Strictly 2022 Sequins at the Ready!

Starting a new thread as can't seem to find one yet, and suddenly feeling very aware that we are likely only days away from line up announcements!

Who do we all think will be on the line up this year? I thought last year was one of the best line ups, a good mix.

Rumours so far include Gino D'Campo, Scarlett Moffat, Steph McGovern, Dawn French..

The first announcements last year were on Wednesday 4th August, so hopefully the same again this year..

I remember her from her HearSay days and I don't remember the dancing being as good as day Steps. Then I don't want Corrie so she went off my radar. I now occasionally watch her on the bbc version of this morning

Just checking in - can't believe we are at the announcement stage already!

Good start in that I have heard of the first 2 contestants 😃and they should both be great.

Yes, I gave up entirely last year as I had hardly heard of any of them. In fact I can barely recall who they were even now, bar craft lady and him out of McFly.

I think it might have been Hear'say ? There was swaying and side stepping a bit of a spin but definitely not dancing.

I saw them in concert aswell - there was definitely dancing. Not quite Steps level (who I also saw in concert 😳) but it was reasonable.

Pure and Simple is too slow for any of the recognised dance styles, though I wouldn't put it past Dave Arch's Wunnerful Orchestra to wrangle into waltz time. It might do for a contempo-waft.

I haven't heard of the 2 announced so far. But I hadn't heard of AJ or John last year either and they became my faves, so it doesn't matter.

I don't think Kym Marsh is a ringer - just looked up her solo stuff on and she just sways and poses- if she was able to dance, they would have got her to dance! I am looking forward to seeing her journey though.

I want Owain Wyn Evans to be a celebrity dancer this year.

He was amazing with his CIN drumming session and has just been on ‘Freeze the Fear’ with Diane.

I'm actually mainly surprised Will Mellor hasn't done it already, he seems the type.

And actually I think he might be the ringer, he's done musicals and I have a vague recollection that he went to a musical theatre drama school.
