OMG OMG OMG! I can't believe what I am watching! This mum spends 4 - 12 hours on the internet chatting to her friends, she says her small baby has 'chosen junk food over health'

OMG!

no she hasn't, YOU have chosen it for her. This is going to make me judge until I can judge no more!

OP posts:

4-10hrs a day

Thats neglect to her dd in itself.

Dirty bitch.

Claire2009 · 21/06/2009 22:20

Her dh admits to being a pushover, but he doesn't see his dd is being neglected?

Disgusting

Claire2009 · 21/06/2009 22:28

"I look after the baby all day"

eh, on the computer, feeding your dd junk, ignoring her.

Is NOT looking after.

kylesmybaby · 21/06/2009 22:39

makes your wonder just how many more mumsnetters are in the same situation!!

PussinJimmyChoos · 21/06/2009 22:40

Have posted on the other thread but have contacted C4 about this to see if they have contacted the appropriate agencies to ensure the 'mother' gets some support so that the little one and the one on the way are not neglected

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 21/06/2009 22:43

well done, Puss. Am going to do the same myself. I reckon they will be inundated with many emails and phonecalls along similar lines.

ilovemydogandmrobama · 21/06/2009 22:43

Ah, Pussin, I take it you haven't volunteered to go around?

PaulaYatesMum · 21/06/2009 22:47

none of you lot MUMSNET in the day

nancy75 · 21/06/2009 22:49

i mumsnet in the day, but my dd is at pre school and my house does not took like a hovel. my child does not have to eat shit that she has found on the floor from the night before and my house doesnt smell of cat shit.

PussinJimmyChoos · 21/06/2009 22:49

LMD - I spent the entire prog sobbing at thought of how someone could do that to their little one and the anger I felt...I would have been quite capable of twatting her if saw her in the street...not that she would feel anything due to excessive flab....

I do however go to Playspace quite frequently...would love to bump into her there I tell you!

Claire2009 · 21/06/2009 22:50

I do, occassionally. For no more than an hour, and when the kids are either at Playschool or asleep.

4-10hrs a day when the woman has her dd with her, that IS neglect.

Claire2009 · 21/06/2009 22:51

Oh, & my kids are fed proper meals, and my house is clean, not dirty fucking knickers under the bed & a 17mo that lives in babygrows or one outfit.

The Mother is fat/lazy and needs help. I feel very sorry for her dd. Her dh is just stupid.

Claire2009 · 21/06/2009 22:51

She's on Facebook, Bristol network.

PaulaYatesMum · 21/06/2009 22:56

oh dear claire ....

PARP

Claire2009 · 21/06/2009 22:57
Hmm
Quattrocento · 21/06/2009 23:00

You lot are being just plain horrible.

Dunno what PARP means but if it means what I think it means then PARP.

Schoolgirl · 21/06/2009 23:02

O.M.F.G.

So now you lot are going to stalk her on facebook as well as at the local playgym??

You lot seem as unhinged as she seemed tbh

PussinJimmyChoos · 21/06/2009 23:06

Where did I say I was going to stalk her?? Come on! I just said I would love to bump into her in Playspace that's all

Twinklemegan · 21/06/2009 23:06

FWIW, here's my theory. No family would expose themselves to ridicule unless there was money involved. So I think they're paid a fair amount of money to take part, and then have to fit in with the "storyline". I don't think they write their own manuals either - why the overt references to "lazy people" in the hairdresser's manual? Who would write that really? There's always one really slovenly family on Wife Swap - IMO these are vulnerable people with money problems prostituting themselves on TV.

Quattrocento · 21/06/2009 23:10

I do actually know

Twinklemegan · 21/06/2009 23:23

Really?! What kind of person would allow themselves to be portrayed in that way? My God.

I worked out tonight that they're only there for a week. There were a few things that made it really clear there were only a couple of days of each set of rules.

saggyhairyarse · 21/06/2009 23:25

Do you know what, to me it reeked of a young girl who has had a baby and kind of carried on her life as before having a child because she doesn't know what to do.

Now she has had some instructions she is doing that but has not deviated from the instruction she was given. She takes her to Playspace 1/2 times per week. Why not the park? Swimming? Etc? Because she does not know any better.

She needs help imho. I would hate for her to come on here and think she can't go to Playspace because she is going to get twatted/or a mouthful, that is the one good thing she is doing with her child!!!!!

People like Kelly need access to a good Childrens Centre, Parentline Plus support (though the Bristol office has closed down) and a good Health Visitor who actually says it how it is and offers support and advice.

Quattrocento · 21/06/2009 23:27

Ah well, IME only seriously nutty people. I wonder if part of the motivation is that they will get discovered through the reality TV series and become stars of stage and screen.

Reading this thread, someone mentioned that there was some Karaoke - maybe whoever was singing thought Simon Cowell would be watching?

Summerfruit · 21/06/2009 23:29

I was also in tears with what I have seen, cant understand why a mum will be like this with her baby..staying in bed late, no interaction with the baby..I'm pissed off with the fat bitch and also pissed off with channel 4 for showing this...I mean poor little girl...and the worst is, I bet it's going to take a week or two before she is in Closer magazine or other trash magazine...It's makes me so sad

spookycharlotte121 · 22/06/2009 00:00

I dont know what to say..... watching wife swap has made me so upset for so many reasons. I have sat sobbing.

That poor little girl deserves better.... that said I think the girl from Bristol must have some sort of depression. Her behaviour is not normal but it really wouldn't take a huge amount to change it.
Hopefully she can get the support she needs and help with getting into some sort of routine.
Whoever found her on facebook should consider sending her a link to homestart. Perhaps she might be able to do something more constructive with her life.
