I thought it would be high time to get the TARDIS party going, now we're on a countdown. Has anyone else seen the clip from the first episode yet? Looking like good fun. I might even be persuaded to squee.

Rewatched ep2 and it was slightly better. Still only on a par with Gridlock though

mankyscotslass · 17/04/2010 09:17

Just seen a clip on News 24......all the new Daleks are different!!! (not the ones in camoflage!)

So excited!!!!!

Eldest Manky is beside himself, first going to the derby match, then Daleks on DR Who!

JackieNo · 17/04/2010 17:18

Mm - bit of a clip here - they're all different colours - blue daleks - whatever next ?

RustyBear · 17/04/2010 17:26

There have been coloured daleks before

confuddledDOTcom · 17/04/2010 18:37

Evening all!

Why doesn't she remember?

Nymphadora · 17/04/2010 18:55

crack in time?

Anyone else find the daleks scarier when they were offering tea?

mumatron · 17/04/2010 19:09

dd didnt like the coloured daleks.

ds wants one of each colour for christmas.

confuddledDOTcom · 17/04/2010 19:12

What's this a recap?

Nymphadora · 17/04/2010 19:12

I loved it.Daleks are cool and there was another crack.

Next two look scary!!!

DaisymooSteiner · 17/04/2010 19:23

I thought this episode was shit. Really stupid, cheesy, hole-filled storyline and Matt Smith seemed like a poor imitation of DT, which I didn't think at all in the previous two episodes. Very disappointed, hope next week's is an improvement.

Katisha · 17/04/2010 19:25

There's even an Easyjet one!

Really not sure about the rainbow line-up...

Goingspare · 17/04/2010 19:25

!

ShadeofViolet · 17/04/2010 19:34

I too was really disappointed, it just seemed like an intro episode to explain something else thats going to happen later. The new daleks are just so that the BBC can get money from merchandising!

Also, why did no-one mention Amy's clothes? She would have looked so out of place in the 1940's.

PortBlacksandDweller · 17/04/2010 19:34

He dod not eat a Jammy Dodger - it was a Crawfords Jam Cream.

Our is also not a JD - it is a CJC...

Hmmmm - i think SM has been on Mumsnet?

PortBlacksandDweller · 17/04/2010 19:35

Also, i thought the lass who lost her BF in the blitz was going to be featured more. I think we will see more of Scottish / Dalek chap...

ShadeofViolet · 17/04/2010 19:36

RustyBear - the Dr Who movie were not official though IIRC.

confuddledDOTcom · 17/04/2010 19:36

Violet, the companions nearly always look out of place! Sometimes he provides clothes but often doesn't.

I think you're right, it's setting up the thing about the memory.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/04/2010 19:37

dd said the cloured daleks were too 'babyish'.
winston churchill was rubbish.

I did like the idea of daleks pretending to be helpful though.

But the BBC used several of the movie dalek props from the in the series. Of course, those stories were in b&w so we don't know what colour they actually were, but some of the daleks in The Chase definitely look a different shade.

RustyBear · 17/04/2010 20:53

Didn't anyone think of taking the bulbs out?

Nymphadora · 17/04/2010 21:15

I have started lalalalalalalalalaing when someone says the daleks are totally distroyed. That means that when they return it doesn't spoil the story.

ChickensHaveSinisterMotives · 17/04/2010 21:22

I thought they resembled Teletubbies. Nothing terrifying about primary coloured, pimped up Daleks. Even the Doctor didn't seem that arsed at his greatest nemesis rocking up. Very disappointed.

KayHarker · 17/04/2010 21:50

I really hate to say it, because it was a Mark Gatiss episode, but I thought it was really, really poor. The Daleks have been getting steadily less menacing over time, and the rainbow at the end was about as camp and bland as can be.

Nice idea, and the Gatiss skill with period pieces was nicely set up, but I wasn't convinced by Matt Smith this time. And yet again Amy saves the day. Meh. I wanted to love it.

Rainbow Daleks. Can't discriminate them now . "Would you care for a cup of tea?"
Classic!
