Apologies if there is another thread on this. Couldn't see one.

Thoughts?

Wow! That's her!

How did you find her?

It's definitely her

Just how has this been allowed to slip by . Why hasn't Megs death been looked in to ? Why hasn't this awful woman been investigated. It's quite unbelievable isn't it

I watched it yesterday and thought the same thing too. Can’t be enough evidence I suppose and charity money is raised by gifts and donations , so maybe that’s a grey area too ? They can’t prosecute her as she did spend some on charity causes. The medication she sourced was horrendous though, but maybe again it’s lack of any evidence she actually had that amount ?
Shes obviously got away with it.

TheChirpyMintShark · 08/06/2026 16:00

Not medically trained but this is from the Brain Tumor Charity

"A shunt is not very visible from outside of the body, so other people will not know it is there unless you tell them. The shunt will normally run from behind your ear, or the top of your head at the front, to your abdomen or chest under the skin. There may be a lump behind your ear (where the valve is) and you can sometimes feel the shunt tubing beneath the skin on your neck, chest and abdomen"

But there were still hundreds of thousands unaccounted for!

I just don't get what that weird contraption was. I have never seen anything like it.

My cousin has had multiple ops for a (benign) brain issue and had a big patch shaved each time.

the80sweregreat · 08/06/2026 16:19

Yes, I guess that staying in Florida for months on end took a huge chunk of money , but maybe she managed to massage the books a lot and make it look like her own money. They didn’t have much accountability it seems , the charity commission seemed useless and nobody liked to ask too many questions. The celebs paid privately for things too.
I agree that how she did it and not being in prison now is astonishing, but there must be a reason she was able to pull the wool for so long. Just that people trusted them both. People that con and lie are very good at it.

KateBushAgain · 08/06/2026 17:44

The mum probably realised how risky that transatlantic flight was and decided not to go with them .
If that plane crashed she’d find a way to monetise that too no doubt.
That pilot though , what the hell was he thinking ?
I don’t know anything about private planes but would he not see passports or ID of some kind ?

I have added the pic of Jean as she is now. It wasnt thr one linked uo thread but I couldn't delete

agree the woman on instagram is NOT Jean.

Uricon2 · 08/06/2026 18:36

I went in assuming one thing and after watching the whole thing thought quite another. The financial scam was the least of it. Poor, poor Meg.

If the world has got a bit hotter for Jean, that at least is something.

ETA I also have no idea what the pilots involved in this were thinking, at all. Madness.

SecretSquirrelSect · 08/06/2026 10:59

I keep thinking back to the pics of her in hospital with a weird thing stuck to her head.

In many years of exposure to hospitals, Healthcare etc I have never seen anything like it and it wasn't where a shunt would be located.

Anyone trained able to offer an opinion?

Inserting a shunt

A shunt may be inserted into your skull to help drain excess fluid away which may help to improve brain tumour symptoms such as headaches.

I binged the podcast today, it did fill in some gaps - the half sister talking about her medical experience was very interesting.

I do believe Meg was very in to it all with the One Direction stuff, but I suspect towards the end was so dependent on Jean and the morphine it was all driven by Jean and her need for attention. So bloody sad.

The pilot said he'd seen her passport and it showed her to be age 12. He said he was surprised as she looked 10. He was even more surprised when he was told she was actually 20! So she must have had a fake passport, which raises even more questions.

The podcast was very good wasn’t it? Agree that it filled in lots of holes. Interesting about the Safeguarding Review by Kingston - still can’t believe Jean has got away with it all. And where were the dads in all this?!

https://www.kingston.gov.uk/sites/default/files/2025-11/Redacted%20SAR%20Ella%20Report.pdf I think this is the safeguarding review

TofuTuesday · 08/06/2026 21:44

TofuTuesday · 08/06/2026 21:42

It’s all been redacted except the recommendations in case anyone is interested

WarriorN · 08/06/2026 21:48

It’s becoming increasingly clear that alongside reviews and recommendations, documentaries help to facilitate the awareness amongst public and professionals

For example Saville.

IAmKerplunk · 08/06/2026 21:51

Wow thank you @TofuTuesday

I wonder if things really have changed since the review came out. Bloody hope so.

I just don't get what that weird contraption was. I have never seen anything like it.

My cousin has had multiple ops for a (benign) brain issue and had a big patch shaved each time.

The device is an EVD (external ventricular drain). EVDs are a temporary intervention that does the same job as a shunt (drains cerebrospinal fluid and can monitor intracranial pressure). There is a picture of a patient with an EVD on this webpage https://www.hydroassoc.org/external-ventricular-drains-in-hydrocephalus/

I am still suspicious that Jean may have been overdosing Meg with Vitamin A in order to create her IIH (mentioned by her sister - Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension)

"Vitamin A has also been implicated in idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), although the exact etiology is unclear. It is possible that it is due to disruption of cell membranes, resulting in obstructed cerebrospinal fluid drainage." source: https://steinem.org/2021/01/11/too-much-of-a-good-thing-toxicology-blog/#:~:text=Vitamin%20A%20has%20also%20been,in%20obstructed%20cerebrospinal%20fluid%20drainage.

... especially as Vitamin A toxicity can create a range of unpleasant symptoms including joint and bone pain and liver damage.

External Ventricular Drains in Hydrocephalus Management

External Ventricular Drains (EVDs) are crucial for managing hydrocephalus, offering temporary relief & helping treat infections or test shunt effectiveness.

Triggered by the photos of Jean in the thread, I know this is a nasty thing to say but I found myself irritated by the appearance of Jean and Meg. It was odd that even at fancy events like that ball the both looked so scruffy with wild hair and scruffy coats etc.

I think if I knew them I’d have found it odd and my unconscious bias wouldn’t have warmed to them.

  • I appreciate fashion has moved on but they stood out.

incidentally I also wonder who actually benefited from that princess ball , kids being given designer suits and bespoke gowns but really would that be any kids dream come true? Never mind very sick children, getting dressed up to be paraded then sit at a formal dinner.
It was also suggested that some families were chosen because they were more aesthetically pleasing and that checked for me because actually neither of the surviving children of Lucy had any illness but seemed to be main players in the circus.

Lastly that whole ‘Princesses at the Palace’ thing ended up as a scandal for the Royal Family as Beatrice was selling access to the palace for personal gain, probably in a grift planned by her mum.
It ended up in the news because Victoria Beckham had paid for Harper and her friends to have a party there.

I thought this about the princess party. And lots of the treats really. Obviously if the children and families did derive pleasure and joy from it all then that is great. But for a lot of very sick children and a lot of very stressed and under pressure, sleep deprived and skint parents - it is not where I would start for giving them a break and a treat.

It was the same families benefitting every time, especially where the Disney trips were concerned.

ElephantGrey101 · 09/06/2026 07:43

I listened to the podcast a few years ago and I hoped that since then they would be able to bring some kind of charges against Jean. I know Meg was an adult when she died but this started in childhood.

A lot of the events are things that Meg and Jean would like to attend themselves rather than what you would want if you were a poorly child or the parent of one.

I think that Will doesn’t want to believe it because he helped administer her medication believing he was helping his friend but he was actually poisoning her because it must have been the morphine that killed her.

Thebinisrightthere · 09/06/2026 08:33

Sad to say but Jean must have loved the attention when Meg died. Also did anyone notice that Jean & Meg often referred to Meg as Meg Styles?
