Morning.

Just setting this up before the old one fills up.

For anyone new, this is a cafe where you can come, eat (calorie free) drink and be merry.

There are kittenbees in the café, which are kittens the size of bees, they are friendly but do nibble the pastries.

Outside are their larger 'cousins' the Bumblecats, they are not as friendly.

Leo is a Lemur who now runs the outdoor dog wash.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Outside is a water feature and a petting zoo.

Morning.

@ScottBakula oh that sounds horrible, lets make breakfast about beating a cold.

Florence is making honey cakes, Fernando has whisky and lemon with hot water. Leo is obviously making eggs he says scrambled will be good for you.

I'll make a kedgeree the spices should help.

That all sounds perfect @sashh thankyou.
It is really cold again this morning and very slippy . I am on my way into work atm and am dreading the last stretch of walking. It's along a unadopted foot path that gets very waterlogged so it's going to be like a ice rink again this morning.

ScottBakula · 08/01/2025 08:54

Anyone fancy joining me on my walk to work ? One image is just using the cameras flash the other is with a very powerful little torch .
Walking along here takes about 5/7 mins
I asked the council if they'd put some lights here and cut back the trees but apparently they can't afford it.

That looks like you need walking boots. I wonder if you twisted an ankle they would find out they could put lights along it.

ScottBakula · 08/01/2025 13:40

It is really muddy at times esp a bit further along the path .
Behing me the path is very uneven due to the rain washing the soil / gravel away.

I have fallen because of this so has at least one of my colleagues. That's when I got intouch with the council, but no joy.
It's in the middle of a industrial estate so it's not like the middle of the country where there is no mains power.

sashh · 09/01/2025 06:19

Morning.

Oh @ScottBakula that's terrible. How is the cold doing?

Well today Florence is making farls and soda bread so I'll do bacon and Leo is frying eggs, so bacon, egg and farls for breakfast with soda bread and tomato soup for bait.

Fernando is teaching the kittenbees to drop spices in to the warm cider.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 09/01/2025 07:53

Brrr! I'll walk with you @ScottBakula we can hold each other up.
I don't know what farls are but a bacon and tomato buttie sounds good!
Maybe a very chocolatey hot chocolate to go with it :-)

sashh · 09/01/2025 08:30

@Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket One hot chocolate on its way. I'll make it a flask with a couple of mugs so you can share it. A farl is like a potato cake.

OP posts:
Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 09/01/2025 08:52

Oh amazing! Can I have it as the bread on my bacon sandwich?

sashh · 09/01/2025 09:05

Not a problem.

ScottBakula · 09/01/2025 17:01

I am still in a very firm grip of my cold , I am worn out .
It's snowed again here so we have snow on ice and very thick fog .
I need all the help I can get @Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket .
I have finished work for today but tomorrow I'm working untill about 9pm 😫.

Bacon and tomato buttie with hot chocolate sounds excellent please can u have some @sashh

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 09/01/2025 19:33

Ah that's rubbish @ScottBakula . I feel very pampered with my tube journeys in the warm! Hope you feel better soon x

sashh · 10/01/2025 03:27

Morning.

Well I seem to have more energy so the B12 is working I think.

It's cold and frosty here so we need something warming, lets have a breakfast from South East Asia, a garlic soup, followed by rice and fried fish.

Florence is making pancakes and Fernando is serving hot chocolate with a selection of syrups and spirits.

Leo is making rolled Japanese omelettes.

OP posts:
sashh · 11/01/2025 06:13

Morning.

@ScottBakula Leo has persuaded the Bumblecats to carry mini torches to light your way down the cold wet lane.

We need something warming again so lets head for Switzerland. Florence is making various cakes with cherries, cinnamon and apricots.

I'm making milchreis which is rice pudding with applesauce. Fernando is obviously offering us brandy and I have no idea where he got the St Bernard from.

For pack up I'm sending cheese fondue and crusty bread.

I am glad the b12 is working for you sashh , hopefully it will keep you feeling on top of things .
Aww lie is so good , I really like the idea of the bumble cats lighting my way.
Yesterday I ended up working until 10.30 but I was at a different site so was able to get a tram , it was still absolutely freezing but at least I where I was going .

Please can I have some cinnamon cake and custard please

PoopingAllTheWay · 12/01/2025 00:52

ScottBakula · 07/01/2025 22:08

Evening all, it's cold and wet here again so I am happy to trust a Falkland breakfast. But can you hold the mutton choose I'm not keen on them.

I am absolutely full of a flaming cold that I can not shake , I am living on soup , honey, lemon and beecheems.
It's also making my fairly mild asthma a whole lot worse .

Beechems always made my asthma worse when i was younger

sashh · 12/01/2025 05:49

Morning.

As ever cold and wet so I'm making crispy bacon with chopped tomatoes with a little water added so it is a bit like a soup.

Florence has made some breakfast rolls to dip in and Fernando is making vodka cocktails.

Leo is working with the kitten bees to light your way to work and back @ScottBakula

Morning.

t's quiet again so I'm going to help Leo with his knitting, help yourselves to anything / everything.

OP posts:
ScottBakula · 13/01/2025 11:31

It's a late start for me today .
I am so glad it's a little bit warmer too.

I wonder if Leo could knit leg warmers for the goats.

I think I will just have coffee and toast for now.

sashh · 14/01/2025 02:02

Morning.

@ScottBakula please don't give him ideas.

It seems people are busy so I'm just going to set up chaffing dishes with sausages, beans, eggs, bacon etc.

Leo is boiling eggs and fitting them with egg cosies.

Florence is making chocolate brownies and Fernando is experimenting with port and brandy.

OP posts:
Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 14/01/2025 12:33

Mmmm sausage and beans... Maybe in a bun with some ketchup? Don't mind if I do!
I'll pop the kettle on and make a big pot of tea if anyone wants to join x

ScottBakula · 14/01/2025 20:15

That sounds good to me .
Did Leo knit the cosies?

Has anyone ever had a stottie cake breakfast?
It's a full English/ Irish/ Scottish breakfast on a stottie cake which are lime huge barm cakes , they are about 10 inches across slightly denser than barmcakes and very filling.
Me and 2 other workmates got one between us on most Fridays.
They were a bit messy but bloody lovely.

sashh · 15/01/2025 04:58

Morning.

Yes Leo made egg cosies, they are currently on the heads of the Bumblecats.

@ScottBakula they sound lush, I think that's what I will make, I'll get Florence making the stotties and Fernando can surely come up with a suitable cocktail.

Morning

I really need to sleep but the last two nights have been awful

Anyone else been struggling the last few nights? Someone mentioned the full moon?

sashh · 15/01/2025 08:09

I'm actually sleeping better / more, I think the B12 jabs are working.
