I love it.

I am not ashamed to say that i will get totally involved- even though i am too old.

Lets count how many times Louis Walsh says 'westloife'
Watch Simon Cowell look bored rigid.
They will put through a 70 year- just for fun
They will tell a 14 year old she is the next Mariah Carey- and then not put her in the finals- FOR BEING TOO YOUNG!
Everyone one will 'own the song, and make it their own'
or- 'that was a really poor song choice- i blame Louis'
A group WILL NOT WIN.
Marvel at the really poor sob stories!
About half a dozen audtionees will sing 'Valerie/you're beautiful'
Watch Cheryl Cole waste away before our very eyes (how skinny is she????)

I need to get out more

Roll on Saturday!!!

i do think that Simon went into bootcamp having already decided on his final 24.I'm quite sure he always does. And Dh and i both wondered how the figures stacked up- when they pulled the same stunt with Liam that they did with Ray a couple of years back, they amended the number in each category that time(no doubt that was a set up too, though).

When the family group went into melt down, you could see Simon's mind ticking over- they let them through based on their previous performance- not the bootcamp one, which wasn't how it was meant to be.

Tis a fix, but i can't help watching...

tortoiseshell - dh is reading at the mo and was lay in bed last night quoting bits to me!

wannaBe · 29/09/2008 11:58

this

makes for interesting reading.

Now imo the older contestants must have an inkling that xfactor isn't the glamerous prog it is portrayed to be. But some of these contestants are only 14. They are still children, and they still naively believe that the programme can change their life. In fact it always makes me a bit when people come on and say this is their only chance to build a better future for them/their children/their parents/whoever. And in reality is isn't about finding stars, it is about making money, money for the producers and for simco or whatever the name of SC's production company is. And these young kids are being exploited for it.

Raahh · 03/10/2008 16:33

so who is your tip for the final 12?

i am loving Saturdays- Merlin/Strictly /x-factor...

Tis takeaway and wine night, chez Raahh!!

I love Rachael, she reminded me a bit of Nina Simmone when she was singing the snow patrol song.

kid · 04/10/2008 17:32

kid · 04/10/2008 17:45

god, sinitta looks like the keeper of the crypt...and that too tight necktie- is she into autoerotic asphyxiation?

cornsilk · 04/10/2008 20:18

what is that boy supposed to have done? Just saw the bit where he was talking to Simon Cowell saying something wasn't true.

Did they not say what he'd done then?

differentWitch · 04/10/2008 20:20

he claimed he was brought up in foster care. His father says he was brought up by his grandparents.

he claimed to have been in foster care from age 4, but after the audition in the papers it said he had been bought up by his gran, and saw his dad regularly or something.

I just dislike Rachel sooooooooooooooooo much.

BroccoliSpears · 04/10/2008 21:21

Having read Chart Throb the whole show seems a spoof of itself.

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/10/2008 21:37

I think that the girls are really strong, and Cheryl has a hard job cutting 3 of them.

Can't understand how the 48 yr old woman made it this far - haven't heard her sing anything well yet.

Looking forward to shouting at the TV watching tomorrow.

HeinzSight · 04/10/2008 21:38

Can't wait for tomorrow night, agree Cheryl has a tough job, am sure the winner is in her group.

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/10/2008 21:42

I think that Hannah will definitely be through for Cheryl, but am not prepared to commit on any of the others! She has a great voice, but is very odd looking!

I do think that druggie jailbird has most fantastic voice, but if she forgets the words one more time I will want to kick her!

Piffle · 04/10/2008 21:44

I was cooking and had it on in background
A chick did Janis Joplin well
Only one that turned my ear
Oh and 4 girls were ok well one of them was good anyway the wonderwall One was it?
I don't watch normally oh the rachel girl
Pull herself together might be alright if she is versatile
