Strictly 2022 Sequins at the Ready!

Starting a new thread as can't seem to find one yet, and suddenly feeling very aware that we are likely only days away from line up announcements!

Who do we all think will be on the line up this year? I thought last year was one of the best line ups, a good mix.

Rumours so far include Gino D'Campo, Scarlett Moffat, Steph McGovern, Dawn French..

The first announcements last year were on Wednesday 4th August, so hopefully the same again this year..

Was thinking Earlier it won't be long until the strictly launch ! Cannot wait just hope we get some more famous stars this year and not you tube influencers or Cbb presenters !

One bit of interesting gossip will be to see Kai and Nadiya together now that they’re an official couple. Will they couple up more in the pro dances?

I feel like quite a lot of the professional dancers left after last year didn't they?

I love Scarlet Moffat but I feel that there would the usual accusations of cheating (there's one every year) as I'm sure she danced competitively up until she was about 20 or so!

I was convinced they had a thing, but now wonder if it was a mutually agreed cover up to allow the rumour mill to go in that direction rather and out him and Nadiya.

With 4 newcomers, so it'll be interesting to see who gets a partner..

I know he's not widely liked on these boards but I'd love Neil to get a ringer.

I think Giovanni is due a duffer.

Will miss Oti and Aljaz.
Look forward to seeing Nikita again (shirt - ooh, it's levitating - made me smile for weeks). This year, I am going to place a bet I swear (last two years, have called it pre-series but not got to bookies).
Are Nadija and Kai still together? (my shipping of Kai and AJ was clearly off).
Ex Neighbours alumni as a signing? They have had Jason and Holly. Would love Natalie Imbrugulia. Susan and Karl Kennedy actors are touring the UK.
Wouldn't mind Grimmy doing it. Dawn French has always said she would only want to do it if taken seriously so if she were tempted, I would give her to Gio.
Gok would be good signing and Mawaan Rizwan (taskmaster series 10).

Yeah I don’t think he and AJ were ever a thing. Nadiya broke up with her fiancé so maybe that’s why they were happy to let that store take the spotlight.

Do we think they’ll have any more same sex couples this year? I think Jon and Johannes will be tough to beat after last year and it will be difficult not to compare any new couple to them, especially if it’s Johannes again

Apparently Russell Brand has been following Strictly insta.
Cannot see it being his thing but I wouldn't mind him as a signing - he is marmite on here though and it would be tough on his family with all the sleb twaddle.

I saw many of the professionals in Burn The Floor The Reunion a couple of weeks ago, it was absolutely amazing and of the current professionals who were performing Diane (partnered with Kevin) was outstanding, much better on the stage than on TV. Although Nadia wasn't there she is definitely living with Kai in a flat together. I don't think Kai was ever with AJ, a bit like when you saw Gio and Rose together on the live tour, it was obvious the chemistry was on the TV and not in real life.

I think they'd probably have a same-sex female couple this year so you won't get so many comparisons. Or perhaps one f/f and one m/m.

Yes I think Dianne will as she had the bad luck with Robert Webb last year and Jason Gilkinson obviously highly rates her to partner her with Kevin (Jason is a Burn the floor founder/producer).

Now that would be an interesting signing.. I can't see him doing it but I think he'd take the training quite seriously if he did and be in it to win it.. I'd like to see him do it, and his tv work does seem to have dried up.. so who knows!

Do you think we've missed out ever having Rylan as a dancer now that he's got the ITT gig? He'd be fab, but I'm not sure he'd do it now.

I wonder if Joe Wickes would do it? His wife's expecting a baby so not sure he'd do it this year though..
