Sorry, first post should have started, 'DH just read...'

fartmeistergeneral · 17/05/2010 22:39

octopus, will check on that Over the Rainbow song and get back to you. What's the APR 13 reference?

Clydesdale · 17/05/2010 22:41

octopus is thisthe version?

fartmeistergeneral · 17/05/2010 22:43

Israel Kamakawiwo'ole

fartmeistergeneral · 17/05/2010 22:43

oops, beat me to it!

dulciejones · 17/05/2010 22:48

Alex asked for an APR 13 form and Gene told her it didn't exist. Or something like that!

HinnyPet · 17/05/2010 22:56

Marking place. Love the idea of a wizard
of oz theme, wonder if it means Gene will be floating away over Fenchurch East on a big sparkly gold half moon.

lottiejenkins · 18/05/2010 08:22

fartmeistergeneral · 18/05/2010 09:14

To add to the biblical/Keats references, after the whole 'centre cannot hold' stuff- the figure on the weathervane is putting me in mund of a strange beast slouching towards Bethlehem, or whatever the phrase is...

NoseyNooNoo · 18/05/2010 11:04

That is a lovely version.

Clydesdale · 18/05/2010 13:08

Re the Daily Mail - [ shock] [faints away in a victorian heroine style swoon emoticon]

ElizabethWakefield · 18/05/2010 13:15

I can't find the Daily Mail thing, is it a new one today, different from yesterday's article?

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 18/05/2010 13:17

ooooohhhhh god, someone stop me from looking!

jenduff · 18/05/2010 13:36

I peeked I couldn't help it - it wasn't a spoiler at all

Oblomov · 18/05/2010 13:52

I am expecting to be none-the-wiser at the end. I agree with KayH, I don't think they even want to answer all our questions.
We will be left puzzling.

Ffrecklefface · 18/05/2010 14:08

I looked too. I couldn't find it either, had to search 'Ashes to Ashes' to find it. (So can't really claim to have stumbled upon it accidentally.) And it isn't reeeeeally a spoiler - more something that HAD to happen.

Am beyond excited now!

lottiejenkins · 18/05/2010 14:44

Sorry,,,,,,, thought that would have counted as a spoiler!!

NoseyNooNoo · 18/05/2010 18:10

'And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born? '

from W.B. Yeats' (shame it's not Keats) 'The Second Coming'.

Pixel · 18/05/2010 18:48

look what I found

Fayrazzled · 18/05/2010 18:56

Marking my place too.

BexJ78 · 18/05/2010 19:03

Every time I see the trailer, I am just beside myself with excitement. Just so very excited for friday!!!

Honneybunny · 18/05/2010 19:42

dh thinks I have officially gone insane.

another WoO reference I just noticed:
Mackintosh's report on Gene says the following about Gene:

To be blunt, DCI Hunt can be a cheeky bastard with a defiant stare that I once noticed in a Labrador of my wife's. Said Labrador (Suki) was eventually destroyed when she bit me on the hand.

Gene might therefore be Toto :
Dorothy runs away with Toto to protect him and prevent him from being euthanized by Miss Almire Gluch (according to Wiki; I have never seen WoO myself).

There was also scene in the last episode where (I think) Ray and Chris are discussing Gene being a labrador behvaing like a rottweiler, or something like this.

So looking forward to Friday.

bellissima · 18/05/2010 19:50

Just ordered the 'hoops' T (ahem, and hoops is what DH and I will be having if i don't return to the kitchen).

Thanks Pixel!
