I thought it would be high time to get the TARDIS party going, now we're on a countdown. Has anyone else seen the clip from the first episode yet? Looking like good fun. I might even be persuaded to squee.

I thought it was a bit shit at first, especially the whole hammy throwing himself about and wtf was the spitting of the food? I found that so cringy I almost turned over.

But then it settled down and he stopped trying so hard and by the end I thought it might actually turn out, in another couple of episodes, when he's settled into it, to be quite good.

I actually liked the bit with the food. The kids loved it and laughed about it for ages.

Sooo appealing to the kids - Fishfingers in Custard - and why not....(it is really for them anyway)

Ice cream man = Spaz as in The Young Ones Grange Hill send up. "you get mucka, tucka and ducka and I'll get Spaz". Spaz replies "but I am Spaz",

I already liked Matt Smith from Party Animals but he was far better than I thought it would be

I always liked the Stephen Moffat episodes in the old series and this was another cracker

Fanboy DH liked it so much he's making me watch it again already! He's given it the thumbs up.

Luckily enough I am also keen.

Neither of us were impressed by the new theme music though.

re: the music , it might take a while to get on with it but I like how some of the theme melody is just singing. LOvE the vortex! And the new logo!

So what was all the 'The Silence is coming' stuff about? We've had 'The darkness is coming', now it's the silence. And there wa ssomething else the monster said, but I didn't hear it properly.

We liked it. Get over the naval gazing angst and get on with the good old fashioned adventures. Thought MS did better than I feared and absolutely LOVED Amy Pond!! Had thought here we go again with the Scot with the non-scottish accent, but they sorted that....did anyone else know that young Amelia is the cousin in real life of Karen Gillan?

Ah JackieNo I suppose you're right, just getting to be grumpy old prude, I certainly remember Leela but not in the same way as DP, who was a young teenager at the time

i think new doctor will be good when he finds his feet. a bit to DT still for my liking - (there can be only one! i love DT. lots.)
so he needs to be a bit more different but im sure he'll find his feet soon enough. liked the new writing, much better.

Isn't he a bit DT because he still is a bit DT? Bet he'll drop some of the mannerisms when he stops fizzing and twitching.

I thought he was very good. DD1 a bit indignant about the music, DD2 will need a new screwdriver.
