Strictly 2022 Sequins at the Ready!

Starting a new thread as can't seem to find one yet, and suddenly feeling very aware that we are likely only days away from line up announcements!

Who do we all think will be on the line up this year? I thought last year was one of the best line ups, a good mix.

Rumours so far include Gino D'Campo, Scarlett Moffat, Steph McGovern, Dawn French..

The first announcements last year were on Wednesday 4th August, so hopefully the same again this year..

I’ve been wanting Zara Tindall to do it for ages. I think she’d be fab.
We usually have someone from GMB don’t we?

I made some earlier suggestions but having pondered a bit more how about any of the following:

Laura Hamilton (Place in the Sun)
Fiona Bruce - BBC usually have someone or Jay or someone from the Repair Shop
Katherine Jenkins
Matt Whitlock
Steve Cram
Nina Hussain (?) - ITV newsreader

Of course if they want someone in the News long shot Rebecca Vardy

Geri Horner or Mel Chisholm
Brian Cox

Mel C was on a recent series of Dancing with the stars - she said the U.K. series doesn't pay enough for the months of work.
I don't think Geri could leave her son for all those weekends as her husband travels the world with Formula 1.

Jay did that godawful only fools n horses routine at Xmas, didn't he? I guess he could be persuaded to do a full run though I'd prefer the French bloke.

Fred Siriex, that's the one.
Would still like Martin Kemp but he has turned it down previously - would like him and Shirlie on it at the same time.
Or Andrew Ridgeley and Keren.
And Tom Read Wilson would be awesome, loved him on the home chef show ages back.

I saw Janette and Aljaz's Oscars gig a few months ago. Thought it might be cheesy- and it was a bit in parts- but overall really enjoyed it. They didn't dance together much because of the height difference, but even with other partners, it's amazing how good they are. Makes you realise how much they dumb it down for Strictly. I will miss Aljaz and Oti.

I would love Dawn French, Marian Keyes ( she has been asked), or a Lioness.
Not a fan of Neil or Dianne but both deserve ringers this year. As does Luba.

Aw I'd throw a vote Ryan's mum's way, she's lovely. Marian always says she could not do it, only wants to watch. Same for Richard Osman. They haven't had authors, have they?
Or I'd say get Jacqueline Wilson as a same sex partnership.
Aljax and Janette have been likened to pillarbox and post on upcoming masked dancer....

I'm half expecting it to be full of people from Love island or TikTok that I have no idea about who the hell they are !

I love hearing how dance partners have stayed in each other's lives, mind you I bet there's many who couldn't wait to see the back of their celebs / pros..

i think janette quit because she said they wanted to start a family? I think they’d be great parents and hope it works out for them

He did a day as a mens gymnastics 'coach' for a Commonwealth Games promo.

It looked as if the English team and he had a load of fun making it.

You can tell Aljaz is a properly lovely person. I thought Janette had quit strictly to try for a family too. Aljaz has a niece or nephew and you can tell how much they mean to him, I'm sure he'd love to be a dad.

Aljaz's sister and niece were at the show I went to at Sadler's Wells, as was Sara Davies. It was very sweet.
