I thought this started on 20th Sept. DH reckons he's seen a trailer saying it is tomorrow!

Does anyone know anything about this????

OP posts:
pleasechange · 06/10/2008 13:28

Was I the only one who thought that Erin didn't dance particularly well in the jive? Although Austin was great

I think Brian is the best dancer (has now overtaken Brendan in my estimations). He looked v fanciable in the group dance, although I wish he'd drop the silly moustache

Sooo glad Gary left. Agree with those who think Mark is boring - although Hayley's tango was nice. I think the best tango was Lilia & Don (although I love Lilia so I'm biased!)

RamblingRosa · 06/10/2008 14:12

Euwghh! Brian fanciable? Am I thinking of the right person? The American? He's horrible! Don't find any of the male dancers fanciable actually. The swimmer is gorgeous but seems a bit too shy for me. I haven't seen much of Hayley but there's something about her I don't like. Maybe she's a bit up herself?

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 06/10/2008 14:15

I'm beginning to feel sorry for Jodie. I always thought models would be coltish and graceful but she is more of a lumbering carthorse.

Rose100 · 06/10/2008 14:25

I think Lilia's in a class of her own. She's just fab, and her and Darren are a perfect match.

Loved Camilla's jive this week as well. Great music.

Still wondering if Lilia and Ola are preggers...

noddyholder · 06/10/2008 14:31

I quite fancy austin which is to say the least I was quite impressed with his flexing biseps which is not me usually

fartmeistergeneral · 06/10/2008 15:46

Who was the really horrible dancer from last year (year before??) - all arrogant. I thought it was Brendan but he's there and it wasn't him - did the guy have curly hair??

I'm not an enormous fan. Just dabble.

Tigerschick · 06/10/2008 17:03

Here is the Wiki page on all of the series.
In series 1-4 all the competitors did both a latin and a ballroom in the first 2 weeks. Then it went a bit awry. They haven't got the lists for last year but I don't remember thinking that it was odd, like this year.

Fartmeistergeneral - do you mean James Jordan? He's here this year, dancing with Cherie Lunghi, but he's had his hair cut... if you can bear it, watch the beginning of ITT from Friday night on the iplayer.

Rose100 - Unless he's had training since he wrote his autobiography, or didn't include that info in there, then Austin hasn't had dance training before. I can't for one second think he has; he had a really tough childhood. (I'll check with DH but I'm fairly sure he spent some time in a YOI.) Also, I'm sure it would have come out before now if he had; the rugby fraternity aren't ones to let soemthing like that go without a degree of ribbing

luvaduck · 06/10/2008 19:17

whats a YOI???

Clayhead · 06/10/2008 19:29

Young Offenders Institution?

billysitch · 06/10/2008 19:29

Young Offenders Institue, I am guessing?

Clayhead · 06/10/2008 19:30

spooky

Fimbo · 06/10/2008 19:32

Who watched ITT tonight?

Gary in Dubai?? Yeah right. I don't think him and Karen are talking at all.

billysitch · 06/10/2008 19:33

GOD came by this thread by accident, brilliant I am an addict of SCD!

Rose 100 - right back atya with the Karen
comments, cant be doing with her to be honest.

My fav so far has to be Austin, grrrrr! Tom is kinda cheesy but great jive with Camilla, the music was great 'black and gold' bit funky!

Gary tho', oh dear think hes found his vocation and it is definitely NOT on the dancefloor, but A for effort!

Don, lovely, smooth, darstardly look on the tango! Bravo

Of the girls I am not sure why but Lisa Snowdon has a face I want to slap.

oh and before I shuffle off, I will miss Anton

Tigerschick · 06/10/2008 20:12

Sorry - YOI is Young Offenders Institute, we live not a million miles from one so it becomes part of our vocab.

Also - he wasn't in one, he nearly got sent to prison for assault. I've decided to read his autobiography for myself so, when I get to that bit, I'll let you know

So, Gary suddenly had a pressing engagement in Dubai did he? Can't wait to watch it tomorrow.

Rose100 · 06/10/2008 20:39

I'm going to buy my brother Austin's book for Christmas so I can read it first. There is something really sexy and intriguing about him.

Do you think Gary escaped to Dubai to get away from Karen?

tandsmummy · 06/10/2008 21:20

not posted on this thread before but did anyone see ITT tonight?

At the end of the phone conversation, Gary mentioned how much he'd love to do a ballroom dance and would be coming to knock on Karen's door! Did I hear right that she said 'I'll lock it'!! No love lost there!!

Marina · 06/10/2008 21:27

I feel terribly sorry for Jodie too Lady Glencora. She is like a dancing telegtraph pole the poor love. And someone mean in wardrobe is contriving to give her dresses that make her look wide as well...
Maybe Gary was given 48 hours to leave the country? For crimes against dance?

I must confess to having a weird crush on Flavia too I loved her Rumba with Vincent - Endless Love, so sad I heard she & Matt were finished, but it must be back on if Matt was in the audience. I read Vincent has a new girlfriend but I reckon he still has feelings for Flavia, going by the way he was looking at her.

How weird it must be dancing soooo closely with your ex - doing your best to avoid eye contact, but then having to wrap your legs over his head

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 07/10/2008 00:20

Do you think Karen doesn't much like Gary? I don't know why, I just get the feeling.....no, surely I must be imagining it.

tribpot · 07/10/2008 07:50

LOL at crimes against dance. Wonder if we can prove he was actually sulking at home. In fairness to him, Karen said she was training him as she would a high performance pupil (hence giving him loads of stick) but that was hardly fair given he was significantly less talented than Bill Turnbull. Probably fed up of being given a lemon two years in a row.

Tigerschick · 07/10/2008 08:05

Just watched ITT on the iplayer (can't believe it's there already, last week it took until the evening for it to be put on) I roffled at Karen's 'lock the door' comment And Claud saying 'she's joking' ... many a true word spoken in jest and all that

Interesting comments from Len and Craig about Tom and Austin ... thing is that, for me, Austin seems to have so much more presence on the dancefloor.

RamblingRosa · 07/10/2008 08:35

Isn't it funny how lots of us MNers thing Flavia is absolutely stunning and gorgeous but men don't seem to get it and always go for Ola (understandably, she's gorgeous too but in a different way)? I love Flavia's tangos (I think she and Vincent are world tango champions or something) and I think she's got an amazing Sophia Loren face with a dancer's bod . DP just reckons she's got big teeth and no tits !

cyteen · 07/10/2008 09:27

I actually think Flavia is almost too much woman for most men Her looks are incredibly rich, if you get my meaning - such a tiny package with a lot of power, those huge eyes, the sculpted face, the amazing body, the strong colouring. Ola, while also a stunner, is blonde and smiley and uncomplicated - Flavia's looks take a while to digest.

Marina · 07/10/2008 09:35

Dh rates Flavia. He had a huge crush on Sophia Loren when he was four though
