Oops, didn't mean I hope you're not settling in VJay .

pixierara · 17/05/2010 14:10

absolutely Dorothy red shoes I have never noticed the red shoes thing until now...has she always worn them then??

I haven't seen Wicked at the theatre but understand it is all about life pre Dorothy, is there any link between that and LOM/ATA?????

jenduff · 17/05/2010 14:12

Hopping onto new thread - thanks Kay

VJay · 17/05/2010 14:14

bettyturnip

jeanjeannie · 17/05/2010 14:15

Sounds almost plausible there Bettyturnip!

Could they all have been working with Gene back in 1953...Shaz did mention that year ...and it looks about the right time for the old pic. CHris keeps hearing that old police whistle too. They might all hang onto Alex as she clicks her ruby heels and they wake up back in 1953/72/83/now (delete as appropriate)! Question is....who is Toto?

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 17/05/2010 14:36

oh christ, i hope not!

just watched 2 episodes and watching last weeks tomorrow, prepping for friday. i FINALLY heard the "soul" bit.

bellissima · 17/05/2010 14:37

Oh no please not a Wizard of Oz ending - with Graham Norton coming in over the credits to remind us to watch Over the Rainbow the following night...no, please - would almost rather have them on a space ship...

NoseyNooNoo · 17/05/2010 15:02

Hee, hee, I'm sure that it's not the Wizard of Oz, just a bit of cross-referencing for the writers amusement.

I'm sure that this will be studied by film/media studies students for many years to come.

fartmeistergeneral · 17/05/2010 15:12

They DID play a lovely version of Over the Rainbow in LoM last episode - so lovely that we downloaded it!

The pulling of the curtain. The Wizard. Yes!

Or all a big laugh at our expense!

KayHarker · 17/05/2010 16:03

Squeeing about that Galex spoiler. But my lips are sealed, naturally.

I'm liking the wizard of oz theories. Reminds me of LoM Gene "It's cos of the wonderful things he does'

I am a bit scared of Papier Mache Gene

KayHarker · 17/05/2010 16:40

it's a knockout Gene is imposing. Another biblical reference there too - 'The truth will set you free'.

Go away Molly!

LadyPeterWimsey · 17/05/2010 17:05

I'm about 4 episodes behind - and can't get the tv to myself for a couple of days. Aargh!

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 17/05/2010 17:13

quick question, who is supposed to have written that note on the back of the photo? coz keats took the film to develop!

ElizabethWakefield · 17/05/2010 17:55

I think Keats wrote the note before giving the photos to Alex.

Honneybunny · 17/05/2010 18:07

read somewhere that the writers/makers have left loads of red herrings in A2A.
might be a couple of red shoes, lamps etc?
i did notice however, that alex has only been wearing the red shoes in series 3.

re biblical references, also heard gene say something like: it is the final chapter, bolly, we are fighting for our lives. this made me think of the apocolypse, when 4 riders on horses (cars???) are announcign the end of the world. one's on a red horse, one on a black, one on a white and one on a pale.
coincidence?

but surely then the picture could (as far as keats/alex knows) be just a pic of a house!

JackieNo · 17/05/2010 19:08

Marking my place too. Very bittersweet - I want to know what it's all about, but I don't want the series to end .

KayHarker · 17/05/2010 19:30

Here's what I think - in a series as complex and multi-layered as A2A/LoM, they are never going to be able to tie up every loose end. They didn't with the end of LoM, and I doubt they will for A2A.

Fans have acres of brainspace to concoct elaborate finely detailed theories which are elegant and satisfying. And almost certainly completely wrong.

IMVHO, the real theorizing comes about when it's all finished and we have the complete work to theorise from. It's all too easy to plump for a really good theory and then be terribly disappointed with the actual resolution.

All I'm hoping for is something as gloriously uplifting as Sam's suicide and enough ambiguity to keep fan specualtion alive for the next few years. That's what retcon is for

Hear, hear Kay

Though it's been fun speculating, non?

I have already told DP there is to be radio silence on Friday from 9 - 10pm.

And then again from 10.05pm (allowing me 5 mins breather to process and have a cig) until 11.05pm so I can watch it again

dulciejones · 17/05/2010 22:23

Just read somewhere that APR 13 1953 was when the US government launched its programme of mind control experiments.

Valpollicella · 17/05/2010 22:26

Ooh Dulcie

dulciejones · 17/05/2010 22:34

Don't get too excited though! He's on the Bluemoon website (Man City fanzine thingy)
He's just said they are talking about the body maybe being Gene's dead brother who had been mentioned before (I don't remember that) Lots of suggestions that he was responsible for his brother's death.

Lots of WoO suggestions too apparently. Also talk of shoes and changed accents whatever they mean.
