Bit of a tv evening for me tonight! Anyone else watching?

I'd like to adopt Brandon.

Great minds and all that Nancy!

i do quite like the dad, he seems really decent.

diedandgonetodevon · 06/08/2009 21:37

He does seem like a lovely chap. I really hope he gets some benefit out of it.

TheCrackFox · 06/08/2009 21:37

Actually made me tear up a bit that they have got a freebie to Spain (not for the parents but the DCs).

diedandgonetodevon · 06/08/2009 21:37

x-post with Aitch
Was refering to the boy although compared to the mother the father seems quite sensible

AitchTwoOh · 06/08/2009 21:38

aw, the wee lad has a bed.

MarshaBrady · 06/08/2009 21:38

Children are sweet, but the 'poor' seem to be manipulating the other family.

Can't say I like them as much as the lovely family last week.

MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:38

I can't help wondering if there is more to this story. This programme is done through Save the Children and it isn't currently very good publicity for them.

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 06/08/2009 21:39

I don't like this one, it looks like they are out for all they can get. The family last week looked so genuine, the mum's first purchase was a bed for her children and school uniform. This one makes me feel really uneasy.

diedandgonetodevon · 06/08/2009 21:40

Last week made me want to get involved in something like this but this week I just want to take the woman in hand and give her a good shake.

CloudDragon · 06/08/2009 21:40

never watched before but it is making me sick.

My DS would have my bedroom and I would sleep on the sofa ffs.

It's a bit of a weird premise for a programme. Secret millionare I get, as they give money generally to people that are doing good or are in such a shit situation they can't get themselves out of it.

TheCrackFox · 06/08/2009 21:40

Really don't like "poor" mum.

AitchTwoOh · 06/08/2009 21:40

all the purchases bar the computer were fair enough, imo. and the dad was very up front about his problem with it.

MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:41

Last week's programme made me dip into my pocket probably through guilt. This one won't. I guess it just shows that some children are in poverty through the selfish actions of their parents.

OP posts:
littleboyblue · 06/08/2009 21:42

cloud That's what I thought......me and dp would sleep in the living room and let ds have bedroom. Wouldn't even need to think about it.
I don't like the 'poor' mum, the rest seem nice enough though.

TheCrackFox · 06/08/2009 21:42

Brandon is lovely - he can come and live with us.

MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:43

Same here CloudDragon. I would always go without for the benefit of ds and I can't imagine it any other way.

OP posts:
MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:44

Poor Brandon probably wants to stay as he has his own bed there.

OP posts:
TheCrackFox · 06/08/2009 21:45

I know people living in one bedroom flats with DCs. The parents sleep on sofa beds and the DCs sleep in the bedroom.

hatesponge · 06/08/2009 21:46

Last week I was thinking what a great idea for a programme.

This week i'm a bit about it all. I don't like the 'poor' parents one bit.

AitchTwoOh · 06/08/2009 21:46

is it a one-bedroom? so the wee boy is sleeping in his parents' bedroom?

littleboyblue · 06/08/2009 21:47

It's 2 bed but the boys are both light sleepers so can no longer share.......

AitchTwoOh · 06/08/2009 21:47

och, i think she just went a bit mad. so she's a bit selfish... so am i. poverty does not equal sanctity.
