It's turning into a lucrative earner.

Jane aww- poor dog. Grin

I shouted at my dog to stop digging the rug, and he just ignored me (as usual).

Raahh · 14/06/2026 16:04

ooh- well done Kamil!

Raahh · 14/06/2026 16:05

Just in time, by the look of things-that cloud looks ominous.

JaneJeffer · 14/06/2026 16:06

Well done Kamil. Shame to end on a double fault.

I’ve been watching Queens (well, half watching with a migraine Angry). It’s a shame Emma couldn’t take it to a third set - she was 5-3 up at one point. She then managed to pull it back from Donna having championship point to take it to the tie break.

It’s great that she’s managed a decent run at a tournament - just got to hope she can keep this up without getting injured (or sacking the one coach that seems to do her good!)

Fizzywinegum · 14/06/2026 16:39

Yes hopefully Emma will stick with this coach (not quite sure why she got rid of him in the first place!) She does seem a bit happier on court

I always wonder why she got rid of him- I think it was she wanted someone she felt was more 'experienced' . He didn't want ot leave - though it was reported that he did.
Backfired on her a bit, really. Going back to basics, and maybe a bit less pressure? seems to be doing her good.

Raahh · 14/06/2026 17:12

(There's always 'pressure' though, being a Brit at this time of year- it will ease off once the media forget tennis exists againGrin).

Raahh · 14/06/2026 19:58

I'm watching 'Dirty Dancing'

All week, I've had 'De Todo Un Poco' stuck in my head- (it's the tune Baby and Johnny dance to at the Sheldrake), because it's what I think of whenever I see the name Victoria Mboko.

So it's really funny that this is on now.

And the tune will be stuck in my head even longer.

IceandIndigo · 14/06/2026 20:00

I had to be social today so missed all the tennis. It's a shame Emma couldn't win Queens but it's still been a good week for her. I'm going on Thursday so hopefully get to see some good matches. Forecast looks dry thankfully!

JaneJeffer · 14/06/2026 20:01

I’ve got volumes 1&2 of the DD soundtrack on cassette in the loft Grin

I have a great story about volume 2 of the sound track.

I won a competition on Radio 1 in 1988, Mark Goodier's late show- it was a question where the answer involved something to do with Buggle and Video Killed the Radio star (can't remember the question).
Anyway- I entered, and I won. I missed the follwing week, so never got my moment of glory, hearing my name on the radio. Won a £5 voucher- spent it on my sister's birthday present- volume 2 of the DD sountrack .

Tl:dr- I was a sad , lonely teenager , who had no social life at the weekends. Grin

Have a great time- the weather does look better next week than the past one!

I know- I was gutted - can't even remember why I missed it, but I know it was not important at the timeGrin

Grin Well done to them .

I don't think football is coming home, so darts will do . Not that I'm fussed about football.

Thanks Raahh. Now that’s all I’ll think about whenever I see her.

Not that I have a problem with remembering Dirty Dancing - it’s one of my favourite films! One of my bucket list things is going to stay at the hotel they filmed at.

it would be amazing wouldn't it??

Sorry about the ear worm- I've had it ALL BLOODYWEEK

ChessieFL · 14/06/2026 20:46

It would be amazing. I’ve seen photos and it still looks very similar to when they filmed there (except that the lake has disappeared, oddly).
