I love it.

I am not ashamed to say that i will get totally involved- even though i am too old.

Lets count how many times Louis Walsh says 'westloife'
Watch Simon Cowell look bored rigid.
They will put through a 70 year- just for fun
They will tell a 14 year old she is the next Mariah Carey- and then not put her in the finals- FOR BEING TOO YOUNG!
Everyone one will 'own the song, and make it their own'
or- 'that was a really poor song choice- i blame Louis'
A group WILL NOT WIN.
Marvel at the really poor sob stories!
About half a dozen audtionees will sing 'Valerie/you're beautiful'
Watch Cheryl Cole waste away before our very eyes (how skinny is she????)

I need to get out more

Roll on Saturday!!!

I don't remember what happened to her- but then even if she did get through, by the time i watched it, i was so tipsy it took me ages to realise that the fact loads of them sang the same song was not just some massive coincidence!

i am having trouble remembering people this year- but i loved the young Irish lad (Eoghan?) Ithink he sang Chasing Cars which i love, so for those two reasons, i would like him to do well.

I didn't like rachel, she was a bit full of herself, esp telling the pianist to slow down. What was the name of the dark haired one who was a bit Amy Winehouse? I liked her, too.

The bloke whose wife died got through, but i really didn't think he was great- bit pub singerish, i felt.

Ooh, and someone was told 'you made that song your own!"- love it!!

What happened with the bloke from Barnsley who lied about being in care?

He seems to be on it now, did they just not mind he'd lied?

AmIWhatAndWhy · 28/09/2008 19:36

Oh wow the girl on now, Dana? is stunningly good. But probably won't get through as she's 'different'

Raahh · 28/09/2008 19:40

some fan i am- didn't even know this was on again today!! D'oh!!!

Oh wow the Spanish girl is lovely....

Why does this programme have me in tears every single time?

Raahh · 28/09/2008 20:02

Ha! Ha! Once again, Louis's lot get to go to ....Ireland!! (Which is a place i love, but the others always go to more exotic places).

Is he banned from other countries??

Mind you, it's not so far to go home when you are booted off. imaging flying back from Oz, knowing you aren't in, as Danniis did last year.

MiaWallace · 28/09/2008 20:04

Looks like the Barnsley boy gets questioned about it next week.

maidamess · 28/09/2008 20:04

Oblomov, I know of whom you speak...she got kicked off tonight. But I thought she had a great voice, better than the 'sob story' ones anyway...

smartiejakethepeg · 28/09/2008 20:08

I think that the one who lied about his sob story is found out next week if the trailers are anything to go by.

Is it me or are the groups TOTALLY dire this year. I can't think of a single one who is even half decent.

Raahh · 28/09/2008 20:22

i don't think this format works for groups. I think the public warm to individuals better. If they want a group, they need to go back to the popstars format, which created ~Girls Aloud and Hear'say. Get to know them all on their own, them make a group.

I'd like to see a proper band- instruments etc, on one of these shows, some thing like McFly would do well.

smartiejake · 28/09/2008 20:26

I totally agree raahh.

I'd love to see a competition with real musicians who play instruments. [snob emoticon]

Just think all the "singers" on these competitions are beginning to sound the same.

Raahh · 28/09/2008 20:30

they are- i don't want another Mariah alike, or Michael Buble wannabe!

OP posts:
furrycat · 28/09/2008 20:58

And another "what happened to" - a girl from Bridge End (I think - the place where so many teenagers committed suicide). She got through and was in the papers saying she hadn't want to talk about that but they'd made her. I was looking out for her at Boot Camp as she had a fab voice but didn't spot her.

Oh and Rachel is v. annoying. Which means she;ll go far

JoolsToo · 28/09/2008 20:59

how come they highlighted all the ones that got through before they got through

tortoiseshell · 28/09/2008 21:02

JoolsToo - you need to read Ben Elton's book Chart Throb.

tortoiseshell · 28/09/2008 21:03

What bugs me is the way Louis sagely nods through any 'emotional' song. He knows as much about music as I do about cricket - ie not a lot!.

lottiejenkins · 28/09/2008 21:05

Danni wasnt in Oz last year she was in Ibiza i think....... in a house which they said was hers but wasnt!!

Raahh · 28/09/2008 21:16

was she- oops, sorry.!!

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 28/09/2008 21:21

Oh I didn't know that one had lied about being in care - do I not read enough trashy mags/papers?!

There was a competition where they got to play instruments and show overall talent and not just singing - it was Fame Academy, but everyone from that seems to disappear into obscurity, except poss Lemar.

I was surprised that the family group who totally fell apart got through. They were wholly unimpressive.

Raahh · 28/09/2008 21:21

I loved the kooky blonde who sang Hallelujah, but wish they hadn't done the' don't put him through, o.k put him through' thing-AGAIN!

OP posts:
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 28/09/2008 21:23

Did anyone else notice Simons monumental slip up?

Essentially . you are through to the final 12 oops I mean boot camp round 3.

It's all producer led, sad for the raw talent who have no story.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 28/09/2008 21:24

Hallelujah always makes me weep, but no on does it better than

Raahh · 28/09/2008 21:25

Jeff? Leonard?

OP posts:
wannaBe · 28/09/2008 22:15

total fix.

So the judges decide that Liam (14 yo) shouldn't be booted out after all so off they hurry to catch him before he leaves so as to break the news that they've changed their minds.

And still there are only 6 boys.

presumably if they were going to change their minds and boot someone out instead of liam they would have shown that too. which can only mean it's all a fix.

lottiejenkins · 29/09/2008 07:42

Have just thought of two who we didnt see at bootcamp that they made a hoo haa about at auditions... Dorothy the "gangbang" lady and the guy who came in singing "im going to be a superstar" i thought he would have done better.............
