play. Very excited dog and very proud partner !
She's up to date with all jabs so hoping she will be ok.

BiteyShark · 11/08/2019 12:47

Well done MugDog. At least she didn't leave a maimed rat for you to dispose off Grin

drinkswineoutofamug · 11/08/2019 13:26

Just know rats don't live alone.

BiteyShark · 11/08/2019 19:38

Well I guess that's MugDog's mental and physical exercise sorted for the next few weeks on 'rat watch' ShockGrin

drinkswineoutofamug · 12/08/2019 13:47

Oh Bitey she's obsessed with sniffing around the front garden now. I'm glad it was a clean kill and she played with the corpse rather then letting it run about . She's earned her keep for once

mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork · 12/08/2019 15:51

Joyfuldog used to go to the pub with the dogwalker (and her aged mum). Sadly, we have a different dogwalker now so I think they stick to the rules but she does like this one too so that's OK.

Squirrel26 · 13/08/2019 16:22

Grin SquirrelDog was also with dog walker and dog walker’s mum! (Who inexplicably likes him despite the fact he once flattened her tiny dog by failing to notice it and running straight over the top of it.)

drinkswineoutofamug · 13/08/2019 18:36

Mugdog yet again has cut her pads. No blood , no vet trip needed but may be investing in some doggie steel toe capped boots for her.

BiteyShark · 13/08/2019 19:03

BiteyDog is just too excited in a pub that it means we can't relax and we don't go enough to get him used to it.

He's been to his backup daycare this week so is super tired and my leg has gone numb as he has decided to crash out after dinner and use it as a pillow Shock

Oh no poor MugDog Sad Good luck on getting boots on her Wink

BiteyDog was an arse last night. Got me up 4 times for no particular reason. Would it be wrong to keep poking him now he is sleeping to remind him not to be an arse again Hmm
