How nice and normal it may have been for Gray’s nan to genuinely give a S about her great grandchildren.. rather than be just another psycho. Sometimes I do wish they would do heartwarming storylines aswell as the sinister ones.

Southeastdweller · 18/06/2026 22:01

I’m guessing they’re going to go down the very predictable trying to get custody of Jordan or kidnapping him route with Sheila (Gray’s granny).

Sheila didn’t even mention Chantelle did she.
Or Gray‘s other victims. It was all how it affected her.

FuzzyPuffling · 19/06/2026 07:26

I'm always surprised at the very speedy generations...everyone must have children in their teens.
Gray must be 40 ish, Grant mentioned she had recently retired, so let's say late 60s. So that's maybe 28 years for two generations. Every time....

Shellingbynight · 19/06/2026 08:31

She is too young to be his gran, so either she is and they have badly cast and planned it, or she is actually his mother and trying to distance herself in terms of responsibility for Gray, so that Chelsea trusts her.

We've just had Evil Dad Eddie chucking his money around, do we really need Evil Grandma Sheila.

Southeastdweller · 19/06/2026 08:42

The actress is 80 but does look younger.

OP posts:
Shellingbynight · 19/06/2026 08:53

I could believe she's 80 (and as you say, South, she is!) but Gray was jailed four years ago, and no one would talk about being 'forced' to retire in their late 70s.

the80sweregreat · 19/06/2026 08:55

I’d have taken the 3k and blocked her. She has told her where Jordan is though. Might be a bad move.

Shellingbynight · 19/06/2026 08:59

Yes, told her where he is and given her a photo.
Chelsea constantly goes on about protecting Jordan then does the opposite.
And this being Walford, anyone will be able to walk onto a children's ward!

Southeastdweller · 19/06/2026 09:06

£3K would be a drop in the ocean for Chelsea. She said the other day she can now only work restricted hours, so wanting regular money from Sheila (which looks like is going to happen) I think is credible.

Surely Chelsea could claim benefits if she can’t work ? Not sure if Nicola could let her go without any repercussions, but she could make her redundant maybe ? Not sure about workers rights with a part time job , but if Chelsea can’t work then Nicola could lay her off ? She should really be speaking to her about it and keeping her job open. Although it’s the last thing you would be thinking about at this time.

the80sweregreat · 19/06/2026 09:44

Libby lit the fuse here, but Chelsea agreed to meet Sheila and gave her a lot of info and a photo of her son.
Still think it’ll bite her on her bum to add to her woes! She has lots of those atm

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/06/2026 09:59

Denice in Isolation - she started her first round of treatment they said Day 1 was okay then when her immunity is compromised when her own bone marrow is destroyed she'll feel awful. Maybe they allow visitors at the start then they;ll need to be kept away ?

Billy and Honey dressed up to go to Knight Fusion . Dinner on paper (recycled ?) plates

Chelsea will need to majorly piss Nicola off , she was annoyed in the flash forward .
Maybe Nicola will fire her and Chelsea will take her to an Industrial Tribunal ( I'm sure Johnny Sausage will take her case )
Hmm at Johnny in the cafe with his laptop , Client Confidentiality Course should give him a refund !

Urgentbiscuitrequired · 19/06/2026 10:01

I would imagine if your child can't walk and needs help with all aspects of care you would get DLA and carers UC. Although I'm not sure how far that would stretch in London. It is good they are exploring how a single mum would juggle caring and working, the admin and fighting, etc, as many parents of SEND children have to do this. They should explored how limiting it can be and how things like this change your life.

the80sweregreat · 19/06/2026 10:18

It’s an interesting storyline isn’t it. Being the single parent of a child who is disabled, not being able to work shifts and the lack of childcare.
( not that we know definitely that Jordan will not walk again, but it is how it’s heading it seems so far )
She should look into benefits and tell Nicola what’s going on.

Instead we will probably get a kidnap story and more angst rather than a detailed look at how to care for a child with SEN and what you can do about money and paying the bills.

the80sweregreat · 19/06/2026 10:24

I thought that Johnny worked from home. Ian should have seen him there.
We also saw Kathy and Ian walk out of an office the other day , but not sure if that is Johnny’s one or not as well? They mentioned they had been to see him.
It seems a mystery and chatting in the cafe about legal matters isn’t that confidential.

If only. It’s rare that there are just genuine kind storylines, even the kinder characters are ripped off and stepped on.

Southeastdweller · 19/06/2026 11:01

There’s no drama in kindness. I can’t think of a big story where someone has been kind without there being something in it for them.

When DH had his stem cell transplant, the first 3 days of chemo weren't too bad, then it hit him hard. While he had no immunity (took another couple of weeks for his neutrophils to hit 0) he felt appalling.
I never had to wear a mask or gloves, just an apron, hand washing at the door to his room, visitors restricted to two at a time. Actually it was just me!

So not too dissimilar to Denise. Wait til she gets mucositis... 😞

I hope he is ok now.

Thanks for the information re accuracy, I was also surprised that it was an apron, no mask etc. Good to see they've go it right at this point.

Whit taking in Britney is the only one I can think of.

the80sweregreat · 19/06/2026 12:03

There are ( occasionally) acts of kindness on EE.
Stacey gave Kat the money for an old east end pub, no strings attached.
Whitney and Britney , Whitney and Bianca , good examples. Mostly people want something in return though generally.

murasaki · 19/06/2026 12:09

Phil and Linda's support for each other too, I think. Just a shared experience underlying that, and it's nice.

Shellingbynight · 19/06/2026 12:10

Chelsea lives with family so she hasn't got much in the way of expenses. She said she wants the money for treatment/equipment for Jordan. I am pretty sure the NHS would provide everything he needs, she just wants to upgrade it because she feels guilty. So she's selling her soul to the devil for it.

the80sweregreat · 19/06/2026 12:33

I would see what the NHS comes up with first ( if this was me) , try to find out about work and benefits and what the situation is and then see into any other private health things like more physio or whatever he needs once you know what your dealing with.
It is early days yet. She is jumping the gun a bit here, but I know it’s only for plot purposes and this new woman to be around to mess it up. The 3k would be needed for other day to day things he needs , especially if she is made redundant and can’t work for the foreseeable future.
