Apparently it's starting soon! Sad that our Cassie isn't in it anymore (RIP) but we've still got Sunny.
It's one of my favourite TV shows. I now feel the need to binge the first four series again.

Brilliant! I didn't know there was another series.

RegainingTheWill2023 · 03/02/2023 23:37

I absolutely love Unforgotten and was devastated by the end of season 4. I'm looking forward to season 5 but am also really anxious as I can't imagine it without Cassie. Everything crossed they've got the casting and storyline right!

Cassie was great. However, The Bay worked with a change in lead character so here's hoping. I do like Nicola walker though and it was her acting rather than the series itself I liked

There's a series of The Bay without Morven Christie?

Hurrah!!!!

Sporty2022 · 18/02/2023 18:49

I was late to watching this and binged watched all the series about a year ago.

Nicola Walker was great in this, I was surprised that a new series is coming back soon.

I actually thought was was just as good as Line Of Duty.

TennisWithDeborah · 19/02/2023 09:48

Excellent news!

longwayoff · 19/02/2023 18:39

Oh hurrah! A favourite and thoughtful programme. Hope it maintains it's very high standard.

viques · 19/02/2023 19:43

I see Hayley Mills is in it too, I always like it when she pops up, she can be unpredictable!

Sporty2022 · 21/02/2023 15:12

It’s clever how they connect all the different characters together, once the body has been discovered.

SgtCatherineCawood · 21/02/2023 15:36

I was a latecomer to Unforgotten. I watched series 1 and 2 on Netflix then 3 and 4 weren't available anywhere! I saw this thread and realised I had forgotten (haha) to ever look again. Now binge watched 3 and 4 on ITVX and ready for series 5!

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/02/2023 11:37

Can't wait

1-4 was fab

Tho I was omfg when they killed her off

Looking forward to next week

Will this be tv pace ?

UnattendedPotato · 22/02/2023 12:52

I found Nicola Walker did a good short series called Annika in 2021 ( on Sky/Now!) which filled a gap while waiting for more Unforgotten; though it will be different without her!

Yes that was good

Hope for s2

Esp with the ending

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 22/02/2023 13:16

Oh I'm looking forward to this! Have all enjoyed all series so far. I'll miss Cassie but the good thing about the show is that it didn't all hang on her. The cases are all so gripping, as they weave in the different players in each case. And the rest of the recurring cast are ace too. I love Sunny.

SgtCatherineCawood · 22/02/2023 13:46

Oooh I have Anikka on my planner waiting to be watched, didn't realise it had been there so long though 🫣

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/02/2023 23:38

@Shekissedagirlandshelikedit is this going to be a weekly thread or are you all going to binge on itvx

TrashyPanda · 26/02/2023 23:39

Starts tomorrow!

Also radio series (BBC R4) Annika Stranded

Netaporter · 27/02/2023 03:29

Ooh was just reading an article about the new series! Sinéad Keenan is taking Nicola Walker’s place which is great casting.

Given the interest in the last series, I’d imagine they’ll be screening week to week unless ITV need to drive traffic to their bloody awful-to-use ITVX service?

Yeah, it's been confirmed all episodes will be available to watch from 10pm tonight. They didn't do this with the last series.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/02/2023 08:19

Yes all will be available to watch on xiitv

Which bugs me. Why they can't show them after all been shown

Netaporter · 27/02/2023 08:21

@Blondeshavemorefun it says to me, no confidence in this series being any good 😢plus driving traffic to ITVX which has a glitch in it meaning sometimes you are played episode 9 after you’ve watched 2. Happened to me watching Maternal and something else which had flashback timelines. Infuriating.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/02/2023 08:26

Yes I'm thinking the same

It was sooooooo good having to wait for happy valley. To dissect episodes and not be able to binge. I don't anyway

Hence why I went to know if this thread will be tv paced @Shekissedagirlandshelikedit

If not I will do a tv pace s5 one

Southeastdweller · 27/02/2023 10:55

It’s just what they do now in general with TV shows, but with something that was so highly acclaimed and hyped in the media - Happy Valley - I can see why they did broadcast weekly as it made it more of an event and helped gain ratings, maybe.

Watching weekly feels old-fashioned and weird to me now so I’ll be watching all six episodes of Unforgotten this week and may start a spoilers thread later depending on what the OP of this thread wants to do.
