The trailer has just been released and I can’t wait!

It’s probably my favourite programme atm so it’s a shame it’s ending but I’d rather that than it getting repetitive and dragged out.

Yes, PR-in-chief Ebba is Matsson's ex who he's sending blood to (if his story is to be believed) and the reason why Karolina wasn't on the kill list is because Matsson is lining her up as the replacement. If I were Karolina I'd have my CV out with every PR firm in New York trying to avoid this. It actually would be worse working for Matsson than Logan, and that's saying something.

slamfightbrightlight · 25/04/2023 12:56

I’ve suddenly started to wonder who in the real world inspired the blood story 😁

I think from the excellent Forbes article that @MayIDestroyYou linked to above, it's $192 per share. God knows what that equates to in actual money? And btw if I were the kids I would be super wary of still holding stock (couldn't understand that, you sell the shares but get shares back in return?? So actually only selling half the shares?) - I wonder if that's how Musk 'bought' Twitter, in which case his antics causing the value of the company to plunge must be causing great dissatisfaction among the shareholders!

I am no expert but i am invlved iwth a company that is currently going through IPO and it has a market capitalisation (which = value, I think) of 7 billion dollars and the share price being floates is aroun $60 so I think $192 per share equates to a shit ton of money :)

it's all paper money with these these people - Musk etc - they obviouly have plent of cash to live on but there actual billionaire status comes from hodling stock, shares, options in companies that are currently worth X per share. all on paper, virtual money. Thats how people like Elizabeth whatsher name can go from billionaire to bankrupt in a couple of months. So selling to Matson is just giving ownership of their shares to him - and getting back shares of a different class?

MayIDestroyYou · 25/04/2023 13:41

They’re talking about the ‘ludicrously capacious bag” on R4 now - with the Chairman of Burberry! He denies it’s done the brand any harm. Grin

(Very brief at 1.38pm.)

JaneFondue · 25/04/2023 13:56

What was the " no sorties for Lukas' thingy? Why were they supposed to feel sorry for him?

JaneFondue · 25/04/2023 13:57

Sorries not sorties.

Blondbombsite · 25/04/2023 13:59

JaneFondue · 25/04/2023 13:57

Sorries not sorties.

Because he’d just told them that he’d found his father’s body after he’d committed suicide (presumably as a child).

Yikes! No wonder he is so screwed up. Don't know how I missed that. Thank you.

WhathaveIdoneagain · 25/04/2023 15:26

Apparently the blood thing is a reference for Alexander Skarsgard's role in True Blood.
Sex with noise cancelling headphones on is a well-publicised rumour about a Hollywood A-lister according to an episode guide.
The "No sorrys for Lukas" was also a reference to a viral tweet.

Thanks both to your contribution to the discussion. It’s added a lot to the enjoyment of the show.

Surely a more Logan-esque response might be warranted? 😉

My response may be characterised as similar to Matsson's on the mountain top (although the effect would be ruined by having to have treatment for frostbite on my arse).

Btw re: Shiv's pregnancy, I forgot again that this is only the day after last week's episode. She's can't possibly have had time for an abortion or miscarriage and then have hopped on the private jet for fun frolics in the Norwegian mountains?

slamfightbrightlight · 25/04/2023 18:07

Yeah I’m not reading much into the fall
from the previous episode other than to perhaps highlight her vulnerability (and weird dependent relationship on Tom)

chimichangaz · 25/04/2023 18:28

I really didn't like this episode when I watched it last night - having loved the others this season. Might have been as I didn't feel well as I've just watched it again and it is genius.

Tom and Greg are so so cringe. It's worse than watching David Brent.

Suddenly realised why Roman went off so quickly at Matsson - obvs he called his dad a prick (twice) but he'd just had the photo sent to him from Connor of his dead dad. Tipped him over the edge.

I did chuckle at the image of Ken and Roman looking so dejected after landing such a big deal - they were well and truly played 🤣

MayIDestroyYou · 25/04/2023 18:58

It’s a very cool dramatic turn - giving rich people more money, when there’s a reason why it’s exactly what they don’t want. They’ve done the same recently, on a considerably smaller scale, in The Archers.

bumpetybumpbump · 25/04/2023 19:21

On the share thing - it would usually work that they'll get paid 50% in cash and then get 50% in shares in the new larger business - so GoJo and Waystar combined..
So if they do the deal and Mattson ranks the company they'd lose a chunk of their paper wealth....

*tanks the company!

MayIDestroyYou · 25/04/2023 21:00

It’s actually less expensive than one might anticipate …

But full up for my preferred dates next year. Sad😅

LadyMargaretDevereux · 26/04/2023 12:04

I always notice that no one really comments on the places they are in much even though this episode's setting couldn't be much more spectacular. I think Roman says it's 'nice' and Kendall just feels his room is too small. Shiv makes some disparaging remarks about it being a wedding venue. It's obviously very gauche to be impressed by anything other than the buffet.
