I thought it would be high time to get the TARDIS party going, now we're on a countdown. Has anyone else seen the clip from the first episode yet? Looking like good fun. I might even be persuaded to squee.

Aww I love my Pond, much prefer her to Donna! And even to Rose! My favourites are Martha and Amy.

Kaloki · 07/06/2010 15:04

my Pond? I obviously meant Amy

AmyPond · 07/06/2010 17:56

ooh! i have a new nn. do my legs look all long and gazelle-like in it?

greenfly · 07/06/2010 18:00

Ha! Go and get some trews on ye wee flibbertigibbert.
Now then Kaloki you are just being silly to say you prefer Martha and Amy aren't you. Aren't you? I mean, DONNA - even blokes who fancy Amy will admit that she was the perfect sidekick - funny, fiesty, completely believable.

AmyPond · 07/06/2010 18:00

'Doctor?!' (scared)
'Doctor!' (impatient)
'DocTOR!' (chiding)
'DOCTOR!!!' (discovery)
'ooh! Doctor!' (lustful)

'Rory Who?'

yep, that's my fully fleshed out dialogue for the next three weeks.

Katisha · 07/06/2010 19:09

Amy now that you have forgotten about Rory will you be trying to ahem interest the Doctor in you again?

Pixel · 07/06/2010 19:55

I'd love to have been in that church the next morning when the vicar (or whatever equivalent) came in and walked slap bang into a dead giant invisible turkey that had been left lying around...

Arcadie · 07/06/2010 20:14

Pixel a lot!

RustyBear · 07/06/2010 20:17

I'm really having trouble making my mind up about this series.

SaintIncognita · 07/06/2010 20:48

I'm in two minds. I love MS, I find Amy a wee bit irritating, but I'm just not sure the whole package is gelling together.

AmyPond · 07/06/2010 22:00

pouts

Rory who? well, you know, I'm a long-legged titian minx, he's 907 years old - and has been around a bit. it's been a LONG time... That TARDIS is a little cramped, given that it's SO much bigger on the inside...

Kaloki · 08/06/2010 02:39

greenfly I really hope you are joking! Donna made me want to throw the TV out of the window!! Repeatedly!

greenfly · 08/06/2010 10:42

kaloki Eh? eh?? The great Donna, out the window - but why oh why? I loved her and I think the writers did as well. The fact that they could bypass all that lovey-dovey conflicted bilge and concentrate on the stories made for a great little era. I liked Martha as well to be fair but there was still that same old frisson stuff going on and too many wide-eyed-with-wonder close-ups.

JackieNo · 08/06/2010 10:59

Torchwood's coming back - hurray [grin. Not sure about the 'international flavour' .

nymphadora · 08/06/2010 12:01

Donna was brilliant. I loved Rose too.

Martha and Amy are both a bit too 'Daphne' and stereotypical Dr Who assistants

nymphadora · 08/06/2010 12:03

Torchwoods probably gone international because the US are bigger fans than here are are offering the financial backing. Is RTD based there now? I know some of the others from his team are

JackieNo · 08/06/2010 12:14

nymphadora - yes, I believe RTD is in the US now - that would make sense.

Davros · 08/06/2010 13:53

OK, just joined this. Can we go back to Page 28 where bedkitty raises my BIG question and problem with the angels? Why aren't they sending people back in time but just killing them? Completely ruined them for me.
Many of you will not know me, I joined MN 7 years ago and mostly visit the SN section. BUT I want you all to be impressed that I have been Davros on here for 7 years, before the new series was started or Amy Pond was out of nappies!
I am a BIG DW fan, as is the rest of the family, but I think Matt Potato Head Smith is just about tolerable, Amy is a bit annoying and the flagrant ignoring of some "rules" is spoiling it.
I LOVE DT so I am biased.

Ripeberry · 08/06/2010 18:46

What are the Torchwood fans going to do? I used to love seing them wandering around Cardiff Bay in their 'Torchwood fan club' black T-shirts
If it's international, it will cost them a fortune to visit the filming sites.

LutyensCBA · 08/06/2010 19:17

greenfly, Donna is my favourite assistant too. It was so refreshing to not have any sexual tension in the Tardis. I mean, come on, does the Doctor pick girls who have crushes on him or is he just so bloody irresistible?

MS is all right, he isn't fabulous but he isn't bad either. Amy on the other hand...I root for a monster to kill her every week. I wish she'd put some clothes on (never seen a girl so much in love with her own legs) and I wish she'd stop bloody pouting. She even pouted as the Silurians pulled her into the earth!

Something is definitely missing this time. An earlier poster put it perfectly when she said it feels exactly like a children's show now. Not one episode has made me go "Wow, that was something!" And I have no hopes for the next three episodes. Especially since James Corden makes my teeth itch

nymphadora · 08/06/2010 19:45

James Corden is supposed to be not like James Corden at all in the episode according to Dr Who magazine.

LutyensCBA · 08/06/2010 20:20

The only way James Corden could not be James Corden is if he was, in fact, played by George Clooney

Maybe it will be an Amy-lite episode. That would make up for James Corden being in it

JackieNo · 09/06/2010 15:56

Has anyone tried the Doctor Who Game? We've tried downloading it on a couple of computers (desktop, laptop, netbook), but it's not working brilliantly on any of them - I suspect they're just too old. DH is using it as an excuse to say we need to buy a new computer . DS and DD did manage to play it for a while yesterday, though it was a bit slow. They seemed to enjoy it.

Idontknowhowtohelpher · 09/06/2010 20:28

dd2 tried out the game tonight. She didn't get very far but was enjoying the novelty. I liked it - I managed to get Amy killed by the daleks three times!

JackieNo · 09/06/2010 22:20

lol.
