plus you can get a laptop for £299...

didn't they say that the bus driver guy makes £280 per week? i thouhgt i heard that.

Beauregard · 06/08/2009 21:26

Feeling quite watching this now.
Last week seemed very genuine and heartwarming.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 06/08/2009 21:27

And that would be where my money to them ended unless I took them out and paid for the clothes myself.

MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:27

Interesting dynamics. Last week's family worthy but on benefits (some odd comments on MN about that). This week's family not on benefits but pretty selfish imo.

I agree I don't understand why Michaela can't work. I have a 5 yr old, work full time and am a single parent (£50 monthly contribution to ds from exp).

Mollie - have just made a similar comment to myself! i'm not surprised they cant manage on £400 a week as they seem to have no idea of priorities & budgets

I'm also not sure I would class an income of that level as being in poverty - some years ago as a single parent my net income was £1100 per month from which I paid my mortgage, and childcare, and certainly didnt class myself as being poor. Having said that I didnt consider a computer was more of a priority than clothing & shoes though.......

mummytopebs · 06/08/2009 21:28

That is after they have paid there rent, said they get some help towards it. They should try coming home with 1600 month and paying 550 month mortgage!

MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:28

I assume the difference between bus driver's salary and £413 figure is tax credits/CB?

AitchTwoOh · 06/08/2009 21:29

odd that they thought storage would cost £200. you can get a decent second-hand wardrobe for forty round here, or there's freecycle.

and why isn't zelda working?

diedandgonetodevon · 06/08/2009 21:30

It does seem as if they would have enough money to survive on if they were more sensible with their budget. They may not be able to afford luxuries but I would have thought they could cover their bills.

TheCrackFox · 06/08/2009 21:31

He either has a chronic cold or he smokes 100 a day.

nancy75 · 06/08/2009 21:31

cant believe they sent them more!

MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:32

I can't imagine ever in my life putting myself before the needs of my dcs.

Beauregard · 06/08/2009 21:32

Maybe she will use the other 2 grand to pay for a chemical peel.

AitchTwoOh · 06/08/2009 21:32

i'm reluctant just to trash her because it's all too daily mailishly easy but her clothes look modern enough to me.

MollieO · 06/08/2009 21:33

Just hope that the boys get new school uniform.

OP posts:
mummytopebs · 06/08/2009 21:33

No idea how to budget went to marks and sparks for the kids clothes!!!! What about George and Tesco much cheaper

Nancy66 · 06/08/2009 21:33

they're both massive faggers n boozers - written all over their faces....quite literally.

TheCrackFox · 06/08/2009 21:34

All the children seem really nice.

diedandgonetodevon · 06/08/2009 21:34

Do you think his parents put him up to mentioning their lack of holidays?
All very contrived.

Last week was so good but this is just...painfully awful.

AitchTwoOh · 06/08/2009 21:34

was she in marks?!

nancy75 · 06/08/2009 21:35

i am very cynical, but the boys letters sound like the parents have said, say you havent had a holiday for years, see if they will get us a holiday next.

AitchTwoOh · 06/08/2009 21:35

yes, the letters seem to be designed to hit them up for more.

Beauregard · 06/08/2009 21:35

I thought the same DAGTD.

hatesponge · 06/08/2009 21:35

I didnt see her buy any school uniform.

or shoes.

poor children.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 06/08/2009 21:35

This is hideous and turning off now.
