For me it has to be why Aaron shouldn't have been raised by anyone but Claire?

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 25/05/2010 08:08

Have been thinking about it overnight and my questions are:

Who the hell were those people in the temple and why bring introduce them in the final series and then kill them all off?

What was the point of Jim Robinson Charles Widmore??? They never really explained why he went to the lengths he did (such as faking an entire airplane crash at the bottom of the ocean ) - what did he want? And then his story just ended by being shot in Ben's secret closet

Why did Jacob allow Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Jack, Sun and Sayid to leave the Island for 3 years and then have to get Ben to kill Locke just to get them all back again.

GabrieleJ · 25/05/2010 08:08

Everything annoys me. They took the lame way out and just said that everyone died or just jack and all the other people were fragment of his imagination???

They haven't answered any questions because they just made it too complicated for themselves, so much crap went on in the last few seasons that i think they got themselves confused...

Really really disappointed, they should have killed the series few years ago while they were still good.

So crap, seriously if Jack would have woken up in the last episode and they would have said it was all a dream would be the same thing.

American shows always do that, if series are very popular and make a lot of money they just go on and on and on and on... until they ruin it completely. If they would have not been so greedy and finished it few years ago it could've been much better....

SO DISAPPOINTED!!!

Jin knew the sex of the baby because she remembered having her in her 'real' life.

As for the amnio I'm not really sure.

PDog · 25/05/2010 09:26

I'm very disappointed and very .

Ceebee74 yes, I wanted to know about Charles Widmore too - how did he come to be there, what was his history with Ben etc?

Dharma Iniatiative - how did they find the island, what were they doing there, why were they spying on the candidates (and how), why did Ben kill them all?

What happened to Ben when Kate took him to Richard, after Sayid shot him as a boy in the past?

What was the point in the temple?

If Ben and Juliet were there at the end but not on 815, where were all the other people they met on the island? Rouseau, Danielle, Widmore, Frank etc

Where were the other people from 815? Walt, Michael, Mr Echo, Anna Lucia, Cindy, Paulo & Nicky, all the people who got blown up by dynamite?

So if they are all dead but the island events did happen and they all died at different times, how come none of them had aged? How come all their purgatories (?) were happening simultaneously? How come Jack was last to get what was going on if he died before a lot of the others?

And the numbers, wtf was that all about?

Yes and Jacob and his twin - what, why?

Hurley said that people couldn't leave the island but they did - Jacob did and Richard did (didn't he visit Locke as a boy)

As you can tell I have more questions than answers. I thought it was a total cop out and the writers have been making it up as they went along. Very that I wasted so many hours watching it. Was right in the end though. I said to DH that everyone would die and that is how it would end because whenever the writers didn't know what they were doing, they would kill the characters off - temple, survivors from the tail section, that woman who Jacob brought to the island etc

Mr Ekko.

Is the biggest WTF imho.

DuelingFanjo · 25/05/2010 09:54

"Jin knew the sex of the baby because she remembered having her in her 'real' life"

yes, but Juliette asked 'do you want to know the sex' so the impression I got was that she would be able to tell her. Also the baby on the scan was bloody huge and well developed despite the fact that Sun's belly was flat as a pancake.

DuelingFanjo · 25/05/2010 09:54

is it sun, jin,? I can't remember what their names are?
Is Jin the bloke and Sun the woman or the other way round?

PDog - everyone didn't die so it wasn't a cop out killing them all off
only Jack, Sun and Jin and I can't remember who else

the rest ofthem died at other times in their lives

DuelingFanjo · 25/05/2010 10:11

Saieed died didn't he?
Lock?

but isn't the point that they all actually died in the plane crash anyway and were in some kind of purgatory which they had to find their way out of? Some did, some didn't?

2old4thislark · 25/05/2010 10:11

I loved Lost all the way until the last episode. Though I honestly didn't expect answers and for it to make sense. Over the years there have been so many different flashforwards, flashbacks and time changes that I gave up all hope of it ever making sense. Or being able to follow it for that matter.

