I thought it would be high time to get the TARDIS party going, now we're on a countdown. Has anyone else seen the clip from the first episode yet? Looking like good fun. I might even be persuaded to squee.

If you have BBC HD it's on at 11.20 tomorrow night.

It's on iplayer too, of course.

notimetotidy · 20/06/2010 20:27

Thanks Rusty - we do have HD so will get it set up to record now. Off to tell an unhappy 10 year old that he hasn't missed it after all!

mummyofexcitedprincesses · 20/06/2010 20:42

Persephonesnape, he looks very cool. Do we have a future Timelord in the making?

persephonesnape · 20/06/2010 20:56

well there are times i feel as if i am 907 years old, so he certainly has the genes for it!

Ripeberry · 20/06/2010 23:40

Wow! That was good, even had zombied Cybermen! Poor Amy! Wonder if they will get out of this and they will keep us waiting until next Easter?

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 20/06/2010 23:41

DS actually asked for, got and ate fish fingers and custard at MIL's tonight [vomit emoticon].

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 20/06/2010 23:42

Do you think if I ask SM nicely he'd have the Doctor eat a tomato in the next series?

ThatVikRinA22 · 20/06/2010 23:43

i am loving loving loving this series. does it really finish next week? i will sulk...

RustyBear · 20/06/2010 23:46

Over 900 posts-is this thread going to last the week?

Pixel · 20/06/2010 23:56

I enjoyed this but think I'll have to watch it again as dd was jabbering on in my ear.

But how bad is it that I cheered when Amy got shot? I am a terrible person.

Ripeberry · 21/06/2010 00:04

Don't worry she'll be back

Pixel · 21/06/2010 00:17

Ha ha, that's what worries me!

ruthosaurus · 21/06/2010 00:22

Only just found this thread, so sorry if I'm barging in somewhat, but wanted to share my encounter with two brilliant 5 year old boys this morning (before I had seen episode). I was at the playground with 18mo DS, who was trying to get onto the climbing frame.

Boy 1: Look out, Doctor, there's a Dalek tryng to get into the TARDIS!

Boy 2: It's okay, Amy, it's only a small one.

Boy 1: Where's Rory?

Boy 2: His mum made him go to the shops with her.

Davros · 21/06/2010 08:17

If you have cable its on Catch Up.
WHY were there Judoon there? They are not enemies of the Doctor afaik, they are the Space Police are they not?
I don't like Amy but I'm willing to give her a chance "Doctoooooor", how hard can it be to learn her lines? AND, if she had dressed for Rio in that previous episode, why was she wearing a t-shirt, jumper, leather jacket and tights? Just an excuse for short shorts which she doesn't need the rest of the time.

nymphadora · 21/06/2010 09:11

Judoon could have been convinced by the others that the Dr was going to destroy the universe so was better off without him. They are pretty black & white.

Did everyone notice the Weevils?

Pixel- I cheered too. dd2 was disgusted with me 'But Daddy & dh like her....'

RustyBear · 21/06/2010 10:01

I think the Judoon may be mercenaries, working for anyone who will hire them. (Though I think I got this idea from one of the novels; presumably as they are BBC-produced they can be regarded as 'canon')

singsinthebath · 21/06/2010 13:10

So is that it for Amy?

I cheered but DH and DS looked rather sad.

UnquietDad · 21/06/2010 14:54

I'd love to know how the talks for the Alien Coalition went. "By Sontar! Are you suggesting we should give up our commitment to Rutan war in return for your paltry time-travel technology? You insult my gene-tank, pepperpot!"

Bomper · 21/06/2010 15:08

Unfortunately, that's not it for Amy. I heard she was signed up for the next series!!

UnquietDad · 21/06/2010 15:38

What the hell have so many people got against Amy?!

nymphadora · 21/06/2010 16:14

Bimbo. That's my thoughts on her.Would rather have Rory.

Maybe the coalition talks could be an extra on the DVD.

singsinthebath · 21/06/2010 16:26

Dad totty whose acting is limited to widening her extremely large eyes to convey most emotions.

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 21/06/2010 16:43

You see, I like her acting. I thought in "Victory of the Daleks" she conveyed the excitement of being back in time meeting actual historical figures much better than Martha did in "The Shakespeare Code". I just think of Amy as a character who does pout and widen her eyes a lot. I know real people like that.

UnquietDad · 21/06/2010 16:47

Doctor Who has always had dad-totty and Amy is better than most!

nymphadora · 21/06/2010 16:58

Didn't like Martha either she was too Daphne. Better once she had been round the world & got over the Dr obsession.

Donna was the best & Rose was good. Loved Mickey too
