Dogs on sofas?

Quick poll...is your dog allowed on your sofa?I always said no but now I think I'd quite like her cuddled up to me .DH totally against it.We have washable covers...

Yes, our sofas have blankets on them. The theory was we would take the blankets off for visitors but we don't get any

Another whippet slave here. I can sort of understand why some people don't want dogs on sofas with their doggy smells and mud but Whippeys are just skinny, long legged cats really so it's completely different

Yes! Where else would they sit? 4 sofa dwelling dogs here, luckily have 3 large sofas although they all prefer the one by the window.

The kids do more damage than the dogs!

Oh dear. I posted up thread that I allow my dog on the sofa and bed as she's small, doesn't smell and lets me wipe her paws if it's wet out.

Well, have I had my comeuppance. Getting ready to go out this morning, dog was staying at home, sent dog out to wee. She was out in the garden a while but I was busy so didn't notice that she'd been out there digging a deep hole in the muddy grass - never done that before - and she'd come in with wet grassy mud between her claws, gone straight upstairs onto the bed that, not only had I changed last night, but on which I'd used, for the first time, my lovely new expensive duvet.

Don't know what to say to her really.

Yes but I'm waiting for estate agent to come and value house, so have put new throws in the dog-trashed sofas. DDOg is looking VERY put out at having to sit on the floor, oh sorry the rug.
A throw or rug on one bit sounds a good idea, but ours just moves to whichever chair or sofa you've just got out of, so not sure it would work here.

Yep, she's allowed on the sofa and sleeps on my bed every night too.

She's also, it appears, decides my bed throw is hers and sometimes requests I take it downstairs and put it on the sofa for her!

Our old boy has to be lifted up now so we need a ramp or a stannah lift. Or we could put the sofa cushions on the floor and all sit there with him.

Ours is only allowed on one of the sofas. He was most put out when we got rid of our old leather sofa & banned him totally from the fabric ones. We felt so mean that we got a blanket for the oldest sofa & now he’ s happy again! Still not allowed on the posh new sofa though- he’s tried his luck a couple of times & been roundly told off. Dog sofa snuggles are the best.
