Morning.

Just setting this up before the old one fills up.

For anyone new, this is a cafe where you can come, eat (calorie free) drink and be merry.

There are kittenbees in the café, which are kittens the size of bees, they are friendly but do nibble the pastries.

Outside are their larger 'cousins' the Bumblecats, they are not as friendly.

Leo is a Lemur who now runs the outdoor dog wash.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Outside is a water feature and a petting zoo.

@ScottBakula I think you might need to accompany him. Maybe he will find a dog to wash.

Does he still have his waistcoat ? I think we could attach a harness to it so I have at least a little control of him

sashh · 15/06/2024 01:37

Morning.

@ScottBakula that's an idea. I'm not sure how he would react.

I think he needs more errands so I'm going to send him to feed the animals in the petting zoo and then for a long stand.

I think Ukraine is needing some love at the moment so lets have Ukrainian food, omelettes with salad and salmon.

Florence is making brown bread to serve on the side and Fernando and vodka on the side.

BBQ sausages and beans sounds great! May I compliment you @sashh on this marvellous cafe? I'd like gallons of coffee and toast with my sausage and beans and I think I'll lie around here all day eating it. Maybe a rainy swim in the pool later

sashh · 16/06/2024 07:29

Morning.

Well sausage and beans are very popular so I will keep them on the menu. As the BBQ is out I'll add some coiled cumberland sausage and a few burgers.

Florence is making honey cakes and Fernando is making a meade and honey cocktail.

Morning.

Another quiet day it seems, I'll do a few laps in the pool.

Just found this thread - I’m on nightshift tonight. Decided to nap yesterday and stay up ‘late’ tonight to get me in nightshift mode.. however it’s now 05:20am and I’ve not been tired enough to go to bed, which is ridiculous!
I’ve been up crocheting and watching telly. I really should go to bed now, this is a bit ridiculous.

ScottBakula · 17/06/2024 05:32

Good morning @TheresNoFudgeHere , welcome to the café.
I work night shifts sometimes , it really messes with your body clock doesn't it.

@sashh Salmon salad sounds good can you make me a pack up for lunch please.

sashh · 17/06/2024 05:50

Salmon salad pack ups, not a problem, I'll throw in a scotch egg as well.

ScottBakula · 17/06/2024 06:01

Oh that's a great addition, thanks @sashh .

sashh · 18/06/2024 03:36

Morning.

Well it seems a lot of people are working shifts so I'll make up some bento boxes to take out. Hard boiled eggs, cheese, fruit, cous cous and ham sandwiches shaped like dinosaurs.

Florence is baking Japanese cheese cake and Fernando is making lemon saur.

ScottBakula · 18/06/2024 07:01

I am on earliest so far this week ( god knows what's happening tomorrow!) I have been up since 4am , so a bento box of goodies sounds very good.
Can I have t-rex shaped ham and cheeses butties please.

sashh · 18/06/2024 07:59

I'll have a look for T-rex cutters.

Morning.

Well people seem to still be on shift work so lets head to Bangladesh for tiffin tins of lamb modhu, veg rice and and shag aloo.

Florence is making chapatis and Fernando is making alcoholic lassi.

Leo is walking all the animals in the petting zoo, one or two at a time.

OP posts:
ScottBakula · 19/06/2024 08:55

A tiffin tin would be nice , i am on a random time shift today , I think I am finishing at 6pm but who knows 🤔😡 .

Can I have a mango and rum lassi tonight please, I think I will need it !

Leo will have to be careful them goats may take advantage of been in pairs with just him to watch over them.

@TopOfTheCliff , not heard from you for a bit , how are you doing ?

sashh · 20/06/2024 02:44

I'll stick tot he packing up again. I think a sort of tapas type foods would go down well. Florence has made some lovely olive bread and some crusty rolls.

I put in a selection of hams, cheese, olives, cherry tomatoes, grapes and a green salad with a small jar of salad dressing.

Fernando has suggested sparkling cider to go with it so that's what you are getting.

OP posts:
ScottBakula · 21/06/2024 00:08

Well I didn't finish work untill 9pm so I am starving .

Tapas sounds great , can I have a few stuffed vine leaves too please.

I have just opened a can of cider , Fernando is right it's just what I needed

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 21/06/2024 00:12

Ooh, tapas tiffin sounds lovely!
Hope everyone is ok x

ScottBakula · 21/06/2024 00:35

Hi @Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket , we could have a picnic together.
I am dog tired tho so please excuse me if I doze off.

sashh · 21/06/2024 05:33

Morning. Well the packing up seems to be going down well so I'm going to do a Yorkshire 'bait' box.

Bread and dripping, Yorkshire puddings with golden syrup and fruit cake with wensleydale.

Florence is making some buns and Fernando is experimenting with Timothy Taylor beers.

OP posts:
ScottBakula · 21/06/2024 08:52

Ooh I love a proper bait box , please can I have my bread and dripping fried and a thick slice of Brack .

A couple of bottles of TT dark landlord will go down very well tonight.

ScottBakula · 21/06/2024 09:09

@AnneKipankitoo
Do you fancy coming to the café every now and then ?

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 21/06/2024 10:12

Sounds good @ScottBakula !
Bait was what my dad always called a packed dinner, whatever was in it.

ScottBakula · 21/06/2024 12:52

So did my grandad , he had a batted old tin and flask that went to work with him every day. He was a builder so it got some rough treatment!

sashh · 22/06/2024 03:51

My grandad worked in a woolen mill but he also had a metal ti bait box.

Glad you enjoyed it.

I'm doing Smørrebrød from Denmark. Open sandwiches made with sourdough ryebread. I'm going to break all the rules and not start with herring, I'll put that in a pot tot he side.

I think beef and horse radish with a sliced pear on top. Florence is obviously making danish pastries and Fernando is mixing cherry heering cocktails.
