Dogs on sofas?

Quick poll...is your dog allowed on your sofa?I always said no but now I think I'd quite like her cuddled up to me .DH totally against it.We have washable covers...

Yes all of mine are allowed on the sofa. It’s leather so cleans easy and all 4 love it.

Yes....they are there right now. We have been known to sit on the floor.

I'm currently lying in bed with one dog at my feet, and one in DP's spot. DP works late most nights, and I'd be so lonely coming up to bed alone and making the dogs stay downstairs!

I defy anyone to look at this face and tell her she's not allowed on the sofa

No, mainly because they are big dogs and there would be nowhere for us to sit. But a big part is that the bitch is very bossy and I don’t want them squabbling about who sits where. I can see her getting territorial about sofas too and not letting people sit down. She is one of those dogs that you have to be absolutely consistent with or she takes the piss. It’s sad, as boy dog would be very pleased to share a sofa with me.

My dog has his own sofa in the kitchen! And I put a blanket on the main one in the sitting room.

Ddog2 usually sits on the sofa - she's here now, with her head on my lap. But when ddog1 goes and curls up on one of the chairs, ddog2 will decide that isn't allowed, and will go over there and think evil thoughts at ddog1 until she gets down.

I caught her at it this afternoon....

While I was RTFT our GS padded upstairs and hopped onto the bed next to me into a giant GS-shaped donut. DH will come up in an hour or so and find us both fast asleep, and will briefly contemplate which of us he kicks off the bed so he can get in. He (usually) makes the right decision but if is always touch and go.

While GS is allowed on the bed we don’t allow him on the sofas - there is just so much of him no one else would be able to sit down!

Gave up a long time ago. Pomeranian will only share with humans though, and reckons he can only jump up onto the biggest sofa.

Before we got our first dog, I was adamant there would be no dogs on the furniture. My resolve cracked in the first 10 minutes.

My justification is they're rescues who had shit lives and they've spent enough time on cold hard floors and sleeping on the streets, from now on they only have comfort.

We did have to make a FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NO MAKING FORTS OUT OF THE SODDING THROW BLANKET rule though
