Bit of a tv evening for me tonight! Anyone else watching?

I have watched about 45 seconds and I can't bare another minute.

I used to live in Beckanham when I was a nanny, many years ago.

MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:04

'If you're scruffy it looks like you haven't got money'. Not sure I see the connection and not sure I like this wealthy family compared to last week's.

Why can't the parents have the futon?

Just turned on

nancy75 · 06/08/2009 21:10

where do the 2 families live? missed the start.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 06/08/2009 21:11

to the scruffy comment which I look like all the time

MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:17

Poor family in Brighton, wealthy family in Kent - Beckenham according to Fab.

Call me a snob but who writes a letter on school paper?

OP posts:
mummytopebs · 06/08/2009 21:18

but wait a minute they get £413 a week that is over £1600 a month, that is the same as we get and we pay a mortgage and wouldnt class myself to be in poverty

MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:20

I am a snob. How lovely is [boy who sleeps on sofa]?

OP posts:
nancy75 · 06/08/2009 21:21

think the rich family live round the corner, recognise the houses!
tbh agree abit with mummytopebs, £1600 a month is not really poverty, isnt council rent alot lower than private rent?

MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:21

I missed that. £1600 is a pretty reasonable income I'd have thought.

Nancy66 · 06/08/2009 21:21

Hmmm - thought the first episode was excellent. This one seems decidedly dodgy.

The 'wealthy' family don't looke to me as though they actually are. Beckenham is a shit hole - if you had money you'd get the hell out of there.

As for the 'poor' family - why is it such a hardship for two boys to share a bedroom? And, hate to say it, but the parents seemed to have the money for fags but not for the kid's shoes...

nancy75 · 06/08/2009 21:22

ok, got computer before coats for kids? i wouldnt give her anymore money.

diedandgonetodevon · 06/08/2009 21:22

OK, they've just lost my interest.
A PC instead of school clothes??
And a webcab FFS

Beauregard · 06/08/2009 21:23

I cant understand this .
£413 per week take home
We must be well in poverty then and we pay a mortgage.

MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:23

Maybe Michaela is the reason they are apparently living in poverty. I wouldn't have thought lap top computer complete with webcam was an 'essential' above clothes and wardrobes.

AitchTwoOh · 06/08/2009 21:23

skin creams? who'd buy a skin cream from zelda from terrahawks?

mummytopebs · 06/08/2009 21:24

Why doesnt she work me and dh both work and we only come out with that. It is annoying me now, i have noticed they both have smokers coughs and she is spending all the money on herself - Wish someone would give me £2000 especially seem as student loan company has just sent me a letter saying i owe them £1200 for a grant they have decided i shouldnt get - arrrrghhhhh rant over

AitchTwoOh · 06/08/2009 21:24

aaaah. now they're hitting them up for more. nice.

MarshaBrady · 06/08/2009 21:24

It's all a bit grim isn't it. Not as good as the first one.

MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:24

Don't think Brandon isn't interested in the computer. Appalling that they didn't buy school uniform.

OP posts:
TheCrackFox · 06/08/2009 21:25

Is the £413 after or before they have paid rent?

diedandgonetodevon · 06/08/2009 21:26

If I'd given them that money, I would be seriously disappointed in how they have wasted spent the money.