I just went along for the enjoyable ride that it was........and Sawyer

ABatInBunkFive · 25/05/2010 10:21

'but isn't the point that they all actually died in the plane crash anyway and were in some kind of purgatory which they had to find their way out of? Some did, some didn't?'

No what happened on the island happened, it isn't explained about the islands mysteries well, because some things just are mysteries.

Jack died at the end of that episode, Hurley went on to live for a good long time, 'you were a great second' said to Ben.

The flash sideways was the point where they met when they all died eventually. They needed each other to move on as they were so important to each other.

The other people were not there because they were not as important to Jack, this was Jacks story so to speak and really it was all about the people and their relationships, how they became all so important to each other.

The island etc was really pretty incidental in the end.

I loved it!

DuelingFanjo · 25/05/2010 10:27

OK - where were Hurley, Kate, Claire, the guy who never aged, Miles and the pilot between getting on the plane and leaving the island and dying?

DuelingFanjo · 25/05/2010 10:27

sorr - I know where Hurley was. I mean Sawyer.

the ones who got off the island on the plane...

compo · 25/05/2010 10:34

DF - they lived normal lives
but when Jack died all the most important people in his life appeared in his purgatory
so Kate could have lived until she was 80 but he saw her in purgatory ie in the church because he needed to see all the people in the most significant time of his life - the island , so he could go on to the afterlife
Kate , the pilot and Miles got off the island leaving ben and hurley behind, they all lived longer than Jack- we don't know for how long

ABatInBunkFive · 25/05/2010 10:37

what compo said.

That's why Kate said she'd missed him, she was without him longer than he was without her.

DuelingFanjo · 25/05/2010 10:49

so the sideways timeline, that wasn't how they were living their lives. that was what might have happened if they hadn't crashed?

ABatInBunkFive · 25/05/2010 10:55

No the sideways timeline was them in 'purgetory' the place they 'made together' to find each other again before moving on.

DuelingFanjo · 25/05/2010 11:08

So purgatory was only a week or so long?

ABatInBunkFive · 25/05/2010 11:14

No it was timeless so to speak, Jack married Juliet in it and they had a son, it wasn't real so anything goes RE timelines.

When Jack closed his eye at the end on the Island, that's when the flash sideways would have begun, it wasn't happening in line with 'real' time, except for us the viewers.

PuppyMonkey · 25/05/2010 11:22

Maybe Mr Ekko went straight to hell, he was a very naughty boy in his time. Sorry, answering my own question here. or maybe he turned into one of the whiserping voices on the island, like Michael.

Maybe Ben didn't get to go to heaven either. Jury's out on whether he gets in after what happened with Alex etc.

The more I think of it, though I agree that what happend on the island happened, but the island was some sort of "stage" in life's great journey for all these people. With its special "light" thing and Jacob getting a select group of people to crash land there. Some people survived the challenge and went on to leave the island (Sawyer, Kate, Richard, Miles and Chesty the pilot), some people didn't (Jack).

potplant · 25/05/2010 11:38

I think I understand what happened but I might watch it again! I loved all the waking up stuff - Charlie and Claire (yay!), Sawyer and Juliet (double yay!).

For me I would have liked a better explanation of Dharma Initiative, the numbers, where the strange temple people came from, what was so special about Desmond, why didn't Desmond bring Miles and Charlotte and Ana Lucia back?

Oh and why people weren't allowed to leave (although Ben suggested that this was Jacob's way so possibly Hurley changed that?).

Ben didn't go into the church because he can't move on from letting Alex die. Michael wasn't there for similar reason, he shot Libby and Anna Lucia (I think?). Walt wasn't there cos maybe it wasn't the most significant part of his life, he wasn't there long and he left when he was very young (although in RL its because he grew up!)

potplant · 25/05/2010 11:39

Oh yeah and Jacob pick them all to come to the island or was it just random?

DuelingFanjo · 25/05/2010 11:56

wasn't Charlotte there? Is she red headed one?
