I managed to close off the last thread without realising and couldn’t see a new one, so here you go!

The Russian besties match is also very good. It's annoying that they're on at the same time.

I was at the Laver Cup all weekend and, trust me, there were lots of ticket holders who had no idea what was going on, or who the players were. I sat next to a woman on Sunday (who told me she was born in 1965, so not a kid), and I had to explain to her why it's called Laver Cup and who Rod Laver is!
But it was a fantastic weekend - we true tennis fans loved it. Europe felt like a proper team - of course Carlitos was the star, Sascha gritted his way through, Casper very solid but the real revelation was Rafael Jodar.... he was amazing.

I smuggled in sandwiches in my coat pocket 🤣
Sections of the crowd were vile to Sascha on Sunday, just because they wanted to see Carlos - so unsporting.

Yes, Jodar has been a real break out star this year, and seems to be fairly comfortable on all surfaces, so a big threat. He also seems really lovely with it.

It does baffle me that people who don't know much /who they are watching will spend so much on tickets for these things- but maybe they just like the atmosphere

I didn’t realise there was a tennis final going on! I could have watched it as well
I wish that tournaments still started on a Monday and finished on a Sunday and not a random Tuesday!
