Definitely need someone to be able to step up at Wimbledon- I would like to say, maybe Sascha will find confidence from winning RG- but his record at Wimbledon is not the greatest. He didn't do badly in the run up last year. IS he skipping Stuttgart this year?

The only player other than Jannik, Carlos or Djok with any real recent form on grass is Taylor Fritz, who had a great run up to the tournament winning Stuttgart and Eastbourne last year, and then made the Semis at Wimbledon . Bublik obviously did well last year too.

The younger players are a bit untested on grass- and it is such a short season that experience counts for everything (which is why Djok can turn up having not stepped foot on a grass court since last year, and still do ok).

It also has to be a player with the stamina to play 5 set matches.

So, we need Jannik to be ok- or Matteo B to play the tournament of his career and win. I like this plan.

Or- wild idea, Casper decides he loves grass, and he can win it. .

Is Lore fit for Wimbledon or is he definitely out?

I've not heard much about him , to be honest . He is still listed (as far as I can tell) for Queen's and Wimbledon.

Dan was the top seed in qualifying at Ilkley today. He lost in 3 sets to Charles Broom, having squandered 3 match points in the 2nd set tiebreak. It's getting embarrassing now! He really should stop! I can't believe he's holding out for a Wimbledon wildcard?!

I’m hoping that Lore will be fit for Wimbledon (and playing on no 1 court on the first Wednesday!) I’ve got a bad feeling that I’m going to end up seeing you know who but he might still expect to be on centre court?

Hopefully I’ll get to see some tennis on the telly today (weather permitting)

It's so disappointing to have so many players struggling with injury. I hope at least some of the players who skipped RG will be fit for Wimbledon.

There is no way NK deserves a wildcard. Yes he got to the final once but that’s all. He hasn’t won Wimbledon, or otherwise have had a notable tennis career. And he’s not retiring (unfortunately). Neither Stan nor Gael has won either, but they have both had distinguished careers and have announced their retirements so wildcards for them would be nice (not sure they would both get one though).
