OP posts:
champagnesocialistsupernova · 03/05/2010 14:39

Loving it.
Have found a few refs on Google to it being cancelled but don't want to search too far in case of spoilers.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/05/2010 16:06

i know,i dont like to google incase i find stuff lot

OP posts:
caffeineaddict · 03/05/2010 20:34

I am still completely hooked by this. But nobody I know seems to watch it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/05/2010 20:41

what is the horse thing about?

OP posts:
caffeineaddict · 03/05/2010 20:58

No idea at all. Isn't it something a symbol of purity, to do with Patty's lost innocence - her conscience? In either episode 1 or 2 she told Ellen that all she ever wanted when she was little was a horse. I fully accept that this interpretation may be barking (neighing?) mad.

I love Carol Tobin - she's the character I most relate to! And I love Lenny.

Itsjustafleshwound · 04/05/2010 18:15

champagne - I think the production costs and dip in the US viewership has put the skids on a Series 4...

Somehow, although better than Series 2, I don't think this series has reached the heights and twists of Series 1

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2010 14:35

good twisting but shame we know he is dead - kinda ruined it for me tbh

OP posts:
kittya · 13/05/2010 09:47

1 and 3 are the best by far. Why is it on so flipping late? thats why nobody seems to know what Im on about when I ask if they watch it!

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/05/2010 16:59

I didn't expect that to happen

Least she gave the info first

2 more episodes to go

OP posts:
anonacfr · 14/05/2010 17:16

So Marylin Tobin got her granddaughter killed? Ouch.
Talk about cold.

I thought the scene of her telling Joe the truth seemed too important to be left off screen. But I didn't expect that! I did think for a minute that Joe knew and he'd arranged for Tessa to die anyway (after all he was quite happy to let her mother die) but Marylin lying to him was more brutal.

Are there only 2 eps left???? How is it going to be resolved???? Surely Lenny will tell Joe the truth at some point- maybe Joe will be so upset that he'll betray his mother to Patty.

But what is the point of the whole Frobisher thing? And what's going to happen with the psycho mother of Michael's baby? And Tom and Ellen having a 'relationship'? And the thrown away bag? And the hole in the wall????

Interesting to see how in the space of a few weeks Joe Tobin went from being a decent guy who wanted to help to a cold-blooded bastard with blood on his hands.
The power of money indeed....

And kudos to Ted Danson for being an awesome actor. He can make Frobisher likeable and skin-crawling repulsive in one episode.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/05/2010 19:18

obv money is more important then her grand daughter - esp as was by default (affair)

OP posts:
CalmCalmCalm · 16/05/2010 23:05

anonacfr Isn't Tom and Ellen's "relationship" that they were starting a law firm together?

I don't know how Frobisher ties in to the Tobins, but I do think Frobisher is being set up by the actor guy.

And why is Michael's girlfriend psycho? Did I miss that bit?

Also, is Ellen's replacement (the English one) working with Lenny? DH said she was, but I really don't remember that bit either.

Bit of a stupid thing to do, on Lenny's part - entrust the wronged wife to tell her son that Tessa was the result of his, rather that her husband's affair. I don't know that (if I was a conniving billionaire's wife) it would be high on my list of priorities.

anonacfr · 17/05/2010 07:55

I think Lenny has a bit of a crush on Marilyn.

Re the girlfriend. Patty did some research and found out that she has 2 children from a previous relationship (which her son knows about) but also that the father has full custody and that for some undisclosed reason she had been judged an 'unfit mother'.
Son obviously doesn't know about that because when Patty threatened to tell him whilst bribing GF, she looked quite scared.
She then had a conversation with Michael asking him he was sure about her and the baby etc and he said yes.
Nothing since.

Ellen's replacement is not working with Lenny. He uses a private detective who looks a bit like her, maybe that's who your DH was thinking of?

I agree the 'relationship' is the law firm (doh) but how is it going to happen so quickly if there are only 2 eps left?

Agree on Frobisher being set up, but quite frankly I'm not that interested in him when there are so many loose ties in the original storyline!

And also what is the point of the whole adoption/sister's a cow/dad's a bully thing?
Is it to show that Ellen's slowly seeing Patty as a mother figure to substitute her shitty family and that she is going to flip now that Patty's disowned her?

I like the little conversation she had with Dead David. They had a really cute relationship in the first season.

CalmCalmCalm · 17/05/2010 12:35

So glad you said that about Ellen's replacement. I thought I was starting to lose my marbles.

I'd forgotten about the 2 children. There's def something odd about that - perhaps they're setting that one up for subsequent series (if they get them).

I don't know what the Ellen's family business is either. Perhaps it's to set up Ellen becoming more like Patty as her family are not worthy of the consideration she has given them in the past? I think I like your theory better!

I don't know about the whole Frobisher thing. I wonder if it was just to keep Ted Danson in the show. But knowing the writers they'll be a nice twist in the end (or I'll be a bit disappointed).

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/05/2010 18:03

better wrap it up - blondes cant wait for season 4!!

patty wants ellen back and is playing games with her replacement - makes you wonder why patty likes/respects ellen so much

guess tom will die tomorrow or next week

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2010 00:48

So Michels girlfriend basically lied to patty and is now spending her money

did the tramp kill tom then?

And omg at the lawyer or lack of

roll on tomorrows episode

OP posts:
mumdebump · 26/05/2010 20:18

Ooh, its tonight. Can't wait....

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/05/2010 01:31

Well well well

what an ending!!!

Most loose ends were tied up (I think) tho the horse/baby thing still slightly puzzles me so did she delibratley tried to lose her baby as she ignored her doctors advice and went riding so that she could start her career

so was it guilt bringing the horse dreams?

Was omg the way things were shown with who killed tom and who was driving the car that hit patty

I did think that frobisher seemed a bit too neat ending

so will there be a series 4 .......
