For me it has to be why Aaron shouldn't have been raised by anyone but Claire?

Apparently Mr Ekko wasn't there because what's his face that played him wanted five times what he was offered to come back!!! walt I think got too mature looking.

What I hate most of all that itwas all about Jack. freaking hated him all the way through!!!

Island was incidental, what a load of cock, should have set it all in a supermarket then

I don't think miles and ana lucia were there because they weren't significant in jacks life? Or because anz lucia had to atone for shooting people?

I thought the island was significant because protecting the light meant people could meet up in purgatory? Am I wrong? It seems it's all just open to however we want to interpret it?!

Has anyone got any links to intrviews with the writers about the end?

Buddleja · 25/05/2010 12:18

Exactly Eleanor - well thank you producers for telling me what series 6 was about but how about the other five please!!!

I have a slight problem to that it ended up being what they told us it wasn't

Well here we are

Sounds to like those who wanted every question answered and expected the writers to wrap up all the little issues didn't like the end. Those of us who understood this would be impossible and just wanted an ending loved it!

I'm getting annoyed with people saying 'oh so they were all dead then I guessed that' because they weren't dead on the island. Well unless they did actually die on the island of course. Also most of the questions from early on like what are the numbers? Have been answered. The islands mysteries will always remain - why is there a light? Why Jacob and the mother etc? It was always that way and will continue for a long time to come. Hence the references to ancient Egypt etc.

My main question was answered on here which was why were specific people in the church and it was because they were important to jack - that makes sense though not sure why penny is in the church
other than she had to be with Desmond. Penny didn't die on a boat she was alive and well and living with Des and Charlie until Widmore kidnapped him to take him back to the island.

Widmore questions were answered, dharma found the island as many groups did over the years and were trying to tap into it's power.

Too much more to cover but too many silly questions that shouldn't overshadow the pure emotion of the finale. IMHO

paisleyleaf · 25/05/2010 12:40

Why was the polar bear there (from Hurley's comic book?) and more about the gateway to Tunisia where the polar bear showed up?

braveandcrazy · 25/05/2010 12:43

Dharma did experiments with polar bears including making them turn the donkey wheel which was why Charlotte onthe archeology trip in Tunisia found a polar bear skeleton.

paisleyleaf · 25/05/2010 12:50

Thankyou, I'd forgotten about Dharma's polar bears.

braveandcrazy · 25/05/2010 12:50

Another couple of answers - Jacob believed in free will the candidates had to choose to leave and come back themselves. Those on the plane carried on with their lives and they left it to our imagination how that went. Claire went back to raise Aaron with kate's help and I'd like to think Kate has a hand in raising Jin and sun's daughter too as she was left parentless. I think sawyer and miles go off and actually become cops (spinoff show no 1) and richard has to figure out how to live in the 21 st century ( spin off idea no 2)

PDog · 25/05/2010 13:06

Totally agree Eleanor. Pretty sure the last 2 seasons were advertised with the strapline 'the answers are coming'. Have also read interviews with the writers/producers were they have said that they always knew the answer to a mystery when they introduced it - if so why couldn't they resolve a few more?

braveandcrazy but they did all end up dead! I get that they didn't all die on the island and it really happened but they still all ended up dead in the end - that is how they have resolved every storyline!

Would have been happier if they hadn't led us to believe that all the mysteries would be resolved.

DuelingFanjo · 25/05/2010 13:21

I want to know what happened to Kate when she got back, was she put in prison. Did Claire get custody of her kid despite her mental health issues. Did Sawyer just become a policeman and get over all the issues he had re the man who killed his family.

I want to know what happened to all of them when they got back. Esp Richard who was well old and presumably would have no idea how to live in the modern world.

Why does it always have to be about Jack? He must have been in purgatory a very long time waiting for them all.

2old4thislark · 25/05/2010 13:46

During the first series I read that they hadn't decided on an outcome. Initially they only filmed 12 episodes and, only when they went down well, did they commission more.

DuelingFanjo · 25/05/2010 14:14

Jack died almost instantly surely. He became the candidate and then died only hours later.

LostGirl · 25/05/2010 14:40

Does anyone else remember it being revealed in an earlier season that Charles Widmore had found the flight oceanic 81whatever and there was that shot of it underwater with all the bodies on it? Was that ever explained? And what the hell did Daniel's mother keep popping up for, was it ever explained how she knew how to get them all back to the island? MAybe we'd be better off listing the things that were explained than the ones that weren't.

braveandcrazy · 25/05/2010 14:59

Widmore planted the plane to stop people searching for the island. He had lots of money to do this. Daniel's mother I think knew both timelines too which is why she asked Desmond if he was taking Daniel with him. She cannot leave yet either she has a lot of making up to do for getting her son killed.

Like the question - why does it always have to be about Jack? Agree with that one! Although I warmed to him at the end.

And Kate didn't love sawyer she just wanted his body like any sane woman. She was in denial about being in love with jack for most of the time.

braveandcrazy · 25/05/2010 15:12

Here's a question foryou- how will kate explain she has been on 2 planes which have mysteriously crashed and disappeared without a trace ?

PDog · 25/05/2010 17:12

I thought that Daniel's mother was in purgatory too and that Daniel wasn't going to the church because he wasn't important to Jack. I assumed they would stay in their purgatory until they were ready to move on. In her purgatory she had a good relationship with him and he knew Widmore was his father BUT could Daniel really exist when she killed him on the island in the 70's???

Think Kate probably got banned from all airlines

candyfluff · 25/05/2010 17:34

this is such a cool explanation of what happened in LOST www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HWECQa23Cs

Baileysandbrie · 25/05/2010 17:46

Never mind unanswered questions - can I have Claire's labour and birth please? All ten minutes of it.....Soon (41+1 today)

samiryn · 25/05/2010 18:19

Loved Lost... until the final!! Kinda guessed a couple of episodes from the end it wasn't going to end with lots of answers. Feels like it was 6 years of trying to unravel mysteries the writers created that were actually nothing to do with anything. Pretty dissapointed!

LOST = Jack opens eyes - 6 years of pointless unrelated twaddle to fill time and make money - Jack dead. THE END!

undercovamutha · 25/05/2010 20:47

Buddleja - love the link. It says it all I think!

Haliborange · 25/05/2010 21:01

Candyfluff- that was very good. I laughed at quite a lot of it.

It seems to me though that the importance of the story was basically in seasons 1 and 6. The stuff in between was padding (so that's quite a lot of time I won't get back).
