Bit of a tv evening for me tonight! Anyone else watching?

hippo same here re salary and payouts. We manage just fine.
My boys share a room. Tbh, the disturbance would have to be extreme for me to remove one of them from the room, but if it came to that, then one of them would have our room, simple as.

MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:56

Must be a reason why she doesn't work even part time to fit around nursery.

According to the given figures - the poor family are on about £25k a year.

TheCrackFox · 06/08/2009 21:57

Bloody hell! Another holiday!

Can they sponsor me.?

Wow and a bedroom?

AitchTwoOh · 06/08/2009 21:57

aw, i do like brandon...

diedandgonetodevon · 06/08/2009 21:57

CloudDragon, I thought that too.

expatinscotland · 06/08/2009 21:57

'Made in Scotland' makes for much better viewing!

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 06/08/2009 21:57

They didn't seem happy with the partition.

MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:58

OMG a trust fund! That really sums up what the wealthy family think of the others - ie can't be trusted to spend the donated money wisely.

OP posts:
CloudDragon · 06/08/2009 21:58

trust fund...obviously don't trust the parents!

diedandgonetodevon · 06/08/2009 21:58

The trust funds are a very clever idea though! That should keep the mother's hands off the childrens money. I just hope they chose the trustees carefully.

KatyH · 06/08/2009 21:58

They have over 1600 a month yet they have very little cutlery...what? You can get 24 piece cutlery sets from ikea for less than a tenner!

Sorry, have been trying not to be judgemental, but that tipped me over the edge

MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:59

Can't believe that they have received £5,000 and still not bought school uniform.

that mechanised loom is wicked! and he's got this awesome application for the Mac for designing tartans.

AitchTwoOh · 06/08/2009 21:59

all the kids are sweet, eh?

TheCrackFox · 06/08/2009 22:00

Trust fund is a great idea.

I thought it was a bit weird they didn't have cutlery. You can pick it up in Argos for £5.

thegrammerpolice · 06/08/2009 22:01

Wow I have a lump in my throat from this. Ah bless at him seeing his own bedroom.

CloudDragon · 06/08/2009 22:01

you're right aitch they are lovely,

but what a comment.. without disturbing my mum, surely it should be the other way round.

poshtottie · 06/08/2009 22:01

Maybe the mother has mental health problems and can't work but didn't want it shown on the programme.

AitchTwoOh · 06/08/2009 22:01

presumably they have enough for them, just not for guests.

fanjolina · 06/08/2009 22:01

ooh - no wonder that family are loaded. His dad started Pimlico Plumbers.

hatesponge · 06/08/2009 22:01

I bought a set of cutlery the other week from asda for £3

she would still have had £4997 left......

trust fund idea was genius. hope it ensures the boys get the things they deserve. not sure the mum was impressed though, she was probably expecting them to fund her skincream business

MollieO · 06/08/2009 22:03

Very pleased that Brandon now has his own bedroom and somewhere to do his homework. Clearly a bright lad.

Have worn my judgey pants throughout this episode and I'm very disappointed that there is no real happy ending. No mention of mum's skincare business at all other than the justification to buy the computer in the first place. No voiceover at the end stating future plans.

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 06/08/2009 22:03

I wonder if they'll ever feature a family who is working poor? Probably not.

AitchTwoOh · 06/08/2009 22:04

at skincare business. she was hardly a good advert.
